- Kolja D.July 2024TeigiamiThe peace and quiet and the proximity to nature.NeigiaminoneFavorite placeIt's a lovely little campsite right on the lake. The operators are super nice. There is a family atmosphere on the site.Automatiškai išversta.
- Peter B.August 2021TeigiamiThe lake is beautifulNeigiamibehavior of the operator many prohibitions, one isAnnoying stayWe spent one night here, but we didn't really like it. The operator is unfortunately quite unfriendly, cycling is forbidden and the smallest infringements are immediately punished by a groundsman shooting at you on his bike. A very unpleasant and pedantic atmosphere.
I didn't think the facilities were particularly well maintained either.

camping kiosk was ok. After other campers left, we looked for our pitch. We noticed the bans right from the start: cycling is prohibited on the site, which was a disadvantage for our children as they could only ride outside on the... road. However, the site owners rode their bikes around the site at all times and other campers also used their bikes on the site and were greeted as they rode. We were advised that our dog did not cross the boundary to where he was allowed to run. The bathing lake is lovely and the island with diving platform and slide is also sufficient for the children. There is only a bread service two days a week apart from lunch. The nearest shops are a few kilometers away and rather difficult to reach without a car. When we returned to the site from out of town on Monday evening, we drove across the site a little too quickly. The groundsman followed us on his bike and whispered to us to slow down. He threatened us that otherwise we would be left outside next time. When asked that this could also be said in a different tone, the man got louder and louder and snapped at us more and more. We were then insulted as flat-chested. We told him that we wouldn't be visiting this campsite again if he behaved like that. He replied that he wouldn't let us stay there either. The next day we tried to talk to him as we were actually planning to leave. As we had already paid for the whole week, we wanted to clarify that we would pay for the nights up to that point, but would like our money back for the remaining days. This was not possible and we were given flimsy statements. When we tried to talk to the man, he ignored us and then gave us the finger. Never again.Automatiškai išversta. - Kolja D.May 2019TeigiamiSmall and quietNeigiamiUnfortunately no EC card payment possible, but there are worse thingsSmall great placeUnfortunately, we were only there for three days. - Rolf A.June 2017TeigiamiBeautiful, quiet location on the lake surrounded by trees. Good opportunities for swimming and boating. Great surroundings for cycling tours.Neigiamisomewhat remote locationBeautifully situated, quiet, close to nature, no frillsA beautifully situated, natural campsite right on the lake. There is a private bathing area with a bathing island including a slide and diving platform. The little ones can also play on the shore. Rowboats and pedal boats can be hired. Unfortunately, the latter were still being repaired during our stay.... The site is very manageable with a few permanent campers and a few tourist pitches as well as a large meadow for tents. There is a small playground with table tennis tables and a larger playground a few minutes' walk away. There is a kiosk on the site where you can buy ice lollies, chips, schnitzel, etc., but no food for your own consumption. You can get this 2 km away in Dabel, where there is a small supermarket and a café/ice cream parlor. You can also get bread rolls there in the morning. It's a nice morning bike ride through the forest while the rest of the family sets the breakfast table. Overall, the site is a bit older and not modern, but clean and in good condition. Nevertheless, it can't be compared with the 5-star pitches on the Baltic Sea, but who wants that ;-) The sanitary facilities are clean and sufficient. There is no hot water at the washbasins and you have to pay 5 cents for electricity (for the hairdryer). However, the showers are included. You have to take toilet paper with you at the entrance or bring your own roll. Takes some getting used to, but doable. Cycling is prohibited on the site, but this didn't bother us too much as the paths aren't very far. The location of the campsite is a good starting point for cycling tours in the surrounding area. As there is little traffic, you can usually cycle undisturbed through fields and forests and dreamy villages! The approach is a little further from the nearest highway. Conclusion: a beautifully situated, quiet campsite close to nature without a lot of frills and luxury, and at a very fair price. We paid EUR 22.00 per night for a mobile home without electricity, 2 adults and 2 children (13 & 11 years). If you like swimming in the lake, cycling and walking in the forest, this is a reasonable and inexpensive place to stay.Automatiškai išversta.

- Fritz K.June 2013Hello, the place is a bit spartan, as the previous comments already say. There is nothing more to add, as we had the same experiences and impressions. The operator should be more guest-friendly and tolerant with regard to the sanitary facilities, prohibitions and rules concerning behavior on the site.Automatiškai išversta.
- Jana G.July 2012I have been coming to this wonderful campsite for many years now! And I am completely satisfied! The space and atmosphere are just right here. The lake is very clean and offers various facilities (bathing island, pedalo, rowing boats etc.). The site is also quiet and tidy. All the campers are very friendly.... I don't have a dog myself, but I think dog owners don't miss out either. There's even a bathing jetty a few minutes' walk away where you can go swimming with your dog. I can't understand what some people say about the Friesenhof. I go riding almost every day on vacation. There is also children's riding for the little ones every evening (if required!) (vaulting and riding with a saddle). The horses themselves are all very calm in character and healthy. However, they are (as Friesians generally are) not beginner horses! There are one or two calm horses that are also suitable for beginners, but most of them are more for advanced riders. But if you are an advanced rider, there is nothing better than a ride in Kukuk! Friesian horses, water and wonderful gallops await you. The terrain is really hard to beat. If you are more of a beginner, you can take part in children's riding in the evening (like a little riding lesson, so to speak) or you can hire a carriage ride. The boss is the groundskeeper and also has to look after his land and his animals. Of course, he doesn't always have time straight away and you have to be a bit patient. But that's precisely why I like Kukuk so much. I love the peace and quiet and the fact that there is absolutely no stress here. Just relax from everyday life! You have to look elsewhere for entertainment etc.Automatiškai išversta.
- Holger K.May 2011You can agree with Bianca's comment, it says a lot. When you enter the square, the first thing you notice are prohibition signs. For example, it is forbidden to ride a bike on the square (!) - but driving a car even at lunchtime seems to be OK... A small area is marked off for dog owners; don't want... to stand three meters to the right of it! Waste disposal only between 13:00 and 13:30 (!). Sanitary building very spartan, no toilet paper, no hot water, no soap. I find the advertising with "Camping und Friesenhof" cheeky. During a short trip to see the site, we asked if we could go horse riding - the "boss" wasn't there, it wasn't possible. During our short vacation over Ascension Day, we asked again - unfortunately it wasn't possible. We heard that the children of another family were also disappointed. If you advertise the Friesenhof, there should also be horses available. The only nice thing about the site is the lake in good weather - but that's another drawback, because then the people from the surrounding villages come to swim. You won't see us there on the campsite again.Automatiškai išversta.
- Bianca K.August 2010Only the bathing lake should be mentioned here. The sanitary facilities urgently need to be renovated. No toilet paper, no soap, no hot water at the washbasins, you have to pay extra for electricity at the washbasin (5 cents for 1 min.). The number of people allowed to enter the "wash house" is restricted by issuing keys. Shower cubicles far too narrow. The nearest shopping facilities too far away. Not recommended for dog owners.Automatiškai išversta.
