Only partially suitable for large caravans.Short vacationThe campsite is in need of renovation. The showers and toilets do not deserve 4 stars. WLAN is subject to a charge. The paths within the campsite are poorly lit and dangerous as they are in a desolate condition. Very difficult to drive on for large caravans.
The operator couple is very nice. Bread... roll service available on site. Very good restaurants within 10 km easily accessible by car.
Recommended for a short stay with some reservations. According to the owner, improvement comes quickly here.Fijne camping vlak bij de Moezel!We hebben op deze camping 4 nachten gestaan met onze caravan in september 2021. Het is een mooie, verzorgde terras-camping gelegen in Heidenburg, vlakbij de moezel. Mooi uitzicht vanaf je standplaats het dal in. Zeer aardige en behulpzame ontvangst door Erik van Dijk die deze camping samen met partner... Monique van Dijk runt. Een prima camping als uitvalsbasis voor het maken van wandeltochten. We have made two "Traumschleif" walks, one of which really runs along the campsite. Very nice! Good and clean sanitary facilities. Minpuntje was de beperkte afwas-mogelijkheid, maar daar wordt zeer binnenkort verbetering in aangebracht. In de omgeving zijn uitstapjes naar Trittenheim en Trier leuk om te doen. Voor de fietsers een kleine opmerking: Hou er rekening mee dat de camping vrij hoog ligt en dat je dus een behoorlijke klim moet maken om vanaf de moezel weer terug naar de camping te gaan. Real mineral... water comes out of the taps!
Nice little restaurant, owner-managed, food is still handmade here.
The supply of baked goods is good, for the rest you have to drive a little further.
However, cyclists have to cope with some steep climbs and downhill stretches on tours, and there are hardly any paved cycle paths. But it's not far to the Moselle.

Perfect starting point for visiting Trier (approx. 29 km) and excursions to the Moselle. Basically everything you need as a camper is there. Great: no shower tokens required !!! In Germany, a site like this is a real... hit. The pitches are well-kept, and the well-tended lawns on the pitches are striking. Only the dishwashers are a bit strange, there is only one central hot water tap. If you are good on foot, I recommend the "Water - Poets - Trails" hike directly from the campsite. A leisurely hike across meadows and through forests, past the "small drone", about 12.5 km and about five hours including breaks. All pitches with electricity, waste water and water connection. Electricity cable is laid, you just might need an extension cord. The bread and bread roll service is excellent, good, friendly baker, payment only on departure. The poultry are only allowed on... the pitch from time to time and can even be fed with leftovers (ask beforehand!) All in all, a nice, quiet place, very suitable for relaxing! The site is beautiful, well laid out, has a wonderful view and is quiet at the beginning of September. The pitches are spacious and have a water tap, but you need a long cable for electricity. The sanitary facilities... are actually quite clean but the refilling of hand washing soap and unfortunately also toilet paper was a problem. The sinks have a hot water tap with lukewarm water and are very narrow. The operators are very nice and helpful, the bread roll service works very well. The "bistro" on site has 3 schnitzels and a rum steak on the menu. As non-smokers, we were a little disappointed that the door from the smoking area (beer bar) to the dining room was only actually closed when non-smokers were there. The restaurant 200m from the campsite unfortunately only has hot food from Fri - Sun, but is highly recommended. The supply of food is difficult in the area, it is best to shop on the way back from an excursion along the route. We didn't come across a larger grocery store nearby. Oh yes, the chickens mentioned by other campers didn't bother us personally, but we were also 2 terraces down and the rooster and his hen only came by once. Whether we would choose this site again .....
