- Patrick K.August 2018PozitīviLocation, restaurant, nice staffNegatīvaisCrowded, little shade, very loud at times, dogs running free, lots of cars, few sanitary facilitiesVery friendly, but overcrowdedWe wanted to spend 5 days there with four people (2 E, 2 K, 13 and 17). We left after 3 days. The site is very conveniently located in the Ardennes. There is a canoe and mountain bike rental 5 minutes away (on foot). However, when we were there (August 2018) the Ourthe was at low water and canoeing was... impossible. Swimming was not recommended due to pollution. Mountain biking at 35 C is not great either. The place was quite dusty, only at the water places there was shade under the trees. However, these are reserved for permanent campers. Occasional campers, like us, are crammed together in the middle of the site. Shade is in short supply here. The restaurant is open all the time, the food is ok and the staff are very friendly. There is a sanitary block for men and one for women, each with 2 showers and 5 toilets. These are quite rustic, but are cleaned twice a day. We arrived on Wednesday and in the evening there was a music bingo. From 11 pm everything became quiet. Everything was fine until then, except for the lack of shade. On Friday, more and more people, especially groups, flocked to the campsite, especially in the middle of the pitch. We stood like oil sardines in the middle of tents and lots of cars on the dusty site. There was partying and shouting from various corners, dogs ran freely across the site and cars drove in and out until after midnight. Around two o'clock in the morning, something like peace and quiet returned, from 7 o'clock onwards the dogs were barking. We packed our things and fled to the Eifel.Automātiski tulkots.
- Helmut S.October 2011The International campsite in Bomal is a small, beautiful gem nestling in an arc along the Ourthe. There is a large market in the village every Sunday, which is easily accessible from the campsite. The nearby towns of Durbuy, Barvauxe Sur Ourthe, La Roche en Ardenne, Aywaille etc. are well worth a visit.... Hiking, walking and cycling are also possible. The site itself is characterized by its well-kept lawn, which has suffered somewhat from the much sought-after plots by the river. But the pitches by the river also create a romantic atmosphere and the fact that the river is used for kayaking means that there is always something going on. We also saw a small campfire being built, which adds to the romantic atmosphere. I can't say whether the fire pit is permitted or only tacitly tolerated, or whether it depends on the density of the occupancy. The site is partially parceled out and the open area is freely selectable. The owners are quite relaxed when it comes to occupancy and are always very obliging and helpful. The grass was always short and the site was always well maintained. The site is located at the top end directly on the railroad line, which can also be heard on the rest of the site, but we never found it disturbing. Thanks to the new electricity system on the site, the power supply is no longer a problem, but the lighting system could have been a little more ample in terms of quantity and brightness of the lamps. Water supply and disposal is only possible at the sanitary building. There are also covered areas for washing up from the outside. The facilities in the sanitary building are very basic, but always clean. Unfortunately, only cold water is available at the washbasins via pressure taps. However, these should be used with caution, otherwise you can take a shower straight away. The water pressure at the washbasins is far too high. However, it cannot be regulated due to the pressure technology. So if you want to wash yourself, you should take a shower straight away, because at least the water is warm here. There was always hot water at the showers. Two showers for men and two showers for women is a bit meagre for the whole site. We rarely had any problems as we usually go in the early or late season. But when the campsite is full, it gets tight. In the restaurant on the pitch you can get drinks from coffee to a beer in a convivial atmosphere. You can also get a snack and a full meal at reasonable prices. As the terrace is partly covered and partly open, it can be used in almost any weather. As the site is run by a Dutch couple, it is mainly frequented by Dutch people, which often encourages socializing. In short, it's a nice little place that certainly has its own flair. It's not a place where I would want to spend my annual vacation, but for a short break or a long weekend, it's perfect for campers who aren't too spoiled. We feel at home here and are always happy to come back.Automātiski tulkots.
