We spent 6 days at the Tropical campsite. The site is in the middle of nature, surrounded by strips of forest. There are large pitches and the tranquillity of the site provides relaxation from the hustle and bustle of Tropical. The sanitary facilities are modern and clean, there are even bathtub rooms and there are dryers for hanging up wet bathing gear, which was great in the fall. The staff are hard-working and friendly. A free shuttle bus runs every half hour to the door of the Tropical. The children can run around in the forest strip, but there are also sports facilities. Conclusion: very nice, well-kept campsite.

I found the store & bistro on the square to be an imposition. It is large and offers little in the way of food, no fruit or vegetables, 80% junk and souvenirs. Bistro ? Doesn't deserve the name, they serve bockwurst ... Pizza .... So if you want to stay longer like us, you'd better take everything with you, because the prices are also out of this world, even cheeky. But there are fresh rolls for 60 cents each. That works. I didn't see any gas bottle exchanges. Take plenty with you here too.
Very nice spacious place
The course is very nice, somewhat confusingly laid out in circles. But after 2 days you find your way around.

Resort camping is not possible
We spent two nights at the camp in the Tropical Island Resort - we had a comfortable pitch with water and electricity on site.
We were on our way back after three weeks of camping in Austria and were perhaps spoiled... but unfortunately the camping resort is not up to scratch! Of course, the proximity... to the Tropical is good - there is a shuttle bus or, like us, you can get there by bike.
From our point of view, the camp is at the bottom of the league... just a few examples: Unkempt pitches - weeds >30cm high, wash house completely run down - wash basins and toilets partly covered with blue bags, almost all services defective/out of order such as dryer, children's bathroom, chemical toilet machine, scratched doors, no paper from all toilets tomorrow, ...
The store is ok. In the morning there are baked rolls and prices are ok.
And as always... if the site and the facilities are unkempt, people behave accordingly.
We've already seen a few drive-through and resort camps - unfortunately zero points here.
It's a shame, because it was probably once in top condition and is simply no longer maintained and only the money is extracted.
Conclusion: for 1-2 nights in the resort, the camp is fine due to its proximity to the Tropical - but please don't expect anything.

Once is enough...
We (2 adults + 2 children) were here during the fall break. Generally far too full. You can't get a lounger in the swimming pool and the noise level gets on your last nerve. The lack of staff is extremely noticeable everywhere. We particularly noticed the unclean toilets in the swimming pool and at the... campsite. On arrival we had to queue for 2 hours to check in. Reception at the campsite is not open, so everything is jammed at the swimming pool check-in. The campsite is very noisy. Most campers only arrive for a few days and use the time in the evening for parties. There are no barrier times, so there are always cars on the site. You won't find peace and quiet here. Gastronomy is just about okay. Price-performance ratio is not right. We have now seen it for the 2nd time, nothing has improved. Everything looks a bit used up. We definitely won't go here again. There are much nicer places for the money...

The facilities are good, and the price is also reasonable , however the reviews about loud and drunken disorder are All true . We have been here for three nights and Tonight the noise is outrageous . We have just had drunk teenagers screaming and chasing each other around our tent . The music was blaring until well after 12 am . Our kids are afraid of the noise . We are really easy going and understand people wanting to have fun but this is yobbish behavior and not a family campsite . The camp site is reasonably clean in the common areas but I have never seen or stood on so many cigarette butts in around 20 years since public bans came into place. This is a problem both in the campsite and in the actual water park . On the sand, in the dome and even beside the water slides . There are smokers and cigarette butts everywhere . Not great for young children who are toddling around . Another problem is the ants . I normally don’t get bothered by them but we have had several infestations in our tent over the past few days . It’s also really far from the dome , and a long walk if the free shuttle bus is not around . We caught it once over the three days as t he routes were not frequent . Save your money and use the overnight car park who’ve used much closer to the dome . You will not get noisy drunkards running around.

The cigarette butts, the noise and the lack of fresh produce to buy in the camping shop . All processed and unhealthy . The distance from the camp site to the dome and the non frequency of shuttle bus . Walking in 30 degree heat with a six year old was a challenge . 25 minutes from pitch to dome .

Right next to Tropical Island in a quiet location in the middle of a pine forest. Pleasant pitch size (standard pitch) with electricity connection. Entrance to TI and shuttle bus included. Small store for the essentials on site,

The check-in at the resort area is not staffed, so you have to go to the main entrance of TI to register and queue up with the other overnight guests (waiting time for us about 1 hour).
Easter in the tropics & Berlin
Our stay in the second week of Easter was mainly to visit Tropical Island and also to go to Berlin for a day.

Unfortunately, as the registration desk at the resort is closed, you have to queue for overnight guests at the TI. With so many camping and mobile home guests, it would certainly be better to... open the registration desk at least temporarily to avoid this. Once the pitch map had been handed out, you were on your own again to find it (no other staff on site). The paths are all well developed and paved. Our standard pitch was with coarse chippings between two hedges, the 25m CEE cable was just enough for the power connection. The pegs for the storm strap on the canopy were difficult to get into the ground.

A large sanitary block with additional sink, washing machine, tumble dryer (unfortunately one of two displays was defective), family washroom, cooking facilities and of course showers, WC and washing facilities. The second small sanitary building is only equipped with toilets. The store sells everything you need and souvenirs, and breakfast is also available.

For the kids there is a street soccer field, low ropes course, archery, beach volleyball court, playground and a gym (which was unfortunately closed). Children can move around freely on the site as there is little traffic except at departure times (11 am).

The free shuttle bus to the TI every half hour is definitely a positive feature, as is the shuttle bus in the other direction to the BRAND train station to take a detour to Berlin.

Long waiting time at check in (4h not unrealistic). Due to previous use, the floor is impenetrable. Pegs, stone nails or screws even with a drill could not be sunk deep into the ground.
Tropical feeling on your doorstep
We visited the Tropical Island Resort in the first week of the Easter holidays in Lower Saxony. As not so many federal states were on vacation yet, Tropical Island and the resort were not really fully booked.

The pitch can be occupied from 11 a.m., but unfortunately you can also be on the pitch until... 11 a.m., which can lead to conflicts if one person needs a little longer and the other is perhaps there a little earlier. Whether the pitch is really free is not checked in advance.
Registration, there is a separate registration desk at the resort, but it is (was) not manned when we arrived. Unfortunately, there was no sign at the entrance, so most of us drove to the resort registration desk first and then continued on towards Tropical Island.
The parking lot assigned to the caravans is normally subject to a charge, but I have no idea to what extent they control this. In any case, I wasn't prepared to take a ticket to be able to register.
To register you had to go to the main entrance of Tropical Island, halfway around the hall. I was lucky, the queue for registration was inside and I only had to wait 75 minutes before I could check in (I arrived on Saturday around 12 noon).
On Sunday, the queue for check-in was at least four times as long. I don't think a 4 hour wait, as has been described elsewhere, is unrealistic.

Access to the actual parking space was sufficiently good and wide. The pitch was easy and quick to drive on and was paved. Electricity, water and waste water were right next to the pitch.

The wash house was sufficiently clean. Not the most modern but easy to use. Unfortunately the showers were not the best. No water pressure, went out again after 10 seconds and not that warm either. I know better showers.

Admission to Tropical Island is included in the price, parking is free.

Camping including Tropical Island
The campsite is very easy to reach as it is close to the highway. The roads could be a little wider in places. Checking in is very easy directly at the campsite. Pitches are not so easy to find in the dark, but this should not be a problem in daylight. The wash house is centrally located and equipped... with everything you need (cooking, washing up, chemical toilet, long water hose, family bathrooms, showers, hairdryer, clothes horse, lockers, washing machine, tumble dryer, lockable fridges for tent guests etc.) Cleanliness is good. A bit dated in places but everything is still within reason. There is the possibility to get bread rolls in the morning and also other small things that were forgotten at home. All in all a nice campsite for young and old with lots of possibilities.

Top campsite for a visit to Tropical Island
We stayed here for 3 nights including 4 days entry to Tropical Island. The campsite is large but still quiet. Lots of playgrounds for children. Free bus service between TI and CP. Supermarket with breakfast facilities and everything you need. Large wash house in the front area with family bathrooms and... towel rack for drying towels. The path is a little further here. Small toilet block in the middle of the site. Both houses were clean and well maintained. Few trees and shade on the pitches.

Tropical islands reminded us a little of the trumanshow. All in all worth seeing. Not exactly cheap but definitely worth the price.

Site with free bus connection to Tropical Island. Very good sanitary facilities, volleyball court, children's playgrounds and much more. Campsites 3 and 4 are extremely difficult to navigate. Better with a tent only. Otherwise great. The price is extremely fair including the Tropical Island entrance fee. Unfortunately the washing machines didn't work when we were there. Annoying.

The facts: Arrival with caravan unproblematic, registration/deregistration can take a long time depending on the time of day, pitch and infrastructure are good, bus line to the TI approx. 5 minutes journey time, 20-30 min walk to the TI - depends on which route you choose :-), pitch price is OK, as entry to the TI is also included.

Great campsite with connection to Tropical Island
Very nice, spacious campsite. This time we weren't there with our folding caravan, but rented a lodge tent. Unbeatable value for money. Lovely playgrounds on the campsite and a climbing park in the immediate vicinity that doesn't need safety lines (low climbing park).

Short vacation at Tropical Islands
When it became clear that our post-Easter vacation would not take us to Italy but to Walsrode (Heide Park and bird park), we didn't expect the weather gods to chase us away. Tropical Islands seemed perfect for bad weather. So we called the park to see if we could come. The nice man on the phone told... us that there was certainly nothing left, only to be surprised to find out that there was still room. I don't know whether this was a tactic or reality? In any case, we booked the two nights immediately. Between Berlin and this site, we made another stopover and had the pleasure of experiencing an unsuccessful campsite, the name of which I won't mention here. In complete contrast to Tropical Islands Camping. We received a friendly welcome at reception (located in a former refurbished NVA hangar) and quickly registered. We were given a kind of VIP wristband to get in and out of Tropical Islands quickly. Our parking space was still occupied. We would have been entitled to it from 11 am. At 11:15 it was free. The guests in front of us weren't in such a hurry. No matter! We weren't either. We then took the transfer bus to the bathing paradise. It runs every half hour, except late at night. A great service. With the wristband, it was a quick trip to the hall. Everything was perfect until then. There was a small weak point here. The lockers cost extra for camping guests. Not really a big problem, but you have to know that. It is not allowed to bring food and drinks here. Of course you can buy everything everywhere, but the prices are relatively high. That's logical, because the million-dollar property itself and 600 employees have to be paid. For two nights at the campsite, you get three days' admission included. If you add that up, the campsite is actually almost free. Really very generous! I hope it stays that way! The sanitary facilities were great! Everything was super clean. There was nothing missing. I particularly liked the towel drying racks. Very helpful. Someone has thought about it. The floor of the pitch was made of frost protection material. I wondered if you could hammer pegs into it, so I didn't even try. On the day of departure, we left the pitch early and parked in the parking lot in front of Tropical Islands. That way we could stay there for the rest of the day, pay there at the end and didn't have to go back to reception. Everything was wonderful at Tropical Islands itself, except for the fact that we encountered very few friendly staff. From that point of view, we didn't feel particularly welcome. However, this has no effect on the rating of the campsite, as we were treated very kindly here. Overall, we can say that we had a very nice short vacation. The combination of campsite and water park was very successful. I can only recommend it!

We were there with our dog. Great area for a walk. Regular bus transfer between the campsite and Tropical Islands swimming paradise. We will definitely be back.

Really great place in the shadow of Tropical Island
We, family, 2 adults and 2 children were there in February for a long week to visit Tropical Island. The site is about 1 km from the TI in a quiet location on the same grounds as the TI, an old air force and aircraft base. The site is generously laid out and beautifully designed with tipi tents, mobile... homes etc. The pitches are quite spacious, the whole site was very well maintained and clean, as were the sanitary facilities. In the sanitary facilities you can also dry your towels etc. in the hallway. There are great, exciting playgrounds. The check-in was super friendly and informative. The reception with attached large store, souvenirs, bakery has good opening hours until 9.00 pm. We had snow, there is a gritting and clearing service on the site. As an overnight guest you have some advantages such as free parking directly at the entrance to the TI. Fast VIP entrance, no waiting. The TI can also be fully used from the morning on the day of arrival and until midnight on the day of departure. The shuttle bus runs every hour from the Cp to the TI. The price for Cp and entry to the TI is unbeatable. The campsite was also very busy in February. The place is really great and recommendable and actually much too good to only go there because of the TI.

No campsite for the sake of camping
Not really a real campsite...
... but the "camping section" of Tropical Islands. There are actually only people there who want to go to Tropical Island. Just like us. The site even offers a few leisure activities. All good so far and in keeping with the good standard of Tropical Island. The many mobile homes for hire were a bit annoying.... Lots of people who wanted to swim, but not people who wanted to camp. As a result, they were criss-crossing all the pitches. But: we were there for the "dome" - and will definitely be back!
