Great and professional children's program (not just some granny from the village).

The restaurant is also highly recommended!

The operator describes it as "camping with soul" and that describes it quite well.

Unfortunately, the proportion of permanent campers is over 90%. This no longer has much to do with camping. It's more like an allotment garden site.
Unfortunately not so positive
As soon as you drive in, you pass permanent squares that are more reminiscent of suburban housing estates in a large Spanish city (anyone who knows Madrid knows what I mean).

Toilets / showers closed from 22:00 to 07:00. You would expect the showers to be clean by 07:00. Wrong, the cleaning crew starts... at 08:00 at the earliest.

Garbage disposal is only possible 1-2 times a day for half an hour.

Lunch break from 12:00 - 15:00. It makes absolutely no sense to extend the vehicle driving ban to completely silent electric vehicles, especially as every vehicle is quieter than some of the other campers. The campsite rules should be urgently adapted here.

Collecting service water is a matter of course, but it makes no sense if you allow mobile dog kennels to be set up and 5 dogs to romp around here unsupervised. Who collects their waste water here?

Instruction on arrival is limited to the provision of a plan. Customer friendliness is different.

Last but not least: W-Lan. Unstable and at €15.00 a week simply a cheek.

Our conclusion: Beautiful view, otherwise not recommended. I seriously wonder where these stars come from. I've been to a 3-star campsite in France and had much better experiences. Sorry, but no more for us.

The restaurant and the store are great, as are the wash houses. Waste separation is also great.

WLAN does not work at all. There is no lighting at all on the side paths. Pitches much too small of the stated 100sqm there are only 85sqm. Electricity connection without cable drum you can't get far here. Garbage collection at 7:45 in the morning is not possible. Not many people know about lunch breaks here, my car is much quieter.

Hello, we have been camping for 20 years now. We've seen a lot of campsites and are also popular visitors to Croatia. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this campsite to others. But I don't want to talk the place down, everyone should form their own opinion.

Good service looks different
The positive things first: the reception was very friendly, the pitches are of a sufficient size (as long as the neighbor keeps to the limits)
But: booked 3 months in advance, 50% deposit had to be paid within 7 days, the remaining 50% 14 days before departure. The pitches in category C all (supposedly)... have their own electricity connection. This is only true if the cable is long enough to run across several pitches. The meter box is a locked, high-security area (you need expert, trained staff to connect and read the meter). Waste disposal takes 30 minutes in the morning at one sanitary building and another 30 minutes in the afternoon at the other sanitary building. If you arrive 10 seconds too late, the gate is closed in your face and you are sent away again (I witnessed such an incident myself). The sanitary facilities are subterranean for a site of this category: broken toilet seats that are not changed for days. Soap and paper towels are only replenished on a whim and are also empty for days on end. The cleaning leaves a lot to be desired. Once roughly wiped through..... that's it. Cobwebs, round corners.... It's nice that there are cleaning staff. But it would be nicer if they did their job instead of just playing on their cell phones. The showers are kindly locked from 10 pm. So if you come back later in the evening, you can crawl into your bunk all sweaty and musty. To top it all off, after our lunch break on departure, we asked reception for a (previously mentioned) specialist to check the electricity box (the cable has to be professionally pulled and read properly). We were told directly that this would take 2 hours because there was no one present who was responsible for it. Well, not everyone can do it.
Conclusion: NEVER AGAIN!

Large, beautiful and clean campsite
We had a pitch in the 1st row in category A. The view was fantastic, less than 20m from the sea.
Due to the size of the pitch, you should have a bike with you.
The supermarket on the site was excellently equipped.
All the staff were very friendly.

There is a huge playground and football pitch for children....
The beach was exceptionally empty and not very busy.
Some stones on the beach, but still soft enough to relax.
The sanitary facilities were very clean.

Due to the category A we had fresh water directly at the pitch, as well as a waste water disposal facility.
The roads on the site are relatively narrow, but shouldn't be a problem for drivers with foresight.

Unfortunately, the garbage station is only open at certain times, which is a bit annoying but doesn't detract from the overall experience.

So it's clear that this campsite is really a very nice destination and has a lot to offer. It's also clean and right by the sea.
We will definitely be back.

Good campsite for a long weekend
The pitches in the -D- area around 9000 are very muddy when it rains. The water does not seep away. Even two consecutive days of sunshine don't help.
The pitch urgently needs to be drained.

The play equipment on the playgrounds (two playgrounds) should be overhauled, especially the ropeway. Perhaps goal nets would be appropriate on the soccer pitch.
We will definitely be back.
We were there at the weekend and were totally impressed by the cleanliness of the site and the great location of the campsite. We especially recommend the Italian restaurant, a super chef, a delight for every palate.

So far a great place... Not suitable for kids from about 12 years old, they will be bored to death 😉 Unfortunately the lady (around 40) in the office doesn't work at all. We have rarely experienced anything so incompetent and cheeky!

Good place with a huge shortcoming
I was there for a long weekend. Had a tourist pitch in the D area. The pitches are on a large meadow, one corner of which is extremely sloping. You would never be able to pitch a caravan reasonably straight there. My side of the meadow was wonderful and I had a pitch right next to the shopkeeper. Not... far away is the restaurant, which serves extremely tasty dishes. We were there three nights in a row :-) The sanitary facilities are clean and relatively new. But there are only two wash houses on the whole site, so it's quite a journey from the site to the wash house. There are at least one or two additional buildings missing on the site. The site is pretty badly lit and the evening walks to the wash house are not without danger. But now the reason why I wouldn't go to this site again: The garbage dump is open daily from 15:00 - 15:30. At first I thought this was a joke, but it is actually practiced there. The garbage is then thrown in under the critical eye of the groundsman, who inspects every throw-in. That's not on! And as I might also want to dispose of leftovers and so on after dinner and don't want them to be left in the awning all night, I will prefer to choose a pitch with a more needs-based waste disposal system in future. Apart from that, this site is very well maintained and if you don't mind the garbage regulations, you're certainly in good hands here.

It can happen that a huge Concorde luxury liner in the first row blocks your view when you are in the second row.
We were very satisfied, except for one "little thing"
We had booked pitch 940 in the A category near the beach for 12 days. The pitches there are about 100 square meters and you have a direct view of the Baltic Sea. An employee or manager always comes and connects the power cable to the distribution box and writes down the electricity meter reading on the... day of departure at 10 am, as you have to leave the pitch at 11 am. Among the "locals" and "returning vacationers", pitch 940 is just called "the hole". Without a drive-on wedge, we could hardly align the caravan; a neighboring camper was kind enough to lend us one. Even when it rains, a lot of water collects in the "hole", the pitch is actually always damp. We wouldn't book this pitch again under any circumstances, because the orientation of the satellite antenna only makes a certain parking position possible, as there are tall trees in front of it in the direction of the sports field. After we had spent 6 days on this pitch, a huge Concorde luxury liner, probably 10 meters long, arrived and blocked our view. We were looking at a monstrous wall of cupboards, which was very unpleasant. However, as we read in another review, this Concorde liner is often on this site and apparently has special rights in the front row. Nowhere else in the vicinity does such a large motorhome have the opportunity to stand in the front row. We were very annoyed that we had to look out onto such a projectile. We complained about this at reception and were able to move to pitch 933 in the first row two days later. Now we no longer had anyone blocking our view and we had a nice view of the Baltic Sea again. From the pitches in category A it is a little further to the showers and toilets so a bike is definitely advisable. We have rarely seen such clean showers and toilets. The showers are open from 7am to 10pm. After that they are locked. There is a store on site for everyday needs and a great restaurant serving Greek, Italian and German cuisine. Highly recommended! The staff at the campsite are friendly and courteous, including Siggi, the boss :-) The dog beach right next to the category A pitches is very practical. 50 steps from the pitch and you're in the Baltic Sea. Ingenious. Eckernförde is probably 20 km away, Kappeln about 18 km. Damp can also be reached by bike via the beach path. There is a lot of free-roaming game there. You come across fallow deer, roe deer, rabbits and foxes every day. It should be noted that you should not leave a litter bin outside, at night the foxes come and make a killing field of it. So you have to keep the wastepaper bin in the caravan or tent. We had a lot of wasps, which were also very aggressive. That was a small disadvantage, but it's not the site's fault. All in all, we felt very comfortable and will definitely be back.

There are fixed times for dropping off garbage, which is annoying, because when the garbage gets full, you want to be able to empty it spontaneously.
Good campsite all round
Good location, well-kept complex, many leisure activities in the surrounding area: we have been to Booknis several times and would go there again.

Beautiful, but..... Update 2018
Update 2018: we tried again........ because of the location !!!!!! but it's not really positive. The only good thing was the great weather. The pitch has not changed positively, same infrastructure, only more expensive and as always still prepayment (??) so binding to the pitch without repayment in case... of early departure etc. In vacation area A, it felt like we were on a dog planet.......90% of guests with one or more dogs......... and, as always, hardly anyone complies with the obligations and rules; or do they no longer exist on Booknis. For the first time in all these years, no information about quiet times, waste disposal, opening hours etc. was handed out at reception!!! .....so nothing really positive..........but!!! the weather and the LOCATION!!! 2013 rating: --------------------- Large campsite located directly on the Baltic Sea, characterized by permanent campers. Pitches for tourists in different areas of the site. The pitches in area A by the sports facilities are particularly attractive and have a great view over the Baltic Sea. There are sufficient and clean sanitary facilities, although some of them are a long way away. Supermarket and restaurant on site with reasonable prices. Friendly and helpful staff. Now also favorable pitch conditions for early and late season. Varied and touristically attractive surroundings. On the negative side, the nightly disturbance of the peace until well into the early hours of the morning by roaring long-term campers, especially after parties once or twice a week in the club huts on the sports field, and the increasing number of ignorant dog owners, for whom the use of a leash on the site is a foreign concept despite sufficient signs. Signs are everywhere............ Parties with bonfires on the beach, which continue to disturb the peace until well after midnight with loud music and howling. The management makes an effort, but if even the employees see dogs running loose or violations and the owners or perpetrators do not respond....... The pitches are under water after continuous rain because there is insufficient drainage. In order to keep your feet dry, you should think about renovating them. Also, depending on the pitch, the connections for waste water are too high or too far away and cannot always be connected directly. We have spent every vacation there for the last 18 years, first with children and for the last few years as a couple, and don't know of any pitch that offers this wonderful view, but over time we no longer agree with the conditions for the "best time of the year" and will look elsewhere.

Great place with minimal weaknesses
I was there last week for a short trip and was really impressed by the site in most places. It started with the problem-free reservation, continued with the friendly reception and ended with a really well-kept pitch with clean and beautifully designed sanitary facilities. Despite the fact that the site... is relatively large, it is actually always quiet and I never spotted any speeders. My walk to the beach was about 80 steps, the gentle sound of the sea was a great way to fall asleep. It was just bad luck that there was no more space available in row 1 and a Concord liner completely blocked the view in front of my seat. All in all, I will definitely be going there more often - the surrounding area is simply beautiful for relaxing, cycling and visiting the surrounding area (Eckernförde / Damp / Kappeln nearby). What I didn't like so much was my pitch (940 in the A area). This pitch in particular has three disadvantages: very sloping and very damp and with only 5m of antenna cable and a tripod mast, satellite reception was very difficult to achieve (due to overgrowth). The moisture was always there, even after several dry days, because after the slope there is a short hollow and then the fence. Regarding the slope: I had placed my caravan on the rear edge in the same direction as the path with the drawbar facing the hill - the drawbar was already on the ground and the caravan was still not level. It wouldn't have worked with the drawbar facing the path because you would have had to put several wedges under one wheel - so it would have been impossible to erect the awning. Without help from a neighboring camper couple, I would probably have failed completely, because without a mover ... it would have looked like "unhook the caravan and turn it by hand, turn the car around, hitch it up again, maneuver" ... rather suboptimal in my eyes. And after it had rained on the day of departure in the morning, I probably wouldn't have been able to get out of there without a four-wheel drive. So: really sloping there and rather unsuitable for caravans over 6m overall length. But as I said, that only applies to this one particular pitch. Otherwise: really nice and well-kept - in the sanitary area I always had the feeling that you could eat off the floor. What could be improved would be the time when the shower water runs. It is started by pressing a button and then runs for a short time. A few seconds longer would be nicer, otherwise you have to press it quite often when rinsing off ;-) The store next to the restaurant is well equipped - I was really pleasantly surprised at what you can get there. Here, too, everything is very friendly and (as it's actually low season and not so busy) there's always the opportunity for a chat. I liked it - I'll definitely be back and then I'll take a suitable pitch ;-)

We had chosen a spot behind the dyke with water access nearby. It was really nice and relaxing. What I didn't like so much was that there was a lot of regulation. Garbage disposal every day only from 9:30-10 o'clock or that after 22 o'clock the showers and the dishwashing room are locked. Dishwashing... room ok, that could make noise and disturb the direct residents, but that showers are closed, I have never experienced. Otherwise you need a bike for this place or you have to walk a lot due to its size. Otherwise, the site has a lot to offer. Restaurant, children's entertainment, a store that was very well stocked, mini golf course, playgrounds. We liked it, but we wouldn't go there again.

Feel-good camp
Large, beautifully landscaped campsite with mainly permanent camper pitches and 4 pitch areas for vacation campers. Located directly on the natural beach (with dog beach), ideal swimming opportunity for children in the shallow Baltic Sea. Very friendly staff. Very clean sanitary buildings with large... shower cubicles. Great entertainment for children and regular events in high season. Well-stocked supermarket and good restaurant on site. We like to come back at any time of year (unfortunately closed in winter).

We were thrilled
We are totally thrilled with the beautiful site and the friendly staff. Although it was our first time camping and we were very skeptical, we are now totally convinced. The sanitary facilities are super clean, the shop has everything we need for our daily needs, our son (7 years old) immediately made friends and wanted to stay! Conclusion: We would love to come back! Thank you very much!

Booknis was the last stop on our tour through Schleswig-Holstein. I had been to the site 15 years ago and had fond memories of it. We had a pitch on the meadow by the beach (area A). The site is clean and well-kept. You can clearly see that the operators go above and beyond. The pitches are large enough,... but some pitches (last row of area A) are not easy to reach / maneuver with larger caravans. A mover is an advantage here. There is a large meadow for playing soccer, 2 badminton courts, tennis courts, table tennis, a playground and mini golf. The cleanliness also continues in the sanitary buildings. It felt like they were cleaned 3 times a day. The showers are nice and big and have a deep tub where the water can run off without flooding the front area. What is a little inconvenient is the fact that a groundsman comes to connect the electricity. But that's complaining on a high level. If you want to say something negative, then it is at most the restaurant on site. We had 2 pizzas there. Unfortunately, the taste of my pizza was rather neutral. However, my girlfriend had nothing to complain about. Booknis certainly hasn't seen the last of us.

Great campsite
Stayed at the campsite in September. For its size a very quiet, very well-kept place, friendly staff, would come back anytime. The campers and permanent campers were also very friendly. We felt very comfortable.
