Garden gnome-free zone without permanent campers.NegatívumokNo WLAN in the "rear seats".Beautiful small campsite directly on the RhineExtremely friendly and helpful young people run one of the most beautifully situated campsites on the Rhine. You won't find any permanent campers here (well, there do seem to be two permanent parkers in the northern part of the site ...)! The bread roll service and the quality of the bread rolls are... unbeatable. The sanitary facilities are well maintained and very clean. This dog-friendly campsite proves that it is also possible without a barrier (e.g. closed at lunchtime)!
Unfortunately, the single wash cubicles, one shower and one toilet in each of the two sanitary areas were permanently locked during our stay. What a shame, there are supposed to be campers who can't or aren't allowed to shower! It's a prankster who thinks that this is an attempt to optimize cleaning costs! The WLAN did not exist for the pitches further away, but is to be installed soon (?).
Noise-sensitive campers should have earplugs in stock for the night - ships' diesel engines and freight trains can be very loud ...Automatikusan lefordítva.

The first two rows of pitches are nice and direct with a view of the Rhine, row 3 to the right of the site road is fine, the 4th row is not good at all with small pitches... and difficult to access between the vehicles in the 3rd row. It would have been better to have large pitches in the 3rd row instead of such a mess. All pitches have electricity and water but no waste water. Pitch 29 in the 4th row is an imposition right next to a pile of stones with a view of the chemical toilet disposal on the house wall and the "smell" of the waste collection point. At the end of the site is a small "wild camping" area where you can set up with small mobile homes or tents without electricity. The sanitary facilities are modern and clean. There are 4 showers, 4 washbasins and 1 single wash cubicle for men and women. 5 WCs, 1 of which is defective. The kiosk / reception has a bread roll service with delivery directly to the mobile home around 08.30 am. A small ice cream (mini cup 100 ml) costs 3.90 euros, which is quite hefty when you consider the price per liter, so it's better to go to the ice cream parlor in town or wait for the ice cream van that regularly drives to the site. There is also a Netto discount store with a bakery in the checkout area. There is a large public playground about 200 meters away. Wifi available free of charge. Unfortunately, the disposal of mobile homes is very poorly regulated. A small gully in the outdoor area, about 1 meter from the house wall next to a cypress makes direct disposal almost impossible. Sometimes cars from the tennis club also park there, in which case disposal is not possible at all. The operator has provided a plastic drainage pipe there, whoever wants to can kneel down and try to drain their waste water into the gully with this pipe. A no-go for a campsite. Installing a simple drainage channel or large funnel there, as is usually the case, should not be an option.Automatikusan lefordítva.

The site shows that the operators are camping enthusiasts themselves, with a commitment to sustainability and environmental compatibility.
The sanitary facilities and catering, or kiosk, are all great.

Location:
Located directly on the Rhine, in the small village of Braubach. Less than a 10-minute walk to the town center, great hiking routes to various castles, boat docks for... tours in the immediate vicinity.
Sanitary facilities:
Taken over from the "old" owner and given a great overhaul. The showers have been completely replaced with modern facilities. The toilets are a bit outdated, but will be replaced/renovated this winter according to the owners. The sanitary facilities are cleaned daily & are only as dirty as other campers leave them ;).
Kiosk:
Has also only been in existence for a short time. Great, regional coffee and a bread roll service that is hard to beat (each bag is lovingly "spiced up" with small motifs).
The pitch:
Clean pitches with electricity and water. Even WLAN is available free of charge throughout the site. For the adventurous, there are several four-wheel drive pitches in the small forest. In heavy rainfall, without a four-wheel drive and good tires, the vehicle can no longer be saved and will sink into the Rhine as a coral reef. However, if you stand on the pitches, you have a fantastic view of the Rhine, surrounded by nature.
Suitable for whom?
Those looking for absolute peace and quiet are unfortunately in the wrong place on the Rhine. Again and again, large diesel engines with heavy loads fight their way up the Rhine (for me, this is almost soothing and symbolizes the Rhine in a way). Sometimes the train passes by in the background.

After making arrangements, we bought a shower tent. So far, so good.
But we realized that some campers (chosen ones) could use the sanitary facilities with a key. When we asked a few times, we were told that the... sanitary facilities could not yet be used. When asked about the campers with keys, the operator replied that it was up to him who he gave a key to. We should be happy for them that they are lucky enough to have a key. Otherwise they wouldn't have been able to use the pitch. The fact that we paid the same price was of no interest to the operator. Words fail you. Overall, the site made a somewhat overgrown, enchanted impression, which we liked.
The site operators are very friendly and helpful. Butcher, bakery, pizzeria etc within a few minutes walking distance. Cycle path behind the site... to many excursion destinations.
Railroad line, through road, Rhine shipping and adjacent allotments provide variety, you should not be too sensitive.

No bicycles pass by the site either. The showers are older but very well maintained and very clean. Bread rolls can be ordered and delivered to the pitch in a beautifully designed bag. The rolls taste... good. The town is just a few minutes' walk away. This was our fifth time at this campsite. The new operators are very friendly and accommodating. I had booked one of them.
The reception is very friendly, the operators very committed.
Unfortunately, the campsite still has outdated sanitary facilities, which were always clean.
According to the operators, this should change in 2021.
Therefore, I wish the operators all the best for the future, the foundation is there ;-)

Unfortunately, the pitches are so narrow that you can hardly catch your breath. We have rarely stood so close together on a campsite as here. You have to reserve a pitch in the front row directly on the Rhine well in advance. We couldn't see the Rhine. The number... of showers (two for men and two for women) is completely inadequate for such a full campsite. The sanitary area was clean. Unfortunately there are no shopping facilities on the site. From the campsite you have many excursion possibilities, a bicycle path is in the immediate vicinity. We will not be guests here again!Automatikusan lefordítva.

The operator makes sure that all caravans/camper vans are positioned across the Rhine so that almost everyone has a view of the Rhine (hardly any awnings were erected) and can watch the ships. The site itself offers no further infrastructure (no restaurant, no shopping... facilities), but this is not a bad thing as the town is easy to reach. The location on the Rheinsteig was also a decisive factor for us. The sanitary facilities are getting on in years, but were always cleaned and were spotlessly clean. The washing-up area was outside (covered) and even here you had a view of the Rhine. The jetty, train station and bus stops are close by. A trip to Koblenz (there: boat, back: train) was therefore uncomplicated. We will definitely be back to continue the Rheinsteig.Automatikusan lefordítva.
