"Across the city and the Atlantic in the Bay of Biscay - We spontaneously booked a place for a week on site at the beginning of September. Very friendly welcome (Spanish, English or French; some German). Pitches separated by hedges. There are some "bungalows" on the site (in my opinion, this is no longer camping) - but this is not a problem. International visitors, but also many Spaniards (which in my view speaks very positively for the site). It's best to take a bike to the beach (approx. 8 minutes). There are 2 very nice beaches in Zumaia. Both have a café/bar and showers on the beach. We would love to come back!

"Good stopover - Quite remote - the walk to the village is not recommended for those with walking difficulties. Restaurant ok, but youth hostel offer... Very clean sanitary facilities, friendly staff. Nice view.

"Good starting point for the Basque Country - Everything is new here, beautiful pitches, new clean sanitary building, clean washing-up facilities, a small restaurant, mostly friendly staff. The site is situated on a hill above the town, very quiet. There is a footpath to the train station and bus to San Sebastian (approx. 10 minutes). The town itself is a 20 to 25 minute walk. There are some very good restaurants here, interesting geological formations, a sandy beach, fantastic waves and hiking opportunities

"not to recommend - We actually planned to stay for two nights but decided within the first day to stay only one because it took only one day to visit everything of interest within and around the town. So when I went to the reception I was told I could not get the money for the second night back due to a change in the cashier system two weeks ago. So there was no way for a cancellation! I must say I did not believe the unfriendly man at the reception. Therefore we finally paid a double price for an already expensive night (28 Euro for mid season without electricity, which would have cost another 5,50 € per day). And the pool area was also still closed. The camping side is located on a hill in the industrial areas which does not really disturb. But there is almost no shade on the place. Beside all that there is nothing to do on the campsite. Only the sanitary facilities are modern and absolutely clean. Result: We can not recommend this place.

"poor treatment - I will share my painful visit in this family campsite, after booking and confirm that could be 2 or 3 nights and pay 1 in advance, when we arrived we were forced to do 3 and if we wanted to leave before it was our problem. Doing the cheking my 6 year old son was hurt in his installation a park with elastic mats, I asked for ice and he told me that he was not a pharmacy in very bad manners that he could not give me an aspirin and I had to buy a bag of ice 2.5 € he charged me, I mean family camping has little if you can not give a minimum aid as he told me that he sold betadine bandages but could not give anything ... amazing!!!!! With all this tense situation he told us that by right of admission he would throw us out of the campsite at 9 o'clock at night on August 18, all full of people and without any other campsite. We filed a complaint of course and we were told that he was a very rude and unscrupulous man. When the police came and said that my son with a foot like a ball had jumped out of his office that was not so bad and saw that the older vehicle and notice them to look at him that he had nothing, when the poor guy took him out in his arms and could not support because when we returned to Tarragona at night we went to the emergency room and had a sprained foot. We had to leave arriving at 5 in the morning to our house demoralized by this bad person. AFTER LEAVING US IN A BAD WAY HE DIDN'T EVEN PAY US THE RESERVATION, HE IS A THIEF, HE TOOK OUR MONEY!!!! THE POLICE SHOWED US TWO AREAS OF CAMPER IN THE SAME POLYGON WHERE THE CAMPSITE IS AND THE NAUTICAL AREA WITHOUT PROBLEM!!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO DEAL WITH THIS GENTLEMAN!!!!!!

"Yes and no... - We stayed at Camping Zumaia as a family with a dog for a few nights in August 2016. Top and grade 1 for the sanitary facilities, dishwashing and washing facilities. Sufficient, new, beautiful ... you can't say anything. Almost only local vacationers. The location is rather challenging for families without a car when it comes to excursions. There are buses and trains nearby to Zarautz and San Sebatian, but you also have to get to the station. The site is located in a really unattractive industrial area on the edge of Zumaia on a hill. The pitches don't really have any shade and are laid out as terraces. You can have peace and quiet, but this is rather random and not reliable, depending on whether there are groups of young people partying and bawling half the night. It is also possible to carry out demanding activities that require light at night when the square is illuminated. The Orrua restaurant is not recommended unless you just want a drink... totally overpriced and not really tasty. To take the dog for a walk, you have to walk down the hill and back up again. Conclusion: It was okay, but we wouldn't go there again and we can't recommend it either, except for passing through.

Profil

Camping Bungalows Zumaia is located in Zumaia, one of the most beautiful villages of the coast of Gipuzkoa. Surrounded by green mountains, two beautiful beaches, with spectacular views of the Basque Coast Geopark , where you can enjoy the Flysch …and the Karst. You can also visit the old town, the marina, and discover the Basque cuisine in the restaurants and bars. Enjoy your holidays in our campsite with familiar atmosphere and tranquility. You will find lots of activities to do during your stay among us. The new family campsite has modern and functional facilities, professional service and a long list of activities where the whole family can enjoy. The campsite is distributed in hillside terraces of grass. All plots are 70m2 and separated by hedges. The plots have electricity, water tap and some of them drainage too. Its location in the hillside of mount Basusta, gives it a magnificent view of Mount Artadi and its great Mediterranean wood. Our campsite has 5 types of bungalows. 3 of them are adapted to people with physical functional diversity, with capacity from 2/3 up to 4/6 people. Perfectly integrated into the surrounding landscape, their design, materials quality, along with the equipment, the bungalows offer a comfortable and friendly stay. Bathroom facilities are totally equipped and adapted for people with physical functional diversity. Furthermore, in the laundry area you will find washing machines, dryer and sinks. In the pool area the children will specially enjoy swimming while adults sunbathe in the solarium. There is a children’s playground. The sports centre in the village is 15 min away where customers can play paddle, tennis, football and so on In the bar-restaurant, next to the reception, you can taste combination plates or an extensive menu of plates and take away. There is a small supermarket with basic products and typical products of the area.
