The first year we had snow at the beginning, which thawed after 2 days and flooded the pitches. At that time we attributed it to the frozen ground and put up with it.
This year it had rained for several days and... the pitches were in an even more catastrophic state than before. Some of the water was ankle-high.
Even the pallets and grass slabs provided by the operator were of little help. The place has more of a parking lot flair, WLAN underground, but free, quite high price, nice children's playground. Bathroom/WC OK, more mobilhomes... are to be built at the entrance, then it will be really full. Only a few places for caravans. For a few days and to go to scharbeutz, haffkrug and Timmen village good. You shouldn't have the expectations of a "real" campsite. Ferienpark Scharbeutz was the worst of them all for us!
Like many others, we were on a narrow pitch with sandy ground. When it rains, it's no fun getting into the camper van through... the mud.
The dog beach is a long way away. You have to go all the way through Scharbeutz and you're almost at Timmendorfer Strand.

I always took the car for this, as the paths are only covered with coarse... gravel and the chemical toilet cannot be pulled there. The paths get dusty very quickly when it is dry.
The pitches for motorhomes seemed a bit small to me.
Noise nuisance from the main road next door and the BAB about 1 km away depending on the wind direction possible.
The location is good, close to the Baltic Sea and everything can be reached by bike.
The sanitary cabins or family bathrooms are ineffective for single persons. There is a toilet, shower and washbasin in them, so it quickly becomes congested in the morning. There could be a few more. The pitch is laid out like a tube, the pitches for caravans are in the rear area, the only possibility of emptying gray water and chemical toilet, however, at the entrance (good 5 - 7 minutes long way, a distance, in wind and weather!) Access road to the pitch was a pothole... road, which one tried to eliminate after a week in some places (not successful), but then 2 of the 3 ladies toilets were closed, as well as 4 or 5 of the perhaps 7 shower facilities were also closed. Sanitary facilities are located in containers.
It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the beach. At a price of over € 30.00 for approx. 4 KW/h electricity per day, 2 people, car and caravan at the time and in the condition the campsite was in, absolutely far too expensive.
With the spa card (€ 0.50 per person during this time) you can use the buses to Travemünde or Neustadt i. Holstein for € 1.00 per person.Automatikusan lefordítva.

I wouldn't want to stay there for one or two weeks, it doesn't offer me enough for that. After a totally uncomplicated telephone booking, I was able to arrive late in the evening at 22:00, but almost didn't find the pitch. A very... long, narrow and unlit driveway. As a solo driver, I only dared to enter after exploring on foot, there would have been no way back in the dark... The sanitary facilities, like all the buildings, are built from containers, but are modern and clean. No toilet containers despite the containers! The pitch itself is peppered with huge potholes, then puddles in the fall, a load of gravel could help here. Otherwise, very friendly staff, nicely decorated and very close to the beach and the town of Scharbeutz. A clear recommendation as a weekend pitch!Automatikusan lefordítva.

Mass handling in large parking lot.Motorhome pitch with better sanitary facilitiesAugust 2019 (update): I think calling the "Ostseestrand Ferienpark Scharbeutz" a campsite is completely exaggerated. It is at best a motorhome site with slightly better sanitary facilities. The entire site is a gravelled area. The lawn shown on the operator's pictures is no longer there (except in a... few hidden corners). The plots are separated from each other by tree trunks and are not much larger than a spacious parking lot. The vehicles are packed together like sardines in a can. Anyone who has the idea of putting up an awning is stuck right next to their neighbor. My opinion of the sanitary facilities is twofold. On the one hand, I like the large, spacious family bathrooms, which can be used quickly by the whole family at the same time in the morning. On the other hand, the disadvantage is that these bathrooms are located in containers and - despite the numerous signs posted - most people close the doors again after using them. This leads to a steam sauna-like climate in the bathrooms. The cleanliness of the toilets is sometimes a bit of a problem, but this is often due to the fact that many careless parents let their often still very young children go to the toilet on their own. You can do this at home if you can quickly clean up after them. On a campsite, the next user is then "happy". At first glance, the location seems quite good because it's easy to get to the beach, but the desolate gravel and dusty path is not really nice. Just imagine what happens when it rains. In addition, you can still see quite a lot of the nearby highway (even at night). To summarize, I would only stop here in an emergency and only when passing through (max. 1 night). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- August 2017: We were passing through on this site and are glad that it was really only for transit. OK, we can't complain for now. As the camper van pitch we had booked was flooded due to heavy rain, we were rebooked to a larger pitch (at no extra charge). The sanitary facilities are clean and spacious. Thanks to the chip card system used, it is possible to use the "bathroom" together as a whole family. However, the pitches (in my opinion) had nothing to do with a campsite. They were all slightly sloping parking bays that only varied in length. If we had wanted to pull out the awning or even put up an awning, we would have been stuck to the left and right of our neighbors. Far too cramped for me personally. The staff were friendly, but I still had the feeling of a mass check-in. OK for passing through, but not otherwise.Automatikusan lefordítva.

The pitch itself is very large and you have all the connections you need right on the pitch. The ground on the pitch is very stony. The location to the beach is ok, but you have to cross a road (there are better locations). Reception staff are very friendly.... Toilets are dirty in my opinion and the door is constantly beeping because you can't see if someone is using it (access only with a card). I didn't see the cleaning staff for 4 days. The showers cannot be regulated and are cold. Also definitely far too few showers, you have to wait up to 30 minutes every time at peak times. The children's playground is great and there is something for all ages, far too few sinks, long waits there too. One place to dispose of waste water. We had the last pitch at the other end. When we asked at reception several times whether we could only stay for the day on Whit Monday for cash, as my parents were in a mobile home on the site (again, these are highly recommended), we were told that it was not possible there or anywhere else on the site. Since my parents were there for 2 more days, I got the feedback in the evening with a photo that our pitch and the one next to it were free all day and even in the evening at 7 pm - a pity and bad service!!!! Unfortunately, the campsite is very close to the highway and main road, which you can always hear. This is not clear from the pictures. We had rented a vacation home. So far bright, friendly and clean. Suitable for a short vacation. Not suitable for longer stays... as it is very noisy. Especially as the houses are at the end of the campsite with a direct view of the Shell petrol station and main road. The cars drove until 3.00 am at night. Very noisy place - with vacation... was nothing The pictured lawn is only in the peripheral zones. The worst thing was that when I had to clean the windows for departure, staff came running immediately and banned me from the site, as this is prohibited on the site. And the fact that the vacation park also has a really nice playground... surprised us and made us very happy! A huge praise for the HÜPFKISSEN - very common in Sweden and Denmark, you can look for it on German campsites and even more so on pitches for a very long time!!! And the people who complain about children's noise can go trekking in Nepal and go straight to a Buddhist monastery. Really...Automatikusan lefordítva.

We arrived with our motorhome at the end of April on Saturday. We were told that there were only two caravan pitches left. We stayed here for two nights and were horrified. The site is an impersonal pitch, far too expensive,... we paid 31 euros per night, the sanitary facilities are clean, but far too few when the site is full. The lighting is far too dark in the evening. You can hear the traffic from the country road and highway, so not exactly quiet either.Automatikusan lefordítva.
