- Michael P.August 2017TeigiamiClose to Skaftafell National Park, lots of spaceNeigiamiLoud, many (day) tourists, sanitary facilities very uncleanPractical, but nothing more.We chose the campsite because we wanted to go hiking in Skaftafell National Park. The site is ideally located as a starting point. You can set off straight from your tent and start walking. The area is large, actually far too large. So there's plenty of space, but when it's full, it gets noisy. So there's... not much in the way of peace and quiet, especially in the evening. The meadows are flat, so they are well suited for tents. It is mowed regularly, so it is also good. There is 1 washing machine and 1 dryer. It is therefore difficult to get your turn. You have to wait a long time. However, the sanitary facilities were subterranean. It was cleaned daily, but only a short time later it looked terrible again. It is a functional washroom. You feel uncomfortable there. We have seen many campsites around the world, but rarely such filthy washbasins and toilets. There is a cafeteria next to the visitor center where you can have breakfast. However, it is very expensive (which is normal in Iceland) and not particularly good. For hitchhikers, the connection to the bus network is very good. The bus lines run several times a day. You also have to expect a lot of day tourists who walk to Svartifoss and have to pass the tents through the campsite. This increases the noise level on the site. Tents should be locked with a lock and no valuables should be left in the tent. The nearest supermarket is in Kirkjubæjarklaustur, about 70 kilometers away. So you will need supplies if you want to stay longer.Automatiškai išversta.
- Kim H.July 2015TeigiamiThe hikes and tranquilityNeigiamiPayment for bath - do you have Icelandic coins - I guess not.Between 2 glaciersThe site is well located right between glaciers, where you can faintly feel the cold from the glaciers. hiking to Svartifall Unfortunately, there is only cold water and you have to pay for a shower. There is a barbecue bar and accommodation is at the museum adjacent to it. There is no Wifi, but it is a very quiet place.Automatiškai išversta.
- Guido F.September 2014TeigiamiTop starting point for hikes in the national parkNeigiamiNo swimming pool nearbyBest location for Skaftafell NPThe place is big, but it has to be, because it is the only place near Skaftafell National Park. Unfortunately there is no swimming pool. The sanitary facilities are good, but there should be more in the high season. Showers are included in the price. For guests with a tent, it can sometimes be difficult... to pitch a tent because the ground is stony under the thin layer of grass. If it rains for a long time, the ground is a bit boggy. Heavy camper vans have their problems here. You can make wonderful hikes from this site.Automatiškai išversta.
- an k.August 2014Large squareVery large campsite with shopping facilities, tour offers, sanitary facilities in order, ideal hiking area, costs for 2 persons, tent, 1 night 2900 iskAutomatiškai išversta.
- Thomas M.May 2014TeigiamiThe proximity to the Svartifoss waterfall and the hiking trails to the glaciers and the possibility to dry wet clothes under cover.NeigiamiHot shower and wifi are extraExpensive campsite in the national parkThe site is beautifully laid out, right next to the center of the national park. When we visited at the end of May, it was already quite full and the sanitary facilities were too small when it was full. We paid 1800 crowns per person, which is also a lot for Iceland. Hot shower not included and for 30... minutes wifi would have been another 500 crowns extra. There is a restaurant and a very small store, so it is better to stock up on provisions beforehand.Automatiškai išversta.
- Marius S.July 2012The site has a good location, but is very crowded because it is the only one in the vicinity. The notices and prohibitions stuck everywhere are also annoying. It is certainly a good place to explore the park, but not a nice, quiet (camping) spot.Automatiškai išversta.
- Rolf P. M.August 2010Very large, heavily populated site right next to the information center for the national park with lots of hiking and leisure opportunities. Peace and quiet was disturbed by late-night celebrants and constant slamming of car doors until after midnight.Automatiškai išversta.
