Great place by a rocky stream
The campsite "U Rosumarinu" is located in a valley, directly on the road between the Bavella Pass and the town of Solenzara by the sea. The road is very busy during the day, so a site closer to the stream is recommended for those in need of peace and quiet. This beautiful stream, actually more of a small... river, with its large, round rocks and numerous bathing pools (almost small lakes!) is the eye-catcher and the "main feature" of this very natural site. The pitches are partly parceled out, mostly shady and there is also space for somewhat larger vehicles. Some with direct, practically private access to the stream - TOP!
ATTENTION: None of the pitches have an electricity connection.
The sanitary facilities are quite new and look modern, but at second glance, apart from the cleanliness (no toilet seats/paper), there is only a minimum of privacy. The washbasins are only available at a kind of "mini-roundabout", dishes are washed right next to them and very "specific" noises come from the toilet just 2 meters away. It is better to visit the somewhat smaller sanitary block at the very beginning of the campsite.
The reception is very friendly, speaks good English and also runs the restaurant/pizzeria right next door with a lovely terrace. You can also order bread rolls there for the next day.
It's a really lovely place to chill out and relax, very close to nature.
The campsite is visited almost exclusively by German tourists, including many young families. In another review of the campsite, I read: "A very nice campsite, but you have to be prepared to put up with lots of Munich hipsters wearing a surf poncho and carrying their children across the campsite to their fancy VW T7 bus with a toothbrush in their mouths. If you manage to do that, you've got some great days ahead of you..." There's no better way to describe the site :)
With 26€ p.N (2 p./van) a fair price!

A wonderful place and campsite
We have been coming to this campsite for years. Simple, but in the middle of nature. Close to the clear river. Ideal for swimming in the numerous clear pools. As there is no electricity for the campers, a clientele meets here who know how to keep themselves occupied without media entertainment.

One of the most beautiful campsites in Corsica
A beautifully laid out campsite in a unique location directly on the Solenzara River. We were there at the end of June 2017 with a large caravan and got a nice pitch without any problems. However, the pitches for caravans are limited. Every pitch is beautiful because the campsite is laid out in terraces... and you have a beautiful view of the river valley everywhere. Swimming in the pools of the river is unique, with a view of the beautiful peaks of the Bavella mountains. You feel like Winnetou is going to ride around the corner at any moment. There are even a few small sandy beaches for the little ones right next to the campsite. The brave can jump from different heights from the rocks into the pools. A great experience in a great landscape!!! There is a great climbing park right next to the campsite that is definitely worth a visit. The Bavella mountains are ideal for long hikes. The campsite itself is beautifully laid out but only has basic facilities. There is no electricity at the pitches. There is also no grocery store. Food can be kept cold in the fridges at the wash houses. The nearest shop is about 10 km away in Solenzara. Baguettes for breakfast are available to order every morning in the restaurant. The restaurant is ok, but not great, but with a wonderful view of the river from the terrace. In my family (2 adults/2 children) we have stated that this campsite is one of the most beautiful campsites in our more than 20 years of camping. However, if you are looking for an upmarket infrastructure and organized entertainment, this is not the place for you. P.s.: We cannot confirm the comments made here about the operator. We found the man to be correct and helpful - just not a chatterbox.

A dreamlike place
The U Rosumarino campsite was one of our favorites on our tour of Corsica. Unfortunately, we knew right from the start that we wouldn't be able to stay any longer, as the biggest disadvantage of this campsite is the lack of electricity. All the other minor disadvantages are completely offset by the unique... location of the campsite. Swimming in the adjacent bathing pools is a dream and far surpasses any other beach vacation. The reception at the campsite by the owner couple was very friendly. I can't complain about the Irishman's alleged grumpiness, on the contrary, we had a very lively conversation about our upcoming vacation in Ireland. Unfortunately, we were seated next to an extremely sociable Ruhrpottler who we just couldn't get off our backs. (Sorry Rüdiger...) The pitches are very comfortably situated, but rather unsuitable for larger motorhomes. The sanitary facilities were indeed a bit outdated, but always clean. Despite the beautiful location, the price of the site is quite reasonable by Corsican standards. The same applies to the restaurant next to the campsite, which offers a wonderful view of the small valley with the bathing pools. Eating out is something of a luxury in Corsica, but here it was relatively cheap and still very tasty. We would have liked to stay longer at this wonderful campsite, but unfortunately it wasn't possible due to the lack of electricity, otherwise you could easily stay here for a whole week. In terms of ambience, it was clearly the most beautiful of the campsites we visited in Corsica.

The site is located directly on the Solenzara with super beautiful bathing spots. The pitches are spacious. The site is very simple and close to nature. The sanitary facilities are very old except for 2 toilets, but were mostly clean.

Reception by the two ladies of the house was very pleasant and friendly. However, our experience (She & He, 29 & 32) ended unhappily due to a banal misunderstanding. Seating seems to be allocated solely by the "grumpy" patron (already described here), an Irishman. Unfortunately, we had agreed with the... lady at reception that we would be contacted as soon as we found a seat. No sooner said than done. However, the patron seemed to be so displeased that he refused to give us a pitch without explanation and initially - despite the size of the tent - wanted to allocate a pitch that was far too small (covered in roots and stones --> parking space for a camper van or car) and then, at the second attempt, another !deliberately! even smaller pitch (more like a parking space in front of the reception). Other, larger spaces were available (according to reception, nothing is reserved here. Tents were also there before, or were dismantled during our short presence) but he did not want to allocate them. Disappointed, we left the site. The patron could not be persuaded to allocate one of the larger, free pitches. In the end, we were turned away in a rather grumpy and unfriendly manner. The highlight of the whole thing was the statement that he would get the pitch full anyway and that we could leave if we didn't like the pitch allocation.

The site is in a really great location, the bathing pools are a dream. The restaurant was also good. But - the welcome from the older gentleman was so grumpy and falls into the category of not at all possible. Being welcome is really something else. For (larger) motorhomes only conditionally suitable,... only some pitches in the area to the Solenzara River are accessible and offer space. There is no electricity !!! You can charge your cell phone/razor for 50ct at the reception. To the sanitary facilities - house 1 washbasin only outside, cold water, no showers, 2 sitting toilets, otherwise standing toilets. No light in one and door cannot be locked. Cleanliness acceptable. House 2 a little better, showers (too few for the whole site), hot water during the day, cold in the evening, washbasin outside, standing toilets, cleanliness acceptable. Bread rolls can be ordered at reception. The lady the next morning was friendlier, but we left the site after one night. We paid €22 for the one night (2 people + motorhome, beginning of Sept.). This campsite will never see us again !!!

What a great campsite! It is located about 7 km from the east coast (Solenzara) on the road to Zonza and the Bavella Pass. The approach is quite winding and steep. The campsite is located on the right-hand side of the road by numerous beautiful bathing pools of the Solenzara. It extends over a fairly... manageable flat area with very barren, stony ground (massive pegs and a hammer required!), broken up by numerous shady trees and flowering bushes. Most of the camping pitches facing the river are very sunny, the other pitches, which are no less beautiful, are shady. There are two sanitary buildings. Both are well maintained and clean; however, the "French toilets" stink to high heaven! Don't forget toilet paper! The site also has a small restaurant - the pizzas are delicious! Credit cards are accepted.
