The mown grass alone, which sticks to your shoes and which you drag everywhere with you, including into the sanitary building, is not so great. You don't get very far with the CEE plugs that are common on campsites either.too expensiveNext time I'd rather go straight to the site in Limburg. Two washbasins with hot water.Simple place in beautiful surroundingsIf you're looking for a small, idyllic pitch and don't attach much importance to good sanitary facilities, this is the place for you.
You can only get rid of the gray water if you have a hose with you.
The groundsman is quite nice but also enterprising. Our visitor had to pay 7.5 euros because he had... a beer with us and we were in the restaurant with him afterwards. He was at our camper for about 1.5 hours.
We didn't want to bargain and just paid.
Sometimes it's the little things.

Anja S.July 2022Dobre straneThe view of the Lahn is very nice if you stand in the 1st row, very quiet.Negativne straneVery narrow driveway, nothing else.Small, fine and very quiet...We used the campsite as a stopover on our trip south and were able to relax wonderfully. The campsite offers a beautiful view of the Lahn. On arrival, we had to call the groundsman and wait at the barrier so that he could allocate us an unpaved pitch.
There is a bread roll service from the local bakery.... We were able to enter our bread/bread/cake request in the list at the wash house. There is no kiosk. The restaurant "Das neue Mühlchen" is okay, but in our opinion a little too expensive. The sanitary facilities are outdated and take some getting used to, no soap and hand dryers or towels. If you don't have high expectations, that's okay. The electricity connections can be a long way away (approx. 20 - 30 m) if you are right on the water.

The adjoining restaurant offers very tasty food and good service. Unfortunately no bread roll service.Very nice and quiet locationThe site offers sufficiently large pitches, the ground is grassy and well-kept. If you come by boat, you can easily get in and out, there is a jetty and a kind of slipway for canoes, kayaks and paddle boats. Super quiet and peaceful. Sometimes a boat chugs past, or a few swans. We were here in September 19 while passing through, and really appreciated the rest and the quiet night. Check in after calling super easy, as well as checkout. Long power cable recommended. Sanitary facilities were clean, are a bit older but ok. Not separate, but all single cabins, so ok. We were two adults without children and without a dog and we stayed in our VW bus. The pitches are not parceled out and we were allowed to choose our own pitch. There are pitches directly on the Lahn (perfect... for anglers or canoe trips). We had nothing to do with the owner except for the registration, but he was friendly. The sanitary facilities are not separated by gender, but that didn't bother us personally. There are cabins with a toilet, shower and washbasin, so you have your own little bathroom, so the lack of gender segregation doesn't bother us. What is missing in the cabins is a mirror. The sanitary facilities are older, but clean. There is a restaurant right on site, the prices are normal and the food was very good. The campsite was also very quiet in the evening and at night, although there were two groups of young anglers fishing throughout the night. All in all, the site is in a really nice location and we felt very comfortable. What is missing is a bread roll service or kiosk and possibly a small playground, table tennis table or similar. There is nothing for children on the site. We also noticed negatively that there is only cold water for washing dishes.Automatski prevedeno.

You should do that before complaining here - and maybe think about your own appearance and behavior? We... were there as a group and will be back again and again! The restaurant belonging to it offers very tasty and fresh food at a normal price. The groundsman is always polite and ready to help and make small talk. Every visitor gets a friendly "good morning" in the morning... and a friendly "good night" in the evening. We liked everything so much that we will always be happy to go there again. The much criticized and not gender-separated sanitary facilities, we did not find bad, as each cabin is equipped with shower, toilet and sink. It is possible to leave the cabin fully clothed without disturbing the opposite sex. However, it would be worth improving if a mirror were attached to the cabins and a solution were found for the standing water on the floor. Top value for money. For us, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages!5 wonderful quiet days on the Lahn!"We searched for the campsite's facilities and discovered the last negative entry with incomprehension. We generally don't comment on such a platform, but always look for the direct way - the conversation. Now we do, because we experienced a very quiet nature campsite by the water, with a friendly and... responsible groundsman, with clean and intact toilet and shower cubicles.......It's always important to know what you want! The groundsman is constantly sneaking around between tents and cars to check whether someone has perhaps not paid for their cool box etc. We are constantly confronted with seemingly pointless rules. You are constantly confronted with seemingly pointless... rules, from which the children in particular have to suffer. For example, children should only ride their bikes if there is a good reason and not just for "fun". Playing in the woods next door - forbidden. Using the jetty to get out after swimming in the Lahn - forbidden. Every little thing must be paid for (e.g. barbecue and campfire). At the same time, the campfire may only be used until 23:00 "for safety reasons". The sanitary facilities are literally wet rooms. There is water on the floor everywhere. There is no separation between the men's and women's areas. The electrical installations on the pitch are also extremely borderline. Wooden boxes with holes in them and bare cable ends fiddled together. This was certainly our first and last visit.Automatski prevedeno.

My wife and 2 children were looking forward to camping. The first thing we were greeted with was 20 things that are not allowed here, what we have to pay for and so on. Not a good start but everyone deserves a 2nd chance...... Unfortunately it didn't work, children are not allowed to ride their bikes across the free tent meadow, the light in the toilet must always be off "otherwise the electricity will be turned off"... Fire at the paid fireplace had to be turned off at 11.00 pm (threat of fire department and police). All in all, the highest demands on the "camping guests" are offset by unfriendliness, catastrophic hygiene conditions and many prohibitions. I have been camping all over the world for many years, but I have never experienced anything like this. Recreational value unfortunately = 0, hence only 1 star. What we find particularly objectionable is 1. extra payment is required for barbecues and fires. 2. due to the "prudence" of the groundsman, it is also very loud there at night, e.g. because the music systems are... turned up all the way. 3. the sanitary facilities are rather basic, as there is no separation between the sexes and the cleaning facilities are limited to about 5 showers. 4. there is no possibility to buy baked goods or anything else, you always have to go into town.Automatski prevedeno.

The site, directly on the Lahn, is simple and without any big frills. All pitches are on two large meadows, without pitches. The layout is taken care of by the very friendly groundsman, who looks after everything and everyone. The sanitary facilities... were always clean. There is a shower, a toilet and a washbasin in each of the cabins. This means that there is no separation between male and female. Despite the "long weekend", we managed to get a nice spot by the water. Shopping facilities are only available in the town of Diez, about 3 km away. However, we had already stocked up well beforehand and cycled into town in the morning to get bread rolls. There is a lovely restaurant with a very nice atmosphere on site. If you need peace and quiet and nothing else, you're in good hands here.Automatski prevedeno.

Unfortunately, there is a very unfriendly groundsman who even looks into the tent at 8 in the morning to check that everything is correct. We went swimming in the Lahn every day! There are 4-5 bathrooms each with shower and WC and a sink. Restaurant with terrace directly on site (not cheap but good). We paid €17.80 with 2 people and a Vw bus (without electricity). So if you want to camp normally, this site is recommended! The groundsman is "business friendly".Automatski prevedeno.
Dirk T.May 2016Dobre strane- Quiet locationNegativne strane- unfortunately only one sinkVery quiet little placeThis campsite is characterized by one thing above all: everything the camper needs is there and nothing is overdone. There is electricity, water, toilets and showers, a sink, pitches and a friendly groundsman. If you want, the river Lahn flows right in front of the awning, and it's not far to go out... for a meal in the evening, even if we didn't try it. The approach to the site is a bit of a challenge, it's a steep one-lane road down into the Lahn valley and the end is a hairpin bend. So be careful, otherwise you'll leave unsightly scratches on the paintwork. All in all, a lovely campsite where camping is still fun.Automatski prevedeno.
