Lost Place as a campsite
Has a certain charm as a lost place with a large hotel ruin on the lawn. You can stand wherever you want, which has advantages if the site is not too full. Sanitary facilities are borderline, but at least clean. Main road from Jurmala always audible. No catering facilities at all. Short walk to the beach. Good train connection to Riga from here.

Poor price-performance ratio
Most expensive & at the same time worst campsite of our trip. Old dilapidated building on the site, unfriendly staff at reception, sanitary facilities are an imposition: dirty & cramped in a van. Parts of the campsite seem to have a layer of concrete five centimeters below the soil. It took us ages to... find a place for the tents on the uneven terrain where we could get the pegs into the ground. The only good thing about the site is its proximity to the beautiful beach.

Ideal place to explore the Latvian capital
For our visit to Riga this year, we were looking for a campsite that was easily accessible by public transport and not covered in concrete. Our choice therefore fell on the seaside resort of Jurmala. The campsite of the same name is located 1.3 km from Dubulti train station, from where you can get to... Riga city center in about half an hour for little money. The square itself is located on the site of a disused Soviet-era hotel, with small trees already growing from the balconies. Although the main street of Jurmala runs right next to the square, it is very quiet there. The sandy beach is only about 500 m away through a strip of forest and over the dune. The pitches are not parceled out. The entire site is a meadow with a few trees, so you can choose between a sunny or more shady pitch. The sanitary facilities are located in an old container and were always clean during our stay. When the site is full, however, it can get a bit cramped. There are no restaurants on the site. However, we recommend visiting one of the many restaurants in the pedestrian zone of Majori (easy to reach by bus or cab). WIFI reception is only possible within a radius of around 50 m from reception. Conclusion: Simple campsite in a quiet location, ideal for visiting Riga or strolling through Jurmala.

Cause in Jurmala dogs are not welcome, you may have a major problems when you walking around with your dog. That's why there is no difference for me how dog friendly is the camping area - it is closed zone. So, if you travel with dog, do not take stop in Jurmala. You lose money and nerves.

Very close to the great beach
Great location near the beach. Sanitary facilities are clean. Plenty of space and shade. Otherwise you shouldn't expect too much. Nice little playground for children.
