Sanitary catastrophe. Paper towels constantly empty. Why no electronic hand drying system? Lights in the shower rooms go out while showering. It takes at least 1 euro before hot shower water comes. Heaters in the shower rooms... are switched off in summer. Even on cold days and weeks! Window handles are removed. No possibility to shower in cold weather. Toilet seats partly completely worn out. After using the toilet, there is only cold water to wash your hands and possibly a paper towel. Hygienically questionable.
Lack of waste bins on the entire site. Dog unfriendly. It is better to walk your dog only beyond the barriers.
Laundry is possible, but only 2 small standard washing machines on Thuringia's largest campsite. With power switch to the dryer. If the washing machine is running and someone wants to use the dryer, the electricity from the washing machine is simply cut off. No chemical toilet cleaning machine. Chemical toilet is emptied between reception and playground.
No family bathroom, so mom with toddler can take a warm bath? No chance!
Very expensive food and loud, unbearable rock music at lunchtime with children!
What does the operator think he has there? You can't be proud of it. There is such a thing and it could be better! Too bad Thuringia! So much potential, unfortunately it's not being used. We stood in area A with our caravan there it is not very far to the water, nearby there is a soccer field two volleyball courts as well as two table tennis tables. There are also covered benches there. The water of the lake is clear and invites you to swim.... The gastronomic offer is great. In the beer garden there is delicious food which is freshly prepared. Next to it there is a kiosk which offers delicious pizza from 3 pm, also there are fresh bread rolls in the kiosk from 8-10 am. There is also a kiosk with ice cream.
There is a playground for children and a mini-golf course on the campsite near the reception.
The sanitary facilities up by the reception are up to date. The sanitary building down by the water is also ok. The toilets are cleaned properly twice a day. If a guest then pisses all over everything (because he is drunk) the operator can't do anything about it !!!! The team from the campsite is very good and keeps the place clean They are all friendly and nice. So far everyone has always been nice, friendly and helpful. The sanitary facilities at the tent meadow are in good condition and are also successfully kept clean. Last time we had a problem with the car battery and were... even able to borrow a starter cable.
The children can play in the woods, on the playground and by the lake and have always been happy.
However, there are two negative points for me: the lake is not really suitable for swimming, the entrances are inaccessible or impractical for children and the second point: no real attention is paid to keeping a quiet night. If a group of teenagers arrives with speakers, lights and a disco pavilion, it doesn't help that the family meadow and the youth meadow are spatially separated. The area is only suitable for cycling to a limited extent, as there are only a few cycle paths.
The plots are sufficiently large and flat. However, the access roads are in a catastrophic state and poorly lit at night.
The wash house is very nicely furnished and mostly clean.

Three plastic shower cubicles with only a plastic curtain and two washbasins, only one of which was in use. Not a trace of privacy. The "main road" on the pitch, where the small store and restaurant are located, is not a road, but such a broken path with lots of holes. If you're not careful, you can easily twist your ankle or fall off your bike.Once and never againWe specifically looked for a large pitch near the sanitary facilities and opted for the most expensive pitch (premium pitch) by the lake.
The pitch had no grass, just dirt and sand. We were right next to the sanitary building, which tempted most campers to walk over our pitch. Sometimes even over our... awning carpet. Whether on foot or by bike. It was simply the shortest route to the toilet or shower. We felt our privacy was very disturbed by this.
Speaking of privacy: the showers were the worst we've ever experienced. You stepped into a plastic shower cubicle and only protected yourself with a curtain that you didn't even dare touch.
There was also only one washbasin for about 50-60 people who lived in this area. The toilets were also used by the permanent campers.
We didn't feel adequately protected from coronavirus with such a large number of people there. Especially as most of them went into the sanitary building without mouth and nose protection.
The paths to the pitches were very bad, with lots of holes in the asphalt and a lot of gravel, which was extremely dusty when cars drove past. There were a lot of cars driving across the site, as the midday rest period was also not observed.

I WARN against this place. ZERO STARS. I wrote to reception months before arrival about reserving a large suitable pitch or plot with electricity for our needs. We were traveling with a 6 m tent, 4 m pavilion and small tent, 3 adults and 3 children. Of course, I also indicated this.
In response... I received a message
"That a reservation is not necessary, there are 3 sufficiently large tent meadows and on tent meadow 2 this is for families, there is also electricity."
When we arrived on our scheduled date, a Thursday, we were told at reception that there was only a little space left on tent meadow A. However, this was due to the slope. However, this was unsuitable due to the slope and size. Back at reception, I asked again for a pitch or plot without electricity, which is also possible as the cool box can be operated with gas and we have a foldable solar panel for cell phones etc..
I was told that everything else was booked. In response to my complaint by e-mail, I was told that it was basically not possible to make a reservation for tents.
However, this was not communicated in the email.
At that time we had already been traveling for 18 days with our equipment and wanted to stay 7-10 days because my mother who accompanied us and I had been there several times as a child many years ago.
So we left a beautiful campsite in the Upper Palatinate, traveled over 200 km and were now in danger of having to cancel our 5-week trip if we didn't find an alternative quickly.

Okay, I'll let that pass as fun. The sanitary buildings are very busy during the day with day visitors and other guests. If... you want to get some exercise after a lazy day at the bathing meadow, you can walk 3.8 km to Kranichfeld and back the same way. The REWE supermarket there is open until 10 pm.
The site is very well structured. Well-kept green areas.

No longer appropriate in this day and age. But good internet quality. Opening hours of the supermarket insufficient. 2 out of 3 sanitary facilities close from 22.00 to 08.00. The queues to shower before 8.00 am at the only remaining sanitary building are correspondingly long. Absolutely loveless furnishings with the appearance that most of the furniture had been taken from... the bulky waste. The "couch" was worn out. Very old. Not one piece matched the other. The kitchen appliances were old, not cleaned regularly and the kitchen inventory was kept to a minimum. The cleaning equipment a tragedy! The shower in the bathroom unusable, black mold at its finest! You can't get that vacation feeling! We can only rate this type of bungalow and, in comparison with other accommodation we have stayed in at this price level, come to the conclusion that straw is being spun into gold here! We received a very friendly welcome and were shown around the site after paying in advance. We were directly on the A1 by the lake. The ground was very hard and we had difficulty fixing the pegs of the awning. The lake is clean, but there are lots of plants... in it. Excellent for swimming. There is a bread roll service on the site and you have to walk a few meters. The site itself is characterized by permanent campers. The wash houses 1 and 2 are quite modern but by the lake it is like a hut. It is functional but you have to like that, i.e. the sink is in front of the entrance to the toilet when you wash your things, it can happen that the cylinders are occupied and you hear these noises whether you like it or not. It is also a little too small for the rush. The cleaning times of the toilets are explicitly observed at all sanitary facilities and you will be expelled if you ignore this. We also noticed that the site is very poorly lit at night. On the whole, we found the site very good. The lake is fine. You can reach a lot of excursion destinations from there. The sanitary facilities are very clean. The leisure facilities in the... area are also very good. However, when you check in, you are asked to pay the full price for your stay, with the proviso that if you leave earlier, the money you have paid in excess will be refunded. I've been camping for 25 years and I've never had this before. Even in Italy, Croatia or Spain there is no such thing. Campers are also brutally ripped off here when it comes to the Internet. As the mobile internet only allows slow data, which the operator knows, you have to pay a whopping €3.50 per day and device for WiFi. Hello is that still possible? Sorry, but other campsites are much better here. Another major point of criticism is that some dog owners apparently don't know where the dog beach is. There was dog waste at many of the entrances to the lake. And small children were playing here. The operator simply needs to carry out a lot more checks here.
