- Hubert G.April 2024TeigiamiCleanliness, quietness, WLAN, friendliness, locationNeigiamiTypically high prices in Londonthe best place in the London areaThe 4 of us paid about 100€ per night, but for us the best place in the London area! A good 5min walk to Abbey Wood station, terminus of the Elizabeth Line, from there 30min to the center. Large Sainsbury supermarket next door and "Abbey Arms" pub in front. We had a good meal with live music (pizza,... pasta, burgers). WiFi free of charge throughout the site for 1 hour, then you have to log in again - or book premium WiFi for a fee. Very clean sanitary facilities. Electricity at every pitch and many service points with water and waste garbage cans. Very quiet. Friendly staff. The birds sing in the morning and the gray squirrels come almost as far as the motorhome.
Well booked - advance reservation with a deposit is necessary even in the low season!Automatiškai išversta. - Ronald E.May 2019TeigiamiVery well connectedNeigiaminoneVery nice place10 minutes to the train station 25 minutes to the center; very friendly; access to the square through a narrow alley; ticket price 9 pounds round trip;Automatiškai išversta.
- Uwe M.October 2018Teigiami- Close to the train station to London - Nice staff with a British sense of humor - Clean and good sanitary facilitiesNeigiami- Approach for larger trailers through the residential area not entirely unproblematicIdeal for London SighseeingWe stayed there for two nights in October to visit London. The site is in the middle of a residential area under old chestnut trees. Accessing the site is therefore a bit of a challenge, as the roads are not too wide and sometimes blocked with parking. We preferred to follow the signs with our caravan... (car and caravan 13.5m in total) and not the sat nav. The reception was very friendly and although we hadn't booked, we still had a choice of 6 pitches. The pitches are gravelled and two pitches each share an electricity and water column. There is a small strip of grass in between. There are also a few meadow pitches, but these were no longer being rented out at the time, probably for fear of them becoming boggy when it rains. Due to the many large old trees, satellite reception is only possible on a few pitches. Despite it being October and during the week, the site was almost fully booked. It is therefore advisable to book in advance. Despite the full occupancy, it was very quiet. At reception we were also told how to get to the train station (10 min walk) and which tickets would be best. The sanitary facilities are clean and sufficiently modern. Really good by English standards. (See pictures) For dog owners there is also a small "dog walk", a small dog path at the edge of the site, unfortunately very short. Squirrels are very active here and are not very shy, so dogs that like to hunt are best held tight :-) There are several shopping facilities nearby, the large Sainsbury's supermarket with everything you need (including non-food) can be reached on foot in 15 minutes, or by car (large parking lot under the center with 3m clearance height! So also for small campers). We paid £52.20 (with Campingcard) for 2 nights, 2 adults, caravan with car and two dogs. We didn't see much in the way of leisure activities, but we weren't looking for them either. The site is really ideal for trips to London and absolutely recommendable!Automatiškai išversta.
- Torsten Peter B.July 2018TeigiamiProximity to the city centerBeautiful city campsiteFriendly welcome, own choice of pitch, in the high season you should reserve, quiet place, 10 minutes walk to the regional train, 25 min by train to London BridgeAutomatiškai išversta.
- Olaf O.June 2018TeigiamiClose to the train station, the city center can be reached in 30 minutesNeigiaminoneSuper CP on the outskirts of the cityA very nice CP on the outskirts of London. Super pitches with electricity and aerial connection. Clean and well-kept sanitary facilities. Very friendly staff. This is what you want from a campsite.Automatiškai išversta.
- Tanja K.July 2017TeigiamiProximity to LondonNeigiaminoneVery nice locationWe (2 adults, 4 children, one dog) stayed at the site for 3 nights in August. The perfect place to explore London. You can get to the center very easily by public transport (bus, boat, train) and it doesn't take long to get there. Nevertheless, the site is quite quiet and the pitches are a decent size. Sanitary facilities are simple, solid and clean. The groundsman/reception is very friendly. The site has solid caravan and camping club quality.Automatiškai išversta.
- Holger R.August 2016TeigiamiIdeal location for a visit to London and yet very quiet.NeigiamiNoneTop location for visiting London, very quiet despite being close to the cityThe site is located in a suburb of London. Ideally located for a visit to London. We would never have thought that a site close to the city could be so quiet and green - just great! The nearest train station is "Abbey Wood Railway Station". From there it is only about 20 minutes by DLR to the city center.... This is a British Caravan club site (www.caravanclub.co.uk). It is best to join the club before your trip. In the high season, you only have a chance of getting a pitch at many of the club's sites if you are a member. If you want to visit a restaurant near the campsite in the evening, we recommend the Taj Mahal on Wilton Road, a 5-minute walk from the campsite. Very nice owner, excellent Indian food.Automatiškai išversta.
- Gerd M.July 2016TeigiamiLondon easily accessible, very friendly reception, very well organizedNeigiamiNoneBeautiful placeWe stayed at this site for 4 nights and felt very comfortable. The site is park-like and very clean and well-kept. The sanitary facilities are of a normal standard and are thoroughly cleaned once a day. Due to the high daily turnover of guests, they identify less with the site and sometimes behave accordingly.... So there were sometimes traces of the previous user in the sanitary area. Nevertheless, the general cleanliness was okay. After a trip to London, you can find the peace and quiet you need here. From the site, you can be in the center of London in about 1 hour. It should be noted that you cannot leave the site before 8 am (fenced and locked for vehicles) or you have to change to the unlocked night site in the evening. It is therefore better to book a ferry (if you want to return to the mainland) at lunchtime. We had booked a parking space in advance, which makes sense due to the occupancy rate. There were very few places left. For us it was a very nice vacation and if we want to go to London again we will come here again.Automatiškai išversta.
- Karsten N.June 2016TeigiamiWell maintained, quiet, conveniently locatedGreat place for a visit to London, but still an oasis of peaceI don't want to repeat everything from the previous speakers here, because almost everything has already been said.staff very nice.very idyllic location in the countryside, fenced in for protection.but you don't notice anything.5 minutes to the stores in town and the train station.TIP: Buy a Day Travelcard.30... minutes by train from Abbey Wood to Charing Cross.costs 12 pounds for an adult and you can travel all day by train, tube and red double-decker as you like.very important:at the larger stations such as Waterloo(London Eye)and Charing Cross(Big Ben,House of Parliament,Buckingham Palace)there are booklets at the information desks with approx.150 This means you save half the ticket price and get the Travelcart back immediately, so don't order tickets in advance in Germany. Example London Eye:24.95 pounds.Towerbridge:9 pounds etc. You have to register your vehicle with TFL in Germany in advance, it's free but if you drive without registering you get a ticket afterwards which is around 150 pounds per day.all streets are video recorded - they catch everyone.by the way, even at Lidl in the parking lot.I wondered why I had to give my license plate number at the checkout.you are recorded by a camera and if you don't shop there you get a 90 pound ticket.we have often seen signs like this.Automatiškai išversta.
- Guntram H.May 2015TeigiamiVery clean and tidy / short distance to Londonvery well managed and in 30 minutes in the center of LondonA very well run and clean campsite. The staff are "very British", friendly and helpful. Very spacious and large pitches - partly flat gravel, partly slightly sloping with English lawn. Ground mats are not allowed. Sanitary always clean and well maintained. The train station is 5 minutes away. There are... also small stores nearby for shopping. There are no restaurants (except for a Dönner stand). Wild animals such as foxes and squirrels live on the site. However, they are obviously not a major problem. We didn't notice that we had any problems with pets. - There are instructions in the sanitary building on how to behave! From our point of view, the price-performance ratio was definitely right. Reservations are essential during the season!Automatiškai išversta.
- Frank N.August 2014Everything OK!Nice welcome on arrival, then you can choose your own pitch. Be sure to make a reservation! CP was fully booked in the HS! Very good starting point for excursions to London and the surrounding area!Automatiškai išversta.
- Antonio F.July 2014TeigiamiBeautiful, well-maintained and convenient for visiting London.NeigiamiNone.Excellent campground. Well organized and convenient for visiting London. The campground is in a nice location. Very green and quiet location is great for visits to London which is reachable by train (5 minutes walk) in 30 minutes and until late hours. Everything in order.Automatiškai išversta.
- Thomas N.August 2013TeigiamiS-Bahn stop only 5 minutes away Clean sanitary facilitiesNeigiamiIn my opinion, there are none.Very nice, quiet campsite. Ideal for trips into the center of London. The South-East stop is about a 5-minute walk away. From there it's only 25 minutes to Big Ben. ATTENTION: Abbey Wood is located in the "Low Emission Area", so register your vehicle with Traffic of London, otherwise it will be expensive.... It's easy to do online. I liked it there, nice big pitches, clean sanitary facilities, camping in a green park, nice staff, so I'll be back. :-)Automatiškai išversta.
- Luigi R.August 2013the campground is quiet, the train station to central London is 5 minutes away (downtown takes 30 minutes by train... but it's London), there are supermarkets in the area. Bathrooms are cleaned 2 times a day there is an outdoor play area for children. Pity there is nothing inside, there is no commissary,... no meeting room or bar , nothing we can consider it a nice rest area, we will also be in london, but the campground is a bit expensive for not offering any services.Automatiškai išversta.
- Sergio M.August 2013To begin with no Spanish, it is very far from London, although well connected by train. In the campsite there is nothing, but nothing nothing nothing nothing, not even for a coffee. The plots of the tents are scarce and mostly inclined. Very clean and very tidy, just that. One of the most expensive campsites I have paid and that has fewer services.Automatiškai išversta.
- Bernd L.August 2013Stayed at this campsite in August 2013. Very clean, staff very friendly. The electric fence all around did not bother us. Also the security camera was not disturbing. Good place for trips to London. In Abbey Wood itself no possibility for a restaurant visit.Automatiškai išversta.
- Sebastian F.May 2013We stayed at the Abbey Wood campsite for three nights. As others have already written, the site is an ideal starting point for London. The site is beautifully laid out (on a terrace with mature trees). There are plenty of sanitary facilities and no pitch is far away. The pitches are either on grass or... gravel. As with all Caravan Club pitches, you have to align your caravan/motorhome precisely to ensure sufficient distance from your neighbors. The store does not offer any food, but a Coop store is within easy reach not far from the site. WLAN on the site for a fee.Automatiškai išversta.
- giuseppe p.August 2011Great campground in good location to reach the city nearby transportation such as supermarkets recommendedAutomatiškai išversta.
- Wolf-Dieter K.August 2011We stayed at Abbey-Wood for 9 days at the beginning of our vacation in England. Brilliant: 10 minutes' walk to the S-Bahn station, half an hour's drive into the center of London, very good train connections. The sanitary facilities are thoroughly and lovingly maintained. The peace and quiet is somewhat... impaired by the frequent arrival and departure of vehicles, but it is quiet at night and that was important to us. The access road to the campsite is well signposted and easy to find with a satnav. Good: Late arrival parking; the site itself is closed from 10 p.m., but can be opened at any time for campers with a code. Reception is on average friendly.Automatiškai išversta.
- Jürgen W.August 2011I can only agree with the previous comments. Very well-kept site and sanitary facilities. A reservation is advisable in the high season (with us it was fully booked from Fri.- Sun.). The site is in a quiet location. Day trips are easy with the Travel day ticket. 5-10 minutes to the train station and... from there about 30 minutes into the city. A club membership makes sense and also guarantees the pitch reservation. There are no shopping facilities on site, but there is a food market 10 minutes' walk away.Automatiškai išversta.
