Forest idyll
The site is very idyllic and certainly very quiet when there is no construction going on. There were a lot of families with children there. It was clean and that also applies to the sanitary facilities. At the time we were there, work was being carried out on the new sanitary building, which was sometimes annoying due to the mixer noise, but necessary. The staff were nice.

For us it was very nice to experience so many children and no dogs. The site is in a very nice location. A good starting point for paddling and cycling.

Unfortunately, the site is unkempt and the sanitary facilities are outdated and not particularly clean. Despite booking early and paying in advance, we were only allocated a very small, unattractive pitch. (In our immediate neighborhood there were old containers) The reception welcomes the guests with stacked boxes and other things on the house wall.

Conclusion: The condition of the pitch is inadequate and cannot hide behind eco and green. We rather left.

- outdated electricity boxes that you have to search for about 30m away--you are sent across the pitch with... the wrong keys for them

natural is very beautiful in itself, that's why we had
why we chose this place--

but, dear operators--this is not a self-runner, and prices like on a 4 star place are not justifiable with this condition, too bad, also that our well-intentioned criticism was answered with--"then we would have to look for something else".

Really a very great campsite!!!
It has become by far my favorite campsite and vacation destination, not only because of the super nice staff on site, but also because of the nature, the lake, etc..
Probably the best campsite in Germany if you are traveling with children!
There is a wonderful café and a small store next to it, where... you can get almost everything you need, you just have to take a little more money with you than to the supermarket, but which campsite isn't like that? There are also lots of different activities (more for children) right there on the campsite and if it rains, there is a café and a really nice lounge where you can spend a nice day if necessary. All in all, a really nice campsite that is clean and still very natural. The staff are really very friendly and everything is beautifully designed.

An interesting experience
We were there with bike and tent. The site is on a slope and we had a problem pitching the tent, the sanitary facilities were not clean, the water was cold as it was probably "heated" with solar energy. We didn't like the alternative crowd, which we actually like, but it was really spooky... We wouldn't go there again as it was very expensive.

Beautiful location, nice for children with partly unkempt sanitary facilities
This was our second time at the campsite. The owners are very friendly, but sometimes a bit busy as our reserved pitch was already occupied. However, we still managed to find a nice pitch. It is very busy there during the vacation season. There are Kettcars, a ropeway, playgrounds and a large bouncy... cushion for children. The bathing area is fine, but if you want to swim in a beautiful clear lake, you should drive a few kilometers further to Stechlin. The organic food store is well stocked but quite expensive. The big drawback of the campsite is that everything seems pretty run down. The Kettcars, even if free of charge, could be much better maintained. The sanitary facilities are quite old, and you can see that, but what is much more frightening is that cobwebs and dirt, which are at a height of 1.50 m and higher, are not removed. It somehow gives the impression that they want to get the maximum profit out of it with the minimum investment. I don't think we'll be back again.

Great campsite & heavenly location & nice atmosphere & overcrowded
We were there as a family last year. The place has a great atmosphere, the owners are friendly, the guests are also great, the location is fantastic (Stechlin & Seewalde nearby). Our children quickly made friends. Unfortunately, for the 2nd time, a stomach virus was already present on the site, it was... very hot, it could also be due to the bacteria / algae of the lake: unfortunately, cleaning is done without a high-pressure cleaner, many, many children... We got infected, so we avoided the site this year... Unfortunately!!! Too many families: hardly any sleep: night's rest unfortunately not from 10 pm, from 6 am the first children scream! Driving Kettcar and and and... We were totally tired and not rested... The campsite is overcrowded, prices are quite high and the trees are not checked or maintained: a forester should have a look. The playgrounds are fantastic, but unfortunately quite neglected or need to be renewed and ropes tightened. Lots of hip young alternative families, great location...

The campsite has a great location, ...
...is largely unspoiled and only minimally parceled out. It is very child/family friendly, so even in the low season it is very lively during the day. This is certainly not for those seeking peace and quiet, but a good night's sleep was still guaranteed for the most part. The Dutch manager was friendly... and uncomplicated. The service in the organic food store, on the other hand, made a somewhat disorganized and overworked impression, and the price level also seemed a little too high to me, although the range was okay. The two sanitary facilities on the site are relatively modern and well-equipped, but rather unkempt. The showers cannot be regulated and it was not possible to shower in the lower facility because the water temperature was too high. Also, a site with such a dense tree population should be regularly checked for safety, in the lower area (approx. no. 203) a large broken branch hovered threateningly over the tents.

You have to like it
Very beautifully situated pitch, in the middle of the forest. However, not like other pitches, more eco and nature. The sanitary facilities could be a bit better maintained and the paths are not paved, which can cause some difficulties in rainy weather. I'm still wondering whether I'll go again, as the Mecklenburg Lake District has even more beautiful places to offer.

That was an interesting experience. I haven't seen so many families with children on a campsite for a long time. It was great. The atmosphere is really great. The organic beer tastes fantastic and the people are really friendly. There is a cool hip cushion for children on the beach and another playground... in the forest. The disadvantages are the poor pitches for water hikers: relatively high grass, slopes, blazing sun. And the sanitary facilities for water hikers are containers that are not very clean. There is a very large and beautiful container in the forest near the caravan sites. The night's rest is apparently very well enforced, so that after 22:00 you have an incredibly quiet and great atmosphere on the site. Another tip: it's best to hike or drive to Lake Stechlin for a swim. Conclusion: great experience, but a little too expensive because of the organic food and the pitches are so-so.

We were in high season, the campground is overcrowded. An entire field is completely filled. In the middle too and there is no consideration of where to walk. Beautiful place and nice lake.

It is difficult to put into words what we experienced......
The Dutch were a bit overwhelmed with the situation. The boss is very unfriendly, which her husband Nick makes up for somewhat. The fire levels were always higher than elsewhere, so you were only allowed to barbecue at the fire pit and fires were forbidden. The night's rest was also very closely monitored.... After 10 p.m. you could no longer play pinochle outside laughing. The site was pleasantly empty at first, but then filled up more and more. As there are no fixed pitches, more and more tents were erected around me. And with 10 large tents 1-5 meters apart, all with several children, the peace and quiet was over. I have never experienced a place with so many small children. One of the 20 children around me had a crying fit within 15 minutes. I was there myself with a child (11 years old). It was too boring for her in the square and the playground was somehow not accepted because it is so spread out. When the cable car is finished, that could change. And the vegetarian/vegan-esoteric-yoga-latte-machiato style of the Dutch also had the right clientele there. There are lots of Shiva and Buddha statues around and a large picture of the Virgin Mary hangs in the café, but I didn't notice much of a positive mood among the owners. A bottle of seltzer costs €2 in the store. As a vegetarian, however, you get everything, it's a small organic store that always adds 25% to the price. The Ellenbogensee is on the Havel, so the water is just right. There are also lots of motorboats on the water. There is a nice swimming lake in the area and the Berlin Copenhagen cycle path takes you quickly to Neu Globsow and Lake Stechlin. The campsite is more suitable for people with small children and I would only visit it in the off-season. After a thunderstorm, a family was almost injured by large heavy branches when several branches about 5 meters long and as thick as a leg broke off and missed the children's pitch by a hair's breadth and tore down the awning. There was no apology and no understanding. I was called rude by the boss when I said that in my opinion the undergrowth was not trimmed enough. Yes, it was a storm, but 6m long branches on old dried out trees that have a lot of needles at the end and are already bending 2-3m are borderline. My experiences are of course subjective, but the facts that I took with me are: Negative - The site is very long. - It gets too crowded in high season. - The owners are restrictive and sometimes unfriendly. - The water at Ellbogensee is OK but not particularly good. - Recreation difficult with many small children - The main sanitary facility is closed from 12:30-15:00. - From 22:00 you can no longer be louder than "tent volume". - From 22:00 you can no longer shower and there is no wifi. - The shower water is so soft that you can hardly get the soap off. - The toilets always leak water from the seal at the bottom so it is always dangerous to drop your pants. - The trees have a lot of dead wood and very long branches, which in my opinion need to be pruned much better. - The restaurant should be converted to vegan. Positive - There is everything a vegan/vegetarian needs. - There are many beautiful lakes in the area. - Good for people with small/young children. - Restaurant with a view of the bathing area - Wifi at the café (SSID:Elbogensee/Pass:welcome) - Child-friendly Kettcars for driving around ect

Once and not again
At first we were still euphoric, but then came one disappointment after another. The place is actually very nice. But the operator should make a little more of it. The children's playgrounds are totally neglected and partly overgrown and unkempt. Some of them pose a danger to the children. The Dutch... regime has also affected us. Apart from the fact that no radio was allowed on the campsite, we also witnessed a young man simply having his headphones ripped off his head. That really goes too far. Boats that probably didn't belong to the campsite were also simply rudely removed from the beach. That's no way to treat someone else's property. Perhaps as a well-intentioned tip: - Please post the camping regulations clearly so that every tourist can familiarize themselves with the customs. - Offer a little more "normal food". Organic and ecological products are good, but not everyone can afford to buy only these products.

Since the takeover by the Dutch owners, the campsite is no longer what it once was. Where cranes nested, deer played with their fawns ..., that no longer exists. Hygiene is unacceptable due to overcrowding in the season. "Dutch dictatorship", especially by the owner, is almost unbearable. Rude and very... arrogant "rule". Permanent campers are no longer welcome. German fire protection is of no interest (open fire at forest fire risk level 4). Price/performance is borderline, overpriced so-called organic food store. We were permanent campers for 40 years from 1973 to 2013.

We were at the campsite at the weekend with several families. The location and nature were fantastic. It wasn't too crowded either, as the main season is already over. What we didn't like at all were the operators, especially the elderly owner. Completely inappropriate tone and rude. It started with... the welcome and continued throughout the weekend. The highlights were the warnings about night-time rest, which was absolutely ridiculous as we were talking quietly outside our tents. After all, we didn't want to wake our children. The discrepancy between the expectations of the guest in terms of cleanliness etc. and the hygiene on the pitch (moldy fridge) and the condition of the pitch and sanitary facilities is also funny. There were then a few more experiences that mean we won't be returning despite the wonderful location. It is incomprehensible why the operator creates such an atmosphere of mistrust and control mania...

We stayed at the campsite in July as a small family with a tent because of the many good reviews. Unfortunately, we cannot agree with them. The supposed natural playground is completely neglected. There are not enough showers, especially in summer with the crowds. Some of the tents are pitched right... next to the caravans, so that you can hardly stretch your tent and feel like you're lying in bed with your snoring neighbor. There is no midday rest, so it is not possible to relax. Adults are not allowed to talk after 10 p.m., not even on the jetty, and lanterns must be switched off. Make sure you bring a flashlight with you when going to the toilet at night! The store offers a wide range of food, but only organic. The prices for the hot meals are absolutely exorbitant (€9.50 per portion for potatoes with quark) Dogs are not allowed on the site. The alleged drinking water has caused diarrhea and vomiting in many children, nothing was done despite hints. The site has a great location but is completely overloaded due to the crowds. The owners are very rude and seem neglected ?!

Unfortunately a bitter disappointment. The operators were super unfriendly when it came to keeping the night's rest and put out the fire pit at 11 pm and then drove us away from there, with the consequence that we had to sit down in the middle of the tents to talk, where we disturbed the sleeping children much more than we would have done at the fire pit. Dogs were not tolerated on the site at all.
