We had a great comfy pitch at the back, the wash house was only a few meters away, it was clean.
The operators were all very nice and friendly, fresh bread rolls were available to order in the morning.
We didn't try the restaurant in the 3 days.
Ideal for dog owners and hikers, many tours can be started from there.

Der Betreiber hat wohl aufgegeben hier noch was zu machen. Für das ältere Publikum schon Initiativen aber noch länger für Familien mit Kinder... geeignet. Ob es Gäste waren uder machbaren die sonntags von morgens bis Abend die technomusik an hatten wissen wir nicht aber der Bass auf volle stärke den ganzen Tag schon nervig.
Der Shop war komplett leer nichts zum trinken oder sonst Proviant Kleinlichkeiten….

It was irritating when we booked that we could only book online and had to pay the total amount in advance. I've never experienced that in 50 years of camping. But ok. We booked anyway.
When we arrived... at the site, however, we were very disappointed. There were hundreds of digger wasps in the area of the pitches around the sanitary facilities. They weren't aggressive but they were a nuisance. The sanitary facilities were very small and only had 2 men's and 2 women's showers and 2 wash cubicles each which, like the entire sanitary facilities, were in an unclean state. One of the 3 ladies toilets was usually locked, toilet paper was often not available and spiders were hanging from the ceiling. The disabled toilet was also often locked. The taps were so short that it was impossible to wash your hands. The sports facilities are in a miserable and dirty condition. Access to the lake is possible via a ladder. However, the rungs are made of thin round material and not steps. This makes even getting in painful.
This is a recurring theme throughout the entire site. This is incomprehensible, as there would certainly have been time to put the course in good condition during the corona-related lockdown. The junior manager is, I believe, on duty around the clock. But instead of doing a lot of work himself, he would be better advised to check the work of the employees and thus improve the condition of the place. Unfortunately, the food in the restaurant didn't make us ecstatic either, but it was reasonable for the prices. When we had to leave a day early at the end of our vacation, we unfortunately had to pay the full price. Here, too, a little goodwill would have been good for the place.

Cleanliness:

All dilapidated and partly unplayable. There was glass and garbage everywhere. If you don't want to repair something, you should tear it down.
No place for children to play.
Even the steps to the swimming pond... should be urgently replaced. Very dangerous for children.
The garbage containers should be emptied more often.
After the first night, we had everything edible that was in the awning eaten by mice and mouse droppings.
-Sanitary facilities:
The sanitary facilities were partly dirty. There was a strong smell of faeces and urine everywhere. This was probably also due to the fact that the sink for the mobile toilets was placed openly in the sanitary area, without a door or separate entrance. Directly in the middle of the entrance area, you get the smells "blown" into your nose. Poorly chosen location.
The showers and toilets could be in urgent need of renovation.
Cleaning staff are probably also being cut back. Once a day is NOT enough. It looks accordingly.
Pitches:
We were lucky enough to be a bit out of the way. This gave the children plenty of space to play in the meadow. All the neighbors' children could at least have fun in an alternative way.
Catering:
Very friendly staff welcome you to the Sägemühle restaurant, where you can eat and drink well.
Hiking:
1 km from the campsite is the Karlstalschlucht gorge. A beautiful, highly recommended circular walk along the stream, suitable for all ages.
Excursions:
The city of Kaiserslautern is about 20 km away. The city offers many activities, leisure pool, garden show (fair in summer), cinema etc., clubs and bars.
Conclusion:
Unfortunately it was not for us as we have children and the offer was very poor.

The whole thing started with the booking, when Mrs. Reuber took care of the booking for us by phone and did not insist on the online booking. We really enjoyed the Friday evening barbecue, music and good atmosphere.... We would also like to emphasize the Saturday evening when we wanted to eat on the terrace, but it was completely occupied (according to Corona regulations). Unfortunately we had not booked and so Mrs. Nothof (senior) offered us a place at her table. Here we had wonderful conversations with the senior boss, had a lot of fun, laughed a lot and had a wonderful time. Unfortunately, the evening passed far too quickly. When we arrived, we were told to just stand at the back of the meadow. So we stood on the meadow and wondered, together with our neighbors, where the comfort was. The meadow was getting fuller and fuller, as the extended weekend... meant that there was a large crowd, so we were standing in quite a tight spot.
We were slightly shocked when we used the sanitary facilities for the first time. Not a trace of soap or disinfectant.
After the first corona lockdown, we had already been to other campsites where the hygiene measures were exemplary. The fact that there wasn't even soap available always bothered us, in Corona times it's a no go.
The general cleanliness could also be improved.
We didn't feel comfortable on the pitch, so we left early.

Surrounded by the many trees of the Palatinate Forest, this site offers everything nature lovers are looking for: wooded hills and valleys, meadows, streams, hiking and biking trails, a bathing lake. The pitches are partly by... the lake (without dogs), or in several fields bordered by hedges (with dogs), many of them with connections for water and waste water. A very well-kept and well-run restaurant with local and international dishes provides the decisive feel-good factor in terms of beer garden and catering. There is also a small Movera store, where some groceries are also sold. Very kind and friendly people make every effort to meet your every wish. If something doesn't fit, it will be made to fit. Unfortunately there is ONLY a waste disposal near the reception, so take a bike ;-)
There is plenty of fun for children.
And especially in Corona times there is a massive... lack of hygiene measures in the sanitary building.
Nearby shopping facilities are available in Trippstadt or a little further away in Kaiserslautern.

We were able to choose our reserved pitches (booked in January) ourselves. The registration was easy and friendly. The pitches are big enough. But what followed is not worthy of a 4 star CP. I have not seen such toilets in the last 20 years, 2... toilets at the lake area and 2 toilets near the registration that can never be enough for this size. Toilet paper never available even after repeated requests nothing was done. Showers were also too few no matter what time you came you had to queue. Not to mention the cleanliness and hygiene. Danger of accidents in the washroom Mirrors were smashed and damaged. Then on departure the next super gau, we had to wait 1 hour until the boss had finished the bill and then said there would still be an amount open although I had already paid in the year when I made the reservation, nothing could be found. There is no separate parking lane for registration and no sign that the reception is in the restaurant, which could be improved with a small notice. The footpaths to the sanitary facilities were unfortunately not free of snow, so there is a... risk of slipping. The sanitary facilities are not state-of-the-art (they don't have to be), but they are tidy and clean. There are dispensers for poop bags, but unfortunately they are not stocked, and unfortunately there are no garbage cans for disposal. As dogs are not allowed in the area by the lake, it would make sense to provide disposal facilities at the pitches where they are allowed. The pitch was large enough, electricity nearby. WLAN reception unfortunately only possible within a small radius of the main house. Not a problem, but could also be improved, as reception is generally limited due to the location.
