The behavior of the operators
After the death of a campsite tenant
After the death of an annual camper, the relative and heir wanted to take over the annual pitch. They drove to the campsite to discuss this with the operators. There they were received in an unthinkable and inhumane way. They were not even offered condolences but were immediately told "we don't want... you here!!!". Although the heir, the son of the deceased, had been visiting the campsite for three years. They asked the operator for the contract. The answer was that there was none. The son then went to the caravan. The operator then came to the pitch and asked the son to leave the pitch as he was trespassing and had no right to be here!!!!
This kind of behavior is not correct!

A paradise for children (even though we no longer have small children ourselves), with entertainment (children's disco, water challange, magician). Restaurant nicely shaded, pizzas are not homemade, but of good quality. Prices are okay.

Very nice, everyone very nice, gladly again:-)
As described above, we felt very comfortable. Children welcome! Dogs no problem.
The wash houses are getting on in years, but clean and functional. Hot water always available, toilet paper and soap too. Well maintained grounds. Owners very nice and helpful, always on site and responsive to questions and requests.
We would love to come back, thank you very much for everything.

You could find fault with the sanitary facilities, but anyone who has ever showered at a rest stop on the highway will appreciate them. There is no store directly at the campsite for food.

We came from Graz with a tent and will be back next year. It will be our third time there. Everything was great for us as a small family with one child. Our daughter is 4, and if you're traveling without friends or other children then you'll make friends there at the latest. For us, it was the most relaxed... vacation ever.
In bad weather, you can go on short hikes in the area or drive to Klagenfurt for sightseeing. When the weather is nice, you can go swimming directly at the campsite or drive to Lake Klopein etc.. There are many ways to spend your time in the area, you just have to want to.
All in all, a big thank you to the operators for this relaxing week. See you next year.❤️

We had made a reservation and asked for a dog free pitch.The opposite was the case.A permanent camper across the road had a small dog that reacted to any movement from us or on the path with loud barking.As we had paid in advance,we were very surprised and also angry when we left early that we had to pay for the reserved time.We have been camping for a very long time, but nothing like this has ever happened to us. the sanitary buildings are also outdated and very cold. the restaurant didn't have much choice, mainly pizza. the many unused permanent pitches had a negative effect. There are much nicer places in the immediate vicinity. conclusion, never reserve again, was not common in the past anyway

Already described in detail.with the permanent campers no clear line.in front of a plot a sign with dog and ...here I live.and next to it ...
No dogs...no dogs allowed.

Without any prior planning, we drove towards Carinthia with our dog and our small caravan (Puscherl). On the way, we searched the internet for a suitable campsite where caravans and dogs were welcome. Even the first selection and the telephone enquiry seemed suitable for us. It was not a bad decision. A beautiful, well-kept campsite by a bathing lake and with a dog area. Wooded all around and the only noise comes from the singing birds. You can walk your dog along the well-maintained paths or along the edge of the forest. Above the treetops you have a beautiful view of the mountain panorama. You are in the middle of campers or permanent campers and yet you don't feel cramped at all. There is plenty of space for our caravan and car and we enjoy the the quiet, undisturbed stay. Further plus points: Friendly staff and friendly tenants. Restaurant and store on site. Cleanliness is perfect. Free access to the adjacent Basesee lake with sandy beach. Further shopping facilities available in the nearby village. To summarize: Everything is SUPER, just drive here and see for yourself.

Unfortunately, the shortage of labor is also noticeable here and only a reduced menu can be offered in the restaurant. Apart from bread rolls, there is no standard food to buy.
Affordable vacation in nature
The pitches are very generously sized and are also ideal for very large motorhomes. Most of the pitches have their own fresh water connection. Electricity is available almost everywhere. The lawns are constantly maintained.
The shore and the sandy beach of the natural bathing lake have been extensively... redesigned. You can see that the water surface is constantly being maintained.
The sanitary facilities have been in use for a long time. They work and were very clean at all times of the day.
The small camping store sells a wide range of items for tents, caravans and motorhomes. The daily supply of fresh bread rolls and other baked goods works smoothly when ordered. Unfortunately, no other food or drinks are available
Whether it's the groundsman, the entire staff or the boss himself, everyone is very helpful and always friendly. The current operator is constantly investing to improve the facilities and comfort for his guests. The children, his customers of the future, are particularly close to his heart. They have a wide range of play and sports facilities at their disposal.
The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. Despite the general price increases, families can also afford an affordable vacation here.

There are many permanent campers on the site, which speaks for both the Sonnencamp and its operators.

Very nice nature camping
We were camping in the high season and were very happy to have ended up at this campsite. It was wonderfully quiet, the pitches are very large and we were right by the lake. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful - they asked us about our child straight away and offered us a great pitch with... shade. Our highlights were the pedal boats, which are available free of charge, and the sun loungers and parasols that you can use right by the lake. There is also a large playground and even a bouncy castle. Many activities are possible from the campsite: cycling, hiking, culture, surrounding lakes.

We also found the Aktiv Card Südkärnten very helpful, where you can quickly check online what is on offer during the days you are on vacation there. We took advantage of some of it and were amazed at how well everything is described. Really a relief!

Sanitary building quite old and therefore dingy despite good maintenance
Ideal for those seeking peace and quiet
We have been to this small campsite many times in the low season and always feel very comfortable there. The peace and quiet and the surroundings are incomparable, the pitches are hardly parceled out, so there is plenty of space to spread out. The sanitary buildings are old and are cleaned very well... and thoroughly, but in my opinion this is no longer enough due to their age. There is a restaurant on the site where you can eat simply but well and cheaply, bread rolls are available to order in the morning from reception. There is a bathing lake right next to the campsite, which is connected to Lake Gösselsdorf by a small river. You can also cycle to the lake resort via a road or drive to it by car. There are plenty of opportunities for cycling and hiking in the area. In Gösselsdorf itself there is an inn and a great wine tavern, and there are plenty of shops in Eberndorf, approx. 2 km away. Many bathing lakes nearby. There are many permanent campers on the site, all of whom we found to be extremely friendly, which is not necessarily a given with permanent campers compared to tourist campers. We will certainly go back again and again because we simply love the area and the peace and quiet on the site.
