Like a park
At a highway rest area with a viewpoint, my wife said she would also like this area. So I consulted the Archies app and found this place. On arrival, there were two A4 notes on the door, as I had mixed up the days, so of course I dialed the wrong number. He asked if there was anyone there and said he... would be there in two minutes. Less than a minute later, a municipal truck arrived and the nice man let us in and told us to report to the groundsman later. He later apologized that he hadn't heard the cell phone. He was also a very nice and courteous man. He brought eggs from his own hens, very good and very cheap. The campsite is very nice, laid out like a park in a loop of the Sioule. Large pitches with electricity. You don't need to take the road to get to the town of Pontgibaud, but can get there through the campsite, along the river. The sanitary facilities are separated, 2 sitting (with glasses) and 2 standing toilets, without paper, the showers are pleasant. The cleaning lady could go into a little more detail. For us a very nice, quiet campsite, not far from the highway. The nearby road didn't bother us, there was hardly any traffic at night. There are nice excursions to Puy de Dome, Vulcania and Volcan de Lemptegy. In the municipality itself there is a castle and a huge tower from the former lead and silver mines. We will be back.

Camping Municipal la Palle *** http://campongibaud.free.fr/cms/ Camping Municipal la Palle *** is located on the outskirts of Pontgibaud in the Puy-de-Dôme department in Auvergne, directly on the banks of the Sioule. The site is well suited as a transit site as it is not too far from a highway exit of... the A89. However, you can't hear the highway itself. In general, the site was very quiet. The pitches are level and consist of a meadow area, separated from each other by loose hedges and mature trees. There is a central sanitary building, which left a clean, well-kept impression. The overnight price in the low season (2013) for two people was €14.20. Dogs were free of charge
