On arrival, it was suggested that we only book one night because of the many biting midges. There really were a lot of midges! The pitches and sanitary facilities were fine. However, the sanitary area... was cleaned in the morning when it was used by a lot of guests. The showers can be operated with a wristband, which you get. We arrived at the start of the season in April, the reception was well staffed and new staff were being trained.
It was to be expected that there wouldn't be much going on at the start of the season, but the campsite filled... up more and more every day. The sanitary facilities were only partially open, but were perfectly adequate. They were in good condition, but the waste water systems in the toilets tended to get blocked, as I found out for myself. Otherwise okay, toilet seats are available, paper is not, the hot shower water was at a pleasant temperature. General cleanliness is okay, which is unfortunately also due to the guests. However, some details are lacking, such as the signage showing where to find what (dishwashing room) or proper door handles.
The fact that some facilities are not yet open at the start of the season is also nothing unusual, but it is very disappointing that the restaurant and store are still closed due to a lack of staff on a site of this size and this self-proclaimed high standard. Also, nothing was done to ensure that at least a bread service was organized to order, only the terse reference to the closed store. Catering therefore a total failure.
Naturally, mosquitoes were not a problem at this time of year, but the occasional strong mistral wind was.
Otherwise: beautiful location, spacious and level pitches, electricity and water nearby. Heated pool was in operation. You can be in the lively town in 10 minutes by bike and on the beach even faster.
Conclusion: A few nice days here, which could have been much better if it hadn't been for the restrictions mentioned. Pleasant CPNegatīvaisIn Corona times I would have liked a hand washing facility with paper and possibly disinfectant in the sanitary building. 5 euros for WLAN (1 day) Mosquitoes (but at least not yet aggressive) already in May - how is it in June/July?Relax and unwind...I was passing through and wanted to relax for 2 days. That worked out wonderfully, even though not all the facilities were open thanks to corona. But a bike tour through the Camargue and a visit to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer are perfect from this campsite. As is generally the case, we were given a map and a printout of the pitch numbers that should still be available. As I said "should" - half of the pitches were already taken even though it wasn't very busy in April. Nevertheless, we quickly... found a nice pitch with lots of greenery and went back to reception. The data was entered there and we were given the pitch plate for our car - with the wrong number. We explained the mistake and told the older lady that we were changing the number. (Now we also knew why the supposedly free spaces were not free) We parked our camper and less than 20 minutes later a bus arrived that was assigned to our space. Pure chaos. I wouldn't want to be there in high season. The site itself is great, spacious, clean and ideal for children. Definitely worth a visit, even for a longer stay.Automātiski tulkots.

I can't confirm the comments about cleanliness, it felt like the sanitary blocks were cleaned half the day. Location directly on the beach. Sts Maries de la mer can be reached on foot in about 20 minutes. You should not rely on the opening hours of the restaurant and store. The site is about 2 km outside the town of St. Marie. However, there is a great cycle path and footpath into the town. Surrounded by the sea and the Rhone, we felt very comfortable there. There is a pool area on site and probably also a spa area. Cycling... and the Camarque landscape were very important to us. There were no mosquitoes at this time of year!!!. The sanitary was new!!! and clean, so far the best on our trip to France. The site was well occupied and absolutely quiet. A small supermarket has the essentials. Especially pastries for breakfast. Only French and limited English at reception. Wash house not well cleaned.Average French campsiteWe stayed at this site for 4 days in the middle of May 2016. We found the site very quiet, with the majority of visitors being motorhome owners who, like us, usually only stayed for a few days. Our visit took place shortly before the big Roma festival in the village. We felt well guarded, as the gendarmerie... was present everywhere, including on the campsite itself. But this is probably only a temporary phenomenon. The sanitary facilities are relatively new, but could do with a little more care. Although the site was not fully occupied (approx. 65%), a visit to the wash house was not a pleasure. It was simply poorly cleaned, although the facilities still appeared relatively new. We didn't try the restaurant, so we can't say anything about it. The site is well suited to exploring the Camargue. However, if you're not into horse riding and cycling, then you'll be done visiting the Camargue pretty quickly. There are also beaches elsewhere and certainly more beautiful ones. It's great for dog people, because you can take your four-legged friends to the beach without any problems, at least in May. We can't complain about mosquitoes, because they weren't there, at least during our time.Automātiski tulkots.

Most of the pitches are big enough for a large WW and a small additional tent. There was a heavy mosquito infestation on the site all day, which could not be dealt with using conventional sprays. The sanitary buildings appeared... unkempt, insufficiently cleaned and exuded an unpleasant odor. You could buy bread and pastries in the campsite store, but otherwise the range was limited. The beach is divided into several small, rocky bays and is not accessible in the evening as the gate to the beach is locked with a chain. Otherwise, access is by chip card, which is also used to open the barrier. The center of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer can be reached on foot in about 20 minutes. The staff were very friendly and helpful.Automātiski tulkots.

It was unfortunately a wet summer; hopefully another year will be better. It's not the operators' fault! With local, very expensive sprays it went reasonably well. The children really enjoyed the slides and the pool; the horse ranch next... to the resort is also great. The food is typically French, not bad. The town is very pretty and it's easy to stroll around. You have to experience and see the Camargue! There will always be something negative that someone else doesn't even notice. Nevertheless - STAY AWAY! The mosquitoes will eat you up! There is a mosquito plague here - of course there is a swamp all around. The bites left me with big bumps, my wife's were huge with lasting itching!... Life and vacations are too short to be bothered by something like that. That's why we left the country in a hurry after two nights. The beach, or the "beaches" around the village are not the best either. Small stretches embedded in countless piles of mud and stones. Not exactly what you would call a "beach". The only real downside was the unclean sanitary facilities, which needed to be cleaned more often. The staff were friendly throughout. There is little shade on some of the pitches as there are almost no trees. Generally a good site, a little too big for us. Recommended for families.Automātiski tulkots.
