"Functional campsite - Location in commercial area, not very appealing. Pool available, this is OK. Many rental accommodations, pitches rather "marginal business", poorly designed, loveless, sanitary facilities old and overloaded.

Profils

Camping Le Beaulieu is located in the French region of Charente-Maritime. The town of La Rochelle is close to the campsite, where you can stroll through the charming streets or along the old harbour to soak up the atmosphere of …the city. Not far from the campsite is the island of Île de Ré, which is connected to the mainland by a toll bridge. At camping Le Beaulieu, there are open pitches where you can set up your tent, camper van or caravan, and pitches that are (partially) sheltered by hedges. This allows you to choose a spot that is in partial shade or completely in the sun. During the high season, there is a night watchman at the campsite. There are also various rental properties. The campsite has a spacious heated swimming pool that can be partially covered. This is handy if the weather is a bit less nice for a day, then you can just swim. There are sun loungers around the pool in case the sun is shining. For the youngest children, there is a playground with water features and a separate paddling pool. There is a nice slide for older children, and aqua aerobics is offered in the summer. In the middle of the campsite is the restaurant L' Ami Temps, where, among other things, sandwiches, pizzas, chicken with chips and ice cream are served as desserts. In the evenings, campers meet at L'Ami Temps, because, especially in the high season, this is the central place for entertainment and socialising, such as paella evenings and music evenings with a disco and karaoke.
