If there is anything negative at all, it's that you can hear the road (traffic)
Small, cozy, clean and nice
It is a small site, located directly on the lake. Our pitch was big enough for a caravan and awning and had electricity (billed according to consumption) and fresh water.
The operators are super nice and helpful, and our 2 sheepdogs were welcome.
The sanitary facilities are very clean, you get a chip... with which you get access.
There is a TV and games room on the pitch which you can use free of charge.
There is a small kiosk on site and a bread roll service.
There was also an access to our own bathing area where dogs are allowed!
If it wasn't so far away we would definitely come back again 😍

Highly recommended
We spent a night here while passing through. The site is located above Lake Userin, which can be reached via a flight of steps. There are pitches in the front row, some with a view of the lake, as bushes and trees block the view.
The site is very well maintained. This applies not only to the pitches,... but above all to the sanitary facilities. There is also a kitchen that can be used. Great. You only know that from Scandinavia.
The owner is very nice and helpful. Really likeable.
It's a shame that there's really nothing (more) around it. The snack bar by the lake is closed, as is the canoe rental.
You can get a few small items in the on-site store, and you can also order bread rolls for breakfast.
Conclusion: A great place if you want peace and quiet.

Nice little campsite
Nice little campsite with very friendly owners.
The campsite is a little higher up but there are steps leading directly to the water, where there is a snack bar and playground with a beach and jetty into the water. The sanitary facilities are clean and modern.
We would stay here again and again. :-)

Well thought out in a beautiful location
I have never experienced a campsite where the sanitary facilities are of hotel standard. You could call it that here. Owner Hagen has come up with a lot of ideas for his campsite. Everything seems very well thought out - from the freely usable kitchen with fridges, hobs, pots, pans and kettles to the... pitches with electricity and two water connections and the bread roll service (from the local bakery). The whole site is in top condition. There is water access to the Useriner See lake with a playground and space for canoes right next to the site. A canoe rental company is located directly opposite.
As the site only has around 60 pitches, it is quiet and very informal. It is also a good place for overnight stays for water and cycle hikers.

I am absolutely delighted with this campsite. One of the best places I've ever been to. The lake is amazing, everything is very well maintained and very clean. Everyone at the site is super nice. Even with us as a group there was no complaining. Simply great, we'll definitely be back again 😊😊

I have nothing to criticize about the campsite itself, but the people in charge of the beach should urgently make an effort to keep it cleaner.
Uncomplicated beauty
We were able to get one of the few places with a view of the lake. This made our stay a great experience. Looking out over the lake in the morning with a coffee and in the evening with a glass of wine was unique. A lot of positive things have already been written here about Hagen and his team, and I... can only agree.
The only thing I would make clearer is the marking of the campsites for water hikers, there was "uncontrolled growth" twice if our pitch.

We will certainly be back.

Vacation at Lake Userin
After an uncomplicated booking, we got one of the few shady spots, unfortunately directly on the L25, where the night ended at 06:00 on weekdays.
Location unfortunately on the mountain, which was very inconvenient for us boaters. Access to the water via steep steps or approx. 200 m around the hill. Sanitary... facilities are "inspected" according to the signature list, but we didn't notice any intensive cleaning. A daily inspection of the hiking areas would be an advantage, as day visitors (hikers) also like to leave things lying around. Perhaps signs about cleanliness and garbage cans could be useful.
A kiosk is something else, a daily newspaper was only available in the next largest town.
There is no place for the children to play, balls are played between the campers and cars.
The beach area turned into a garbage dump (everything from diapers to glass) because nobody felt responsible for it. Even with leftover clothes, a clothing store was soon opened.
The "Seeblick" snack bar could be open longer in high season, as it would be a good place to go at sunset. Incidentally, the snack bar is not part of the campsite.

I think the campsite is just great
I think the place is great, not too big and always uncomplicated. The operator and his staff are always nice and helpful. And I have to remind everyone once again that the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities is always based on the operator cleaning them, but who would make them dirty if everyone behaved... like in their own home? And one more thing, why do you need a kiosk? It says on the homepage that there is no kiosk (so always bring something with you).

the overall assessment that can be found here does not correspond to reality
The direct location on the busy country road is a significant disadvantage for the location rating. Furthermore, there is no direct access to the beach and, as others before us have pointed out, the access road is somewhat, shall we say, adventurous for inexperienced drivers. In our opinion, the team... around Hagen is overburdened with the management and cleaning of the central building. The sanitary facilities were very poorly cleaned, whether it was the washbasin, the floor or the urinal. The WC compartments were the cleanest.
But one of the biggest shortcomings was the lack of ventilation in the building and the waterless urinal! As far as I know, this is no longer installed.
Only one thing about this campsite and the sanitary building is handicapped accessible and that is the ground level! Nothing more. No one with a real walking disability can get to or from the site without a car! The single sanitary room designated as suitable for the disabled is nothing more than a large single bathroom with WC.
As a further tip for the site operators, I would recommend a children's playground and perhaps a corner for dog owners.
Hagen and the young woman at reception really try hard, but unfortunately it takes a bit more to run a campsite with this rating.
For us, this is more of a CP for short breaks or as a stopover for cyclists or water hikers, but not for real camping vacationers

Great, enthusiastic all round
I've been a camper for over four decades, previously with a tent, now for the first time with a bully. Anyone who, as a real! camper should go to a hotel.
Despite a last-minute request, accommodation was made possible thanks to Hagen's colleague and colleagues. After two days, I extended my stay by a... week. Moving once on the pitch was no problem.
Hagen was already in his element before six o'clock in the morning, always friendly, in the best of moods and there was always time for a quick chat. Everything was always spot on, Hagen lives his life's work and puts his heart and soul into it. Negative thinkers always find something, I was on vacation and saw the positive.

Very noisy due to the road next to the CP. We had pitch 32 and it was noisy from 6:30 due to the traffic.
Loud vacation
Based on the very good rating, I had expected a bit more from this pitch. We had booked in advance for 14 days and then got a pitch (32) right next to the busy road and near the sewage treatment plant and garbage can. Pitches not very big, car could not be parked properly on the pitch.

Large parking lot
We came to this campsite because of the great reviews. Unfortunately, we were completely disappointed. There is not much in the way of peace and nature. Unfortunately, this place is a huge parking lot, directly on a busy road. On the other side, the campsite borders on the lake. These lakeside pitches... are rare and apparently always fully booked. The lake can be reached via a long flight of steps. The pitch is divided into two parts, with the sanitary building in the middle. Unfortunately, there are no hedges or trees to break up the space. So everything was close together. The sanitary facilities were only cleaned superficially every two hours, but the dirt that was on and in the toilets on Monday was still there on Friday. In addition to the fully occupied CP, there are also water hikers in the evening. They then - understandably - occupy the two showers in the evening (for women, for the entire campsite!). There is a bread roll service, but unfortunately no kiosk or self-service store. You can cook in the kitchen. There is a snack bar by the lake, but it is only open until 6pm. We left early because, like our CP neighbors, we were of the opinion that we could stand on the road at home.

If you really want to find the fly in the ointment... -The rolls are not really tasty -Be careful on the steep driveway, don't drive up too fast, otherwise the nose wheel may touch down -If you have internet-addicted children, you won't be happy here
Dreamlike vacation in the feel-good oasis
Actually, you shouldn't judge such campsites at all, otherwise it will be really full next year 😁

A fantastic welcome with the words "We're glad you're here", pitch shown, all questions answered completely, 5 minutes later the electricity was already running.

The reception has everyday necessities,... in an emergency your own fridge is cleared and the lucky guest is given ice cubes. Disposable emergency grills with sausages are also available.
My favorite: The well-chilled Lübzer beer range at more than fair prices 0.5l for 1.50€

Clean sanitary facilities, cleaned every 2 hours, the whole campsite is only 3 years old, showers cost 50 cents for 2 minutes or 1€ for 4 minutes.

Directly at the campsite is a staircase to the bathing area and the boat entrance, storage facilities for boats are available. There is a small bathing beach with a jetty and slide. Lake Userin is very clean.
There is also a snack bar at the bathing area where you can enjoy cake, ice cream or chips.

A kitchen with cooking facilities and fridge is available for water sports enthusiasts and cyclists in tents.

Hagen (the boss) also rents out boats and bicycles (e-bikes).

Conclusion: If you're looking for a campsite where motorhomes, tents, campers, small children and big children have their reason for being, you can't go wrong here

We stayed here for a week with 2 tents and 2 kayaks.
The operators are very friendly and helpful.

Description of the site:
The site is practically divided in two and surrounded by trees and bushes. There are a few young trees in the inner area which do not yet provide any shade. Next to the driveway... is the reception and sanitary building (new and well-maintained). In the men's area there are only two showers, three toilets, one high and one children's toilet, one wash cubicle and five washbasins. This is absolutely not sufficient for the size of the space, especially as it was fully occupied at the time of our stay. The washing-up area is located in the extension of the building (no hot water at any time!!). A laundry room with two washing machines, but no adequate washing facilities for small hand washing.

On the lake side, a high, long staircase leads down to the rather unkempt boat mooring or rest area; a snack bar, which is only open for a limited time (10 am - 6 pm) and offers rather overpriced 08/15 food and drinks, is set slightly apart.
The right side of the square is close to a busy country road (junction area, from about 05.30 a.m. already noisy, intensive commuter traffic).
Unfortunately, the square as a whole has no pleasing arrangement of parking spaces and no paved paths to them. Everything seems more or less confusing, disorganized and cramped. The sand/lawn surface is very bumpy and full of holes in places!

Wi-Fi is free, but unfortunately only weak and limited.

The high number of 5-star ratings, which is absolutely incomprehensible to us, is probably due to single overnight stays by paddlers who only use the left half of the site once for an overnight stay.

Much more could be done with this site!

The site is divided into two parts by the driveway and the adjacent building with sanitary facilities and reception; from the left-hand half of the site, steps lead down to the publicly accessible shore of Lake Userin, and from there to the self-service restaurant with beer garden, which unfortunately... closes at 6 pm. The right-hand side of the square is noisy at the end due to the passing road.

The program of the place is called "Hagen fragen", and Hagen, the owner, really tries to meet the wishes of his guests and takes care of them.

Unfortunately, it seems as if they are trying to fill the site as much as possible, which, if you don't get one of the rare pitches facing the lake, leads to a feeling of cramped conditions, but especially to the fact that the well-made sanitary facilities (men: two showers, three toilets, one high and one low urinal) are simply not enough, especially when the one or other water hiking group (I suspect that the high number of 5-star ratings, which I cannot explain, comes from this group of people) also occupies the site. The few young trees on the edge of the site do not yet provide any shade, so you feel like you're standing in the steppe. More class instead of mass would be good for the square as a whole and could probably also be represented in terms of price, a more pleasing arrangement of the parking spaces, for example, and a little more structure to counteract the impression of a meadow used as a parking lot for residential vehicles. This may be the reason why there is no photo of the parking spaces themselves on the website.

Electricity according to consumption; showers with coin (positive: with stop button); WLAN free of charge, but only rudimentarily available, almost not at all when the pitch is fully occupied.

It is a nice place to rest and relax, but also a good starting point for bike tours or to set off on a boat trip. Hagen always has an open ear and is helpful, takes care of the place, keeps it tidy and clean.
If you want remmidemmi, you've come to the wrong place. Unfortunately, the bistro on the lake... was only open for a limited time, which we couldn't understand, but you don't have to understand everything.
A clear thumbs up for the campsite, we thank you and are happy to recommend you to others.

A very uncomplicated place, clean sanitary facilities, very nice owner, finds a solution for everything including the broken rubber rope for the steering of our folding boat. We can't wait to see what Hagen has built next year. Only the stairs to the beach were a bit of a hindrance when transporting our folding boat to the water, but everything was there to park the boat.

gs ratio! Our canoe group was delighted with Hagen and his campsite! You can tell that it is Hagen's heart project and that he has put a lot of thought into everything. We felt very well looked after. The sanitary facilities were always clean and warm and simply beautifully laid out. The small kitchen... has everything you need (apart from your own crockery) and is also in top condition. In short: we couldn't have wished for a better place and a more obliging groundsman as the last stop on our little trip. Many thanks for that!
