Once again this year, ALL arrivals were allowed onto the site, right up to the limit! Good for the cash register, bad for the vacationers! It was unbearably crowded and loud, people partied until 2am😡! The site operator doesn't care!
3 showers for the men, 4 showers for... the ladies for the whole campsite!!! 😱 The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities is accordingly and the cleaning staff are obviously overwhelmed even with all their efforts! We no longer used the sanitary facilities because of their predominantly horrible condition, only our camper! It is also inexplicable to us how other camping guests can describe this condition as completely okay! Crass! ☹️ The power connections are, to put it mildly, "rustic" - is this in line with the regulations....?!! If you're looking for this atmosphere, you've come to the right place! 👀, unfortunately we will look around for other places! The free choice of pitch is great with a dog. We stood at the very back, right by the forest, and had enough space. The only thing is that the power connections are a bit far away, but cables can be borrowed free of charge from reception. Unfortunately there is no restaurant at the campsite.

The place is so overcrowded this year that it's no fun anymore! We did a rough count and came up with about 1000 people! The sanitary building is hopelessly too small and so dirty that we did NOT use it. We used our camper toilet and the outside shower... on our camper! The sanitary building was only cleaned once a day, we could see queuing at the few toilets and especially at the even fewer showers as well as washing dishes every day! And all those arriving were allowed onto the site, so that campers were already parked at the entrance to the gravel parking lot. We were advised to "find a creative pitch" with free choice of pitch (no parcelling out) when registering.....!?? And this has sometimes led to absurd line-ups!
We hope that this is only the "corona effect", because it would be a great pity for the otherwise beautiful place! I find the lack of parcelling out a disadvantage, as many people take advantage of this and thus spread out as they would otherwise on three plots.
The sanitary facilities are really horrible - I also think it's a joke that if you go to a campsite... and 3 adults and a child cost 36 euros per night, not even showers are included. Instead, you have to pay separately, as well as for hot rinsing water!
We are one experience richer, but I wouldn't go there again.

We felt very comfortable from the first to the last moment. In our opinion, the concept of the campsite is ideal. No reservations, no parceled-out pitches. Just choose a nice pitch... and you're done. There aren't really any bad pitches, whether facing the lake or with a view of the meadows and mountains. Surrounded by beautiful scenery with a great swimming lake. Despite the high season, the many guests were well distributed across the large site. Nowhere was it too crowded or too loud. It was pure relaxation. It couldn't have been better. The leisure options in the region also seem endless. Simply fantastic. We deducted one star from the campsite due to the lack of a mini-market and the sanitary building. It's quite a long way from some of the pitches and the unrenovated areas are getting on in years. On the contrary, it didn't bother us at all. The campsite is definitely one of our personal TOP 10 campsites.Automatikusan lefordítva.

Nice for a swim.NegatívumokSanitary facilities somewhat outdated, you have to bring your own toilet paper.For us, an insider tip with a surprise effectWe received a very friendly welcome on the phone. When you arrive, you walk around the site and choose your pitch, no pitches, free standing where there is space and then register. There is a reception with information about the region and ice cream. The site is slightly hilly with individual terraces... but also flat meadows, by the water, on the meadow on the terrace - anything is possible. Partly with trees. The place reminded us a lot of Sweden. The host family is very nice and helpful. The lake and the bathing area are very nice, with a diving board and toddler bathing area. The sanitary facilities are a bit outdated but very clean. It took some getting used to that there was no toilet paper, you have to bring your own. In the afternoon, the bakery car drives around the campsite with a huge selection of pastries, bread, cakes and tarts. In the morning there is also a large selection of bread rolls etc. from the bakery. Once a week the chicken and knuckle of pork truck comes. There was also an Italian who sold cheese, wine etc. With a dog you are quickly and directly in nature, from the place you can start running, hiking, cycling. Nice staff, friendly and considerate fellow campers. Although it was full, it was pleasantly quiet for relaxing, swimming, hiking, boating etc. Really great. There is a bread roll service and occasional specials. Unfortunately... there is no small store and the town is about 30 minutes' walk away. The dog is only allowed in the water on a small gravel strip where the boats are launched. The advertised "dog-pleasing meadow" is further back in the blazing sun. So just cool off and return to the pitch. That's ok for a few days. The sanitary facilities urgently need to be improved. Only 4 showers per gender and too few dishwashing sinks (without light). So you have to plan for a wait either way. A cleaning lady was on the way, but unfortunately it doesn't stay clean for long with the mass operation. There is no toilet paper, soap or hand drying facilities in the toilets. This is quite unhygienic. All in all, a nice place in a fantastic location, with certain shortcomings, where you could definitely go again.Automatikusan lefordítva.
- Roger B.June 2018PozitívumokLocation, friendliness, pitchesNegatívumokNoneMr.This very quiet and, by Austrian standards, reasonably priced campsite (€26 pre-season, 2 people, pitch incl. electricity) is beautifully situated at the western end of Lake Weissensee.
The pitches are spacious, but not parceled out, so the space can get tight at peak times.
The sanitary facilities are... relatively small but clean. There is no Wi-Fi or entertainment for children, but you are surrounded by plenty of nature, which you can explore on foot or by bike.
The kiosk is only open for a few hours in the high season, so you have to buy food in the nearby Technedorf (approx. 3km).
Supply and disposal facilities for motorhomes and toilet cassettes are available. The pitches are on grass or gravel.
A place of longing for me!

1. it certainly makes a difference whether you visit a site in low or high season.
The sanitary facilities are sufficient for the low season, but in the high season it gets tight.
If there is talk of "unclean" bathrooms in one review or another, this is primarily due to the people who use the facilities and leave them dirty. There can't be a cleaning lady behind every "little pig".
2. this place is particularly suitable for people who like it a little closer to nature and quieter.
However, if you like peace and quiet and want to be surrounded by greenery, you should also understand that there are limits to development in a nature reserve.
Significantly more staff (e.g. for hourly cleaning, kiosk, children's entertainment etc.) would increase the price considerably.
For those for whom the sanitary facilities are very important, Camping Knaller, also on the Weißensee, is a suitable alternative. The site is small, the pitches are cramped and the site is generally quiet, but the sanitary facilities are huge and well maintained.
Are there people who only go on vacation because of the sanitary facilities? This is the right place for them.Automatikusan lefordítva.

Supermarket no longer within walking distance.Ideal place to relaxI come here every year for a long weekend or at the beginning/end of my motorcycle tour to Croatia. No matter whether you come in early May or mid-August, you will always find a nice and spacious pitch (except for motorhomes that need electricity in August). The campsite is located on the western shore... of Lake Weissensee at 930 m above sea level, shortly before (from Greifenburg) or after (from Hermagor) crossing the Kreuzbergsattel/Kärntener Kreuzberg (gradient: 15%). According to the ÖAMTC, it is therefore not advisable for caravan drivers to travel here! Although the Weißensee is Austria's deepest mountain lake (almost 100 m), this only applies to the eastern shore. On the western shore, the water depth is approx. 3 m - 7 m, i.e. it gets relatively warm in summer. There is no entertainment, but in spring the birds are already roaring 1 hour before sunrise and at night the tawny owl and foxes. But no problem with earplugs! In the low season, reception is only open in the mornings from 08:30 - 10:00 and in the afternoons from 16:00 - 17:00. If you arrive in between or later, simply look for a free pitch and register the next day. The kiosk at the campsite is only open in the high season. Instead, the local baker comes by every morning at 08.00 with his delivery van. This ensures a supply of fresh rolls/bread/pastries in the morning! In the main season, a snack wagon comes by twice a week, where you can buy grilled chicken or knuckle of pork. Once a week there is a trout fryer, but you have to queue for a relatively long time (it's worth it!). There is a pizzeria right next to the campsite and you can also eat well in Techendorf (approx. 3 km away). There is also a well-stocked supermarket here. Alternatively, you can go shopping in Greifenburg (approx. 10 km) or Hermagor (approx. 20 km). The sanitary facilities are cleaned every day. Hot water + showers do not cost extra. Unfortunately, the toilets do not have toilet paper, so you have to bring your own.Automatikusan lefordítva.
