The camping itself is nice and The facilities are OK.
The staff was friendly and helpfull, more about this a little later.
So why a bad note ?
This note is not for the camping itself but for the "FirstCamp" Company.
Let me explain:...
We arrived at 18:30, and the reception was allready closed with a paper on the door saying it closes at 17:00.
That's very early, especially when you think that Kalmar is a big city.
There was another paper on the door saying that you have to call the number +46 77 110 12 00 to get a place after 17:00
As I learned later this number is Firstcamp's callcenter for ALL Firstcamp sites in Sweden.
So I called, for a total of SEVEN times, after choosing the right options with the phone's keyboard, and each time the call ended with a message "We are encountering a problem and your call cannot be completed".
Well...
There was also a paper saying you can make a reservation and pay on FirstCamp's internet site, but only before 16:00...
In this case, once you have made your reservation and paid on this internet site, FirstCamp will send you an SMS, giving you the code to enter in the camping.
LUCKILY (for us), one person from the camping's staff arrived while I was trying to call FirstCamp for my reservation for the seventh time.
I explained her that I wasn't able to reach Firstcamp's callcenter, and finally she gave us a badge permitting us to enter the camping.
Otherwise we would have had to look elsewhere.
The staff explained us that the decision to close the reception of ALL swedish FirstCamp sites at 17:00 has been taken by the company, and that the problem that we encountered on the phone was due to not enough people at FirstCamp's callcenter, especially since all FirstCamp sites close at the same time, causing an increase in calls in the evening.
So shame on you Firstcamp to treat people so casually.

Sanitary house 4 with cooking facilities is new and topNegativne straneThere is the sanitary house 1 is very outdated and not very clean and the house 3 has a renovation backlog and needs to be cleaned better.Very beautifully situated campsiteThe location of the campsite is great. On a headland surrounded by water. We hardly had any mosquitoes, although we were there at peak mosquito season.
There is also a small supermarket at the reception where you can get bread rolls from 08:00. Also on Sundays. But you sometimes have to wait, as there... are only ever a few rolls on offer.
You can organize great tours from there. We went to an elk park 35 km away which was really great. Glassblowing is also close to the moose park. There is a James Bond Museum on the way.
From the campsite you can reach the city center, marina, cathedral or castle by bike along a great cycle path, 2 km away. Sanitary block 1 is very old and not very clean. Sanitary block 3 needs to be cleaned better and has too few toilets. Sanitary block 4 is great and very new.
The dog beach is the opposite of the bathing beach. Small but you can manage there. You can take a circular route around the campsite or go hiking. It ranges from 3.5 km to 5 km or 6.5 km. There is a climbing forest at the campsite.Automatski prevedeno. - Hartmut B.August 2019Dobre straneClose to the city, quiet.Negativne straneOld, dirty sanitary facilities, small SP.For 1 night o.k.Nordic Camping normally stands for quality. Unfortunately, this does not apply to the CP in Kalmar. The location is basically not bad, very quiet, the town is easy to reach. BUT: the sanitary facilities are not only old, but unkempt and even dirty. The organization on the CP is chaotic, the SP is sometimes... very small. We didn't find the staff unfriendly, but not very professional either. For 1 night to see Kalmar, the CP is ok, but not for more. It is then better to drive the 6 km over the bridge and use one of the many sites on Öland.Automatski prevedeno.

The location is very nice. Many bathing opportunities in the immediate vicinity. Kalmar city center can be reached by bike in about 10 minutes. The site is large, but also very spacious. The sanitary and kitchen facilities are unfortunately totally outdated and only very moderately maintained.Automatski prevedeno.
Harald B.June 2015Dobre straneQuiet, clean, spacious complex, lots of open spacesNegativne straneOnly a few places have satellite receptionCity square in the middle of the forest near the lakeWe are there for 4 nights and have been satisfied so far. The proximity to the city of Kalmar and the island of Öland offers many possibilities. The pitches are spread out in groups in the forest, so there are no huge crowds. Unfortunately, the forest often prevents satellite reception. However, W-LAN... is free of charge and available everywhere in sufficient strength. Showers and electricity are also included in the basic price. The sanitary facilities (several buildings spread across the site) are getting on in years, but are clean and maintained several times during the day. The paint is peeling here and there, so what? The shower water comes from the tap and the paint is on the outside. The small store offers everything for basic supplies, a huge shopping center is less than 4 km away. Swimming in the Baltic Sea (approx. 500 meters away), not tested by us. The restaurant listed in the ADAC camping guide 100 meters away is an absolute cheek. Completely closed for three days, opened today on Saturday without warning. We wanted to sit in the sun and drink a glass of wine and were cheekily rebuffed: "We only serve visitors to the concert today, do you have a guest card?". The place was only 50% full, that's no way to attract guests. The reception staff at the CP just shrugged their shoulders ignorantly. There was noise from partying and drunk people until 3am. Talking to the staff was ineffective as they were clearly powerless to stop their rampage. Never before have I been in a place where it was allowed to ride bikes and shout and scream drunkenly. All this from adults...after three nights we had to capitulate and move.Automatski prevedeno.

- Gunnar L.May 2013The site is located on the idyllic Stensö peninsula with beautiful walking paths, not far from Kalmar city center. For a publicly accessible town square with lots of walkers and joggers, the sanitary facilities are fine. Some of the pitches are nicely spread out in the forest. Андрей Д.July 2012The cost of camping is 210 SEK if you have a club card SCP "Camping Key Euroupe" (140 SEK). The territory is beautiful, near the lake, showers are included in the price. There is a large kitchen with electric stoves, microwaves, 2 dining tables. The sanitary blocks are very dirty. There is no toilet paper.
