"Nice but... - In a few years certainly nice, during our stay not, were not informed at the reception that the sanitary houses are not available...not possible...there were only containers available and in a miserable condition. One night was ok, we'll come back in a few years.

"Beautiful place in 2 years - A beautiful new square, which unfortunately isn't finished yet. It will certainly be very nice in 2 years. The water around the course is ideal for water sports enthusiasts.

"For relaxation and a base for excursions - Very nice and friendly operators and staff. Very large pitches, unfortunately partly holed up by the rabbits. Water, waste water and electricity close to the pitch. Despite the high season, the pitch was only ¼ full and the price was good for what was on offer. Swimming in the adjacent canal, very clean water, but unfortunately lots of aquatic plants. Toilets clean, but a little dark and without toilet paper. Showers always clean, fixed water temperature (usually very good, only too hot for sunburn) 5 minutes free of charge. No midday ban, so you don't have to plan your excursions according to the rest periods (SUPER). Possibility for small boats - also with motor - (no slipway) is available. Unfortunately, the adjacent highway is moving much closer to the CP due to a widening than can be seen on the current GOOGLE view (06/2017), a piece of forest has also been felled for this and the noise protection has thus been eliminated. Very loud in S/SW winds, but it was only on 2 days within 3 weeks, currently also construction noise Mon-Fri until approx. 17.00 hrs. Still relatively quiet at night, then only a slight noise can be heard from the AB. We moved the camper van on the 2nd day so that the awning was on the side facing away from the highway and then felt very comfortable. We would visit this site again.

"At first glance 4 stars, but it can't keep them - We were here in August 2015. At first glance, the site makes a solid impression, the sanitary facilities are "new", as the site feels less than 15 years old. The pitches for motorhomes are very small, 3m plus approx. 4m, which you have to share with the person opposite. We were charged €18.50 for this, a "proper pitch costs just €2 more and is definitely recommended. For smaller children up to about 12 years of age, there is a space to run around and play, which is about 30-40m in diameter. There is a giant jumping pillow with an edge length of 7m, a table tennis table and a small football pitch, all of which are actually good to very good. The swimming area on the sunbathing lawn is somewhat separated from the pitches and is actually quite nice, there are long plants in the water that make swimming somewhat unpleasant to impossible, it is a little better from the jetty, but not good. The water is clear and makes a perfect impression. What really bothers me are the many rabbit holes in connection with nettle-lined hedges. The operator can't help the animals, but for the holes, which can be really dangerous with twisted feet, you could take a wheelbarrow and earth to try to get the place free of stumbling after the guest has left, the nettles at the foot of the hedges have not yet met a brush cutter this year. The grass is very high for a campsite and when it is mowed, the clippings are carried everywhere into the tent because it is not cleaned up. The toilets have not seen a basic cleaning above 2m height this year, spiders live there in their webs, a vacuum cleaner that would be used twice a season with an extension pipe would solve the problem. The site is about 30km from Schiphol and the approaching airplanes can be heard accordingly. The nearby highway is not very audible. Almere is an interesting city in terms of urban development, with a current population of around 200,000. The traffic routing is ingenious for cyclists, for car drivers it takes a bit of getting used to, but overall it's forward-looking and ingenious. A return ticket to Amsterdam costs around €14 by public transport (train from Almere city or bus directly from the bus station 200m from the campsite).

"Beautiful place to relax and unwind - Stayed at the campsite for a week in July 2015 with the camper van. We received a very friendly and helpful welcome. The site is very quiet and the surrounding area is ideal for long bike rides. Shopping facilities about 2.5 km away are easy to reach by bike.

"Great campsite! - This was our second time at Waterhout. The campsite is run with a lot of love but with clear rules. The pitches by the water are very quiet. Lots of birds, ducks and swans. We went on lovely bike rides in the area. We will be back!
