Cosily situated in the valley of the river Viaur with a magnificent view on a medieval bridge and the old Thuriès castle tower you'll find Camping de Thuriès", a tranquil camp site for real nature lovers. 35 Spacious and shaded …pitches in a green setting give you all the rest you need. There is a small swimming pool and a playground for the children. A beach alongside the proper river offers you lots of water pleasure. For the real “walkers”: a footpath "GR" is passing alongside the camp site. Lately we created the “river pitches”, extremely spacious (150-200 m²) and overlooking the river. Very old, majestic trees offer you enough shade to pass the hottest moments of the day. The reception at the entrance offers fresh bread in the morning, the regional Gaillac wine, groceries and ice cream. Just to enjoy the site, to taste the wine or eat an ice-cream you’ll take a seat on the terrace in front. To discover the nicest parts of the Tarn and the Aveyron we’ll give you an interesting collection of tourist information. The sanitary with hot showers and washbasins is kept very clean. At the side you will find modern lavatories. A washing-machine is at your disposal in the kitchen of the reception. The village of Pampelonne, with its authentic French atmosphere, offers you a café/restaurant managed by an Englishman, small shops and every Wednesday night it's "party time".......eating on long tables, tasting the regional Gaillac wine and dancing afterwards with the villagers. Do you like some exercise…..just rent a canoe or kayak to make a trip on the river the Viaur, in front of the camp site. Have a picnic and taste the quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
