We stopped here on our way back from the south. A reservation makes perfect sense! In terms of price, 20.50 (as of 9/22) is normal.
We really liked the promenade and the easy access to the supermarkets. The reception is very friendly. You can also get help with the pizza service on request ;-)
The sanitary... facilities are adequate and well maintained for a site of this size. One positive thing I noticed when I looked up was that it was very airy and there were no cobwebs. This means that not only the floor is mopped.
The pitches are big enough, but no double-axle caravans are allowed on them because they are too small for that. Electricity is available at the pitch, water at the tap.
There is a large roller shutter gate for security, which is closed at night, and a small gate for pedestrians that can be opened at any time using a code.

Well-maintained municipal CP directly on the Rhone cycle path with the town center within walking distance. Supermarkets in the immediate vicinity. Very friendly staff, especially young people from Germany. You can hear the national road passing by on the other side of the campsite.

Conveniently located transit site
The campsite is conveniently located near the A7 and was probably therefore fully booked despite the low season. It is located directly on the Rhone and the pretty town is within easy walking distance. The site was apparently recently cut in half - an indoor swimming pool is being built on the cut-off... half - but the sanitary facilities were still at the limit of their capacity. The pitches are level and shaded by mature trees. The reception is very friendly and well organized.

Beautifully situated campsite directly on the Rhone. Close to the Autoroute du Soleil (A7). Very friendly, helpful operator couple. Pitches with plastic mats (similar to grass pavers), clean sanitary facilities. WIFI free of charge. Nice place with good restaurants, very easy to reach on foot via the promenade running between the campsite and the Rhone. Small supermarkets 100 m from the site

Always happy to return...
Found it by chance last year as a transit CP. We are here for the second time this year. Unfortunately, it has since been reduced in size by half and the public outdoor pool (which we were allowed to use free of charge) and the playground no longer exist. Nevertheless, we feel very comfortable here again,... not least because of the friendly reception staff (who even speak German) and the great location right on the Rhône. The RN7 and the train don't bother us, we are happy about the Lidl supermarket opposite and the free W-LAN. We think 21 EUR for 4 people and Ww is a good price.

Street noise, minimal facilities, unreasonable prices

Very small campsite with minimal facilities (has recently been drastically downsized, so some of the earlier comments are no longer up to date) - the only advantage is that everything is very new; how the site got its stars is beyond me. Although the town center with shopping facilities is only a 10-minute... walk away, the location right next to the very busy Route National 7 causes enormous traffic noise even at night, plus the railroad. The price of EUR 15.50 per night for one person with a tent and bicycle in the low season is simply outrageous.

The "Les Lucs" campsite is located in the beautiful little town of Tain-l'Hermitage, directly on the legendary N7 (and also on the A7, which leads to the Autoroute du Soleil), which has been taking people on vacation to the south for decades. The site is located directly in the village, between the RN... and the Rhône. Directly adjacent is the piscine municipal, to which you get free entry when you check in at the campsite. The site has spacious pitches, some of which are slightly uneven and you can choose one of them. It is basically a typical transit site in terms of location, facilities and size, but many a camper stayed a second or third night in summer 2013 (including me). The sanitary facilities are located in the middle of the site and I have also taken a picture of their condition. They are reasonably clean and hot water is - as everywhere in France - of course included. However, if the area is fully occupied, there will be a shortage of showers and toilets. The rest of the outdoor facilities appear well maintained and clean. A big advantage is the swimming pool next door, which is also well managed and kept clean. It still breathes a little of the spirit of the smart sixties, and you can admire many a photo from that era on the walls of the changing rooms. The emphasis here is on personal hygiene and - of course - swimwear (no shorts). Here, as on the campsite, the staff are very courteous, polite and friendly. Tain-l'Hermitage offers small-scale local amenities with bakeries, butchers and cafés etc., diagonally opposite the campsite there is a small discount store with a petrol station (Netto), and about two kilometers away by bike at the traffic circle on Avenue de la Buterne there is a large, new Intermarché, also with a petrol station. Cycling along the Rhône is a wonderful way to explore the area, with small stalls selling local fruit and wines along the way in summer. Heading north, you might want to cycle to the Loire / Ardèche departmental border, cross the Rhône there and cycle back on the other side. On the other side of the river, you will come across the rugged, millennia-old gorges of the Rhône valley, which have been settled and reclaimed for centuries. Tournon-sur-Rhône is a great place for a stroll and an ice cream, but it is a crowded tourist town with high prices for all goods and services - so be careful. There, the Rhône can be crossed again on two bridges, so that you arrive back near the campsite. This is highly recommended for one to three nights, not least because of the unrivaled price.
