Nature and wine lovers, as well as gourmets, will get their money's worth. The old town of Sommerach with various great restaurants and wine taverns is right next to the campsite.
Sanitary facilities and pitches are very clean. Great pitches... for short breaks...without unhitching.
Unfortunately it is advertised with super Wlan...we had none...despite several comments no reaction or accommodation. The campsite was full to capacity over the holidays, but the peace and quiet on the campsite made it a great place to relax.
There is only one sanitary building on the site, so it had to be cleaned while it was in use. But... a big compliment to the staff, it was always very clean and there was very little disruption during cleaning.
The site is very suitable for cycling tours along the Main.

which are usually not mentioned at all or only at the end of a review. Likewise with the people who are responsible for the cleanliness of the facility......
because it is only through the interaction of the staff that the pitch/sanitary facilities... are clean and well maintained!
A stroll through the nearby towns such as Schweinfurt or Kitzingen.....
is highly recommended. The cycle paths either along the Main or through the vineyards (with wonderful views of the Main valley) compensate cyclists for their efforts.... E-bikers are not allowed to enjoy this view (because no pain... no gain)!
There is no need to comment on the advantages of Franconian cuisine, fish and wine bars anyway!
Worth mentioning is the public bookcase.....
for almost everyone from 8 to 80
from light reading to thick tomes.
The high marks in the other reviews are well deserved. The Bavarians had good reasons to incorporate Franconia! Yes, we are also usually at least once on a campsite in Franconia..... why....?

The whole team is very nice and helpful. The cleaning team goes to great lengths to keep everything clean! Which is not so easy because there is no closure during cleaning time, that should somehow be reconsidered. I don't think it's very nice for the... cleaning staff either!
They didn't have it so easy anyway, because I've never experienced campers being so absolutely inconsiderate on a campsite! The toilets were mostly dirty, there was paper everywhere on the floor, so it was really an imposition for the cleaning staff and decent campers. Perhaps it was due to the very busy through traffic.
Unfortunately, the campers who were only there for 1/2 nights were generally very inconsiderate, it was very loud until late in the evening when we were showering, we had our pitch near the sanitary facilities.

It is completely unclear when you have to book in this system, and there are obviously no spaces available on pitch 2 at any time. I tried to book until 2032 and nothing worked. I already consider booking beyond a year to be cheeky, and this is topped here!A great place, the booking system ended our passion for itFor many years we enjoyed visiting this campsite with our family and made every effort to be there at least a week before the Bavarian vacations so that we had any chance of getting a pitch on pitch 2. The booking system has now also destroyed these chances. What a shame. We were last there in 2020 and tried to book online in 2021 and 2022 and failed. We stayed on the newer part of the site. The pitches are nice and big. Electricity connection directly on the pitch and fresh water in the immediate vicinity. Unfortunately, you had to go further for the gray water. Bread roll service and the... essentials were available at reception. The new sanitary building on pitch 1 is excellent. Great showers with plenty of storage space and large wash cubicles. The campsite was quite busy in the first week. We would have liked the toilets to be cleaned more than once a day due to the high frequency of use. The location of the campsite is great, directly on the Main and partly on a lake. There were also plenty of opportunities to walk the dogs. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. The CP restaurant offers simple dishes, also with changing daily specials. We liked it and the landlord always had a good saying. The surrounding area is ideal for cycling and canoeing and the old town of Sommerach is within walking distance.

It was very quiet, but during our stay the pitch was only occupied to a maximum of 30%.
The sanitary facilities are relatively new, very nice, spacious and always very clean, even in the last 2 weeks before the winter rest.
Ideal for hiking, cycling, boating and... for wine lovers.
Unfortunately, as on many pitches, there is no gray water drainage at a reasonable distance.
On the premium pitches there is also only a drain for waste water hoses; it is not possible to pour a container into the small pipe.

I don't know of any other sanitary block as clean and of such high quality. In general, the whole complex is very well maintained and clean.
