When booking at the machine in front of the barrier, it is unfortunately not clear that there is no toilet here.
There is a toilet on the beach, but unfortunately no shower. We would like to rinse off the salt water.
We went on to Zumaia in the Spanish Basque country. I took out travel cancellation insurance and forwarded all the necessary documents. After a long email correspondence, I received a message from the campsite that all the documents were complete and that the money would be transferred to me. To... date, however, I have not received a reply to my last e-mail (10 days ago, the campsite undertakes to reply within 72 hours during the low season) or the money. Hot water for showering was a matter of luck, hot water for rinsing was not available at all. Some of the lighting in the shower/wash cubicles did not work at all. Approx. 50%. Families from Germany who are tied to the alternating vacations, almost impossible to book.Tourterelles - very disappointingWe have been camping there almost every year for over 20 years now and have been through several changes of ownership. It got worse from year to year. Now we get the 2nd year (2017+2018) no place. New owner again since last year. Hardly bookable anymore, very noisy because of the surf camps. Even in the small town of Vielle-Saint-Girons-Plage, many stores and restaurants were not yet open. The location is great. Pitches in the middle of the forest, very nice beach, also for dogs. The sanitary facilities... were fine. There were a few groups of young surfers on the site, but it was always quiet. The reception staff were very friendly. Sylvia H.August 2015PozitívumokGreat beach, very dog-friendly, clean sanitary facilities, clean pool, large forest for running and walkingNegatívumokNo shopping facilities, no restaurant, no program in the off-seasonDirect beach location, surfer spotWe were there in the last week of high season in the first week of low season 2015 with 2 older adults, 2 young adults and 2 herding dogs. The place is perfect for us older people and the dogs. Hustle and bustle from the surf camps during the day, absolute silence from 11pm. The walk to the beach is... over a dune, quite strenuous, but the beach is worth the walk. Spacious and not overcrowded. The pitches in the pine forest are sometimes quite cramped, so you definitely need to book in advance if you have a large caravan. Animation program only in high season. No camping store, you can only buy croissants and baguettes in the morning and evening and (bad) pizza in the evening. If you need drinks, you have to walk 1 km out of the campsite to a small shopping/restaurant mile. The nearest supermarket is 12 or 18km away. Very nice clean pool area with heated main pool. Apart from an old one, there are 3 very clean sanitary blocks. The young adults got bored after a few days because there is neither a village nor a beach promenade or similar to stroll around.Automatikusan lefordítva.- Stefan S.September 2014PozitívumokClean and well-kept; very quiet in the part of the site with pitches with electricity.NegatívumokHardly any shopping facilities nearby; very long walk to the beach with childrenBeautiful family vacation on a dream beachWe were with 2 small children (under 3 years) in the first 3 weeks of September on the site. The site is very quiet if you choose the part with electricity. In the part of the campsite with the pitches without electricity there are all the surf camps and so it can sometimes be a bit noisy there. The... sanitary facilities are well maintained and clean. The only disadvantage is that the infrastructure is very modest in the low season: Bakery is only open from 8:00 to 12:00, other facilities are completely lacking. On the other hand, the beach is a dream, even if it is a long walk over the dune with small children.Automatikusan lefordítva.
- Carola M.August 2014PozitívumokIdeal place for surfing, meeting people and partyingNegatívumoktoo loud, not a place for those seeking peace and quietToo loud for a family vacationWe, 2 adults + 2 kids, were there with our tent at the end of August and unfortunately had a pitch right next to the beach volleyball court. People played and cheered there until 12 o'clock at night when the floodlights were on. There were also several surf camps there that held their parties in the... evening/night. It was only reasonably quiet during the day. The sanitary facilities were cleaned twice a day, but were dirty again a short time later as they were simply too small for the many people. You regularly had to queue at the toilets. We then left the site and chose a quieter and cheaper place.Automatikusan lefordítva.

The site is HUGE, but directly behind the dunes with its own access path to the beach. Sanitary facilities were ok and clean. That is good. Bad on the other hand: The competence and friendliness of the reception was completely unacceptable.... The price was overpriced. The pitches are cramped. There are several (!) surf camps on the site itself. The atmosphere is therefore good, but the surfers organize parties in the evenings that can be heard far beyond the camp boundaries. So if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is not the place for you. However, if you want to mingle with the young crowd, get to know lots of people and party, then the place is ideal. Although we are still young and party-ready, we opted for a different site due to the expensive price, night-time noise and unfriendly staff.Automatikusan lefordítva.- Romy G.July 2012Stayed here in high season with a caravan and three small children under 5 and paid 70 euros per night. The toilets have no toilet seat and there is no toilet paper. The sanitary facilities are also too small for the high season. Since there is only 1 "new" sanitary building, there is a very large rush... here and it looks accordingly. You really can't use the other sanitary blocks, especially with small children. The site is characterized by bungalows and mobile homes, which are located on the straightest and most unsandy areas, which would be most suitable for caravans. we had to leave the poll at 1 pm because the lifeguard had to take a break and there was no replacement, although there is a sign in the poll area that there is no supervision by a lifeguard. After 11/2 hours the poll was reopened. And that in the high season. It was also very noisy in the evening until 12 noon. Achim S.May 2012A beautiful spot in the shady forest, a few steps through the dunes to the sea - but then you are on what is probably one of the most beautiful beaches in the world - but without shade, which you have to provide yourself. The high waves are ideal for surfers and surf schools, but dangerous for small... children. However, the pool at the campsite is quite small for the large complex. Very noisy at night - and this is also due to the site employee and her relatives. It's a shame that you can only feel comfortable there if you're noisy.
