- Aliaksandr L.July 2023PozitīviShadow pitches Good facility Good entertainmentNegatīvaisSalt water. No transfer to train station.Expensive but interestingIt was a simple beach holiday. It took a whole trip to get to the beach. But the camping area is nice and pleasant.
A lot of children. A lot of entertainment. - Jolanda S.June 2023PozitīviBeautiful spacious site. Beautiful vegetation with cypress and palm trees. Nice that there is a sink ( no drinking water) and dirty water drain. Sufficient shade and sunNegatīvaisOn the "main road" there is a lot of speeding!!!! Max 10 but really sometimes speed way above that. Staff doesn't stick to the max speed either. Also the electric scooters drive very fast. Dangerous because of small children also using the same road.Pitch A9.3Too bad also that the restaurant "mas Bara" and "ono Bara" has deteriorated so much in quality. The terrace under the trees is a fantastic location. This gives so much more value to the campsite if the quality aspect would be given much more attention. Audience was always in spring the buffet on Wednesday.... Always crowded. Ono Bara should have its opening hours extended. Otherwise, this fantastic location will also disappear due to insufficient clientele.Automātiski tulkots.
- Anna B.August 2017Pozitīvi- great planted, shady grounds - beautiful pool area - close to the beach - Infrastructure/offer of the campsite - Pitches with washbasinsNegatīvais- Noise level depending on pitch (in the evening) - Pool area + sanitary building could be renewed - perhaps the surroundingsGreat resort for families who want to go on a beach vacationWe (2 adults, three children 4, 6 and 15) spent two vacations on the pitch in August 2016 and 2017. ----------------- ANLAGE: Great site, beautifully planted with palm trees, orleanders and many other plants. Clean and tidy. The groundsman constantly drives around the site, even at night (which can be... annoying depending on the pitch). There is mini golf, a playground, wellness area, tennis court, pool and much more. ----------------- PITCHES: We had good pitches both times. There are very different pitches in terms of location and size. Ours were big enough, central, but still relatively quiet. In the second year, however, it was a bit noisy at times, as the garbage containers and the cleaning crew's recreation room were nearby. The containers were emptied early in the morning, which of course caused some noise, and the cleaning ladies were standing in front of our caravan at 6.30 a.m. and talking loudly... The pitches on the "main road" are not necessarily recommended if you like it a bit quieter. There's always a lot going on here, cars coming to or leaving the site and in the evening everyone goes this way to the evening entertainment and of course back. This can be noisy. Above all, you can sometimes hear the animation on the neighboring pitch until 1 am. There are also pitches on a hill, which are certainly quieter, but then the walking distances are also longer (to the supermarket, pool, entertainment and sea). Every pitch has an electricity connection and a washbasin (but without a plug, like almost everywhere else) ;) The quality of the vacation here definitely depends on the location of the pitch. We were lucky, but there wasn't much choice either, as you (supposedly) can't make a reservation on the pitch. But that's not normally a problem. You may just have to wait one night on a meadow. But that didn't happen with us. ----------------- SANITARY FACILITIES: The somewhat outdated sanitary facilities are nicely laid out and are cleaned regularly. In the high season it is of course difficult to keep everything clean. And the operators can't be held responsible for some of the campers' "p...". The showers are quite sandy in the afternoon, which is understandable. Wipers would be useful here. There can also be waiting times in the afternoon when everyone comes in from the beach... ----------------- POOL: Beautifully designed pool area on two levels with pool bar. Children's paddling pool and pool with four water slides. Few sun loungers and sunbathing area. In the afternoon, the water quality is no longer good (slightly murky, sandy and sometimes grassy). It was very crowded in August. ----------------- BEACH: The beach is just a few minutes' walk away. You walk under a small underpass (railroad) on a path to the beach, which is very nice. However, the width has changed a lot in the last two years. In 2017 the beach was much narrower than the previous year and therefore there was much less space. However, we always found a spot, usually even in the front row. The beach is suitable for children because the water is shallow. However, there can also be strong waves. The beach is supervised and there are lifeguards. There are restaurants and a surf bar in the immediate vicinity. ----------------- FOOD: There is a small supermarket on the campsite, which has a good selection and has also greatly expanded its meat counter. In the morning you can get various bread rolls and baguettes (2 for €1). There is a Lidl supermarket nearby and a supermarket with a great fish counter. Next to the supermarket is a small store with beach accessories, souvenirs and so on. You can also visit the restaurant. It's a nice place to sit and it tastes good. We found the value for money to be okay. There are also two snack bars that offer take-away food. ----------------- ANIMATION: Daily animation at the pool, in the morning (water gymnastics at 11 a.m.) and in the afternoon, which we could hear well from our pitch. But it didn't bother us. In the evenings there is always a children's disco and show program, which is also worth seeing. But of course in Spanish, sometimes also in English. Depending on the show, it can get very crowded, but you can always find a seat somewhere. We did not use the children's entertainment. ----------------- SURROUNDINGS: There are lots of things to do, e.g. drive to Barcelona (1 hour) or to the mountains. There is a reservoir and a great mountain village. Tarragona is also not that far away and is also worth a trip. Otherwise, everything around it is very touristy: lots of campsites, restaurants and so on. ----------------- CONCLUSION: We had two great vacations at the campsite and can recommend it, especially for people with children. However, you shouldn't be too sensitive when it comes to the noise level, depending on which pitch you get. Otherwise, it has to be said that the sanitary facilities and pool are a bit outdated and could do with a "freshening up" soon.Automātiski tulkots.
- Thomas T.August 2017PozitīviBeautiful facility !NegatīvaisToo loud - during the day and especially at night!Unfortunately much too loud - what a pity!I came here as a child in the 70s - unfortunately very little has been changed or modernized on the pitches and in the sanitary area in the last 20 years.... !! Techno festival for 6 days until 05:00 in the morning in Roda de Bara and loud music from the camping arena make it almost impossible to get... a normal night's sleep !!!! During the day, loud music from the campsite's own music system at the pool - relaxation looks different .... The standard has dropped - unfortunately not the prices. Conclusion: Never again!Automātiski tulkots.
- Ralf S.April 2017PozitīviDreamlike standing under palm treesNegatīvaisHigh highway toll for the long journey. But that's not the CP's fault.Like in a palm oasisPalm trees over palm trees. Even on the long sandy beach. Simply fantastic. Super nice pool area, which will probably be overcrowded in high season. Very nice sanitary facilities, but a bit outdated. Large supermarket on site. Tip: Instead of bread rolls for breakfast, buy the crispy baguette.Automātiski tulkots.
- Harald G.September 2015PozitīviAldi, Lidl and other shopping facilities nearby, easy to drive to. Beach bar with possibility to eat. Very shady.Negatīvais80 meters to the beach under the railroad bridge.Park Playa BaraA real super pitch, highly recommended. Beautifully designed, like no other site, rinsing basin with water at every pitch. Lots of entertainment options. Pool, supermarket, hairdresser, very good restaurant.Automātiski tulkots.
- Andi -.July 2015PozitīviLocation and campsite designNegatīvaisnoneTop designed campsiteVery friendly welcome at the exceptionally well-designed campsite. Even without a direct pitch reservation, we always found our very spacious pitch during our four visits. Sufficient sanitary facilities available, mostly very clean, like the whole site. Campsite dominated by Dutch regulars. In addition... to the restaurants on the campsite, we really enjoyed the small promenade (with African stalls in the evening) and the El Torreo restaurant. The beautiful beach is also very clean. Excursions to Barcelona and Tarragona, as well as into the hinterland are possible.Automātiski tulkots.

- Christian M.July 2014PozitīviShort distances, well maintained, low cost of living,NegatīvaisPool supervision too strict, lack of German-language children's entertainmentOn the whole a very nice vacationWe stayed at the campsite for a total of 13 nights. The campsite is beautifully laid out and well maintained, with lots of palm trees and paved roads/paths. All the leisure facilities on the campsite are within easy reach. From the pool (approximately the center of the campsite) to the beach is about... 400 m, so it takes about 5-8 minutes. The pool was very well maintained and clean, but the supervisors were very strict. Jumping into the pool or taking balls/rings into the water was a serious offense. Parents whose children were under 14 had to supervise the slides. Ridiculous in our eyes, we could understand up to the age of 5. The railroad line running alongside the site was hardly noticed. The pitches are big enough for a caravan with awning and car. Only the resinous trees are sometimes disturbing. The shopping facilities on the site and in the surrounding area (towards El Vendrell) are very good. The prices are also no more expensive than in Germany, in some cases even cheaper. With a few exceptions, the staff hardly spoke any German, the language of communication was English. Funnily enough, however, the staff spoke Dutch very well, which was probably due to the high proportion (approx. 75%) of our "beloved" neighbors on the site. This high percentage was a negative aspect for us, as the Dutch are very "special". Nevertheless, they were mostly friendly, even if they weren't always sociable. Some of them couldn't behave like that, but then we Germans can't do that either ;-) From our point of view, it was negative that hardly any German was spoken in the children's entertainment. Especially for our daughter (5 years) there were some communication problems during the games, so that she lost the desire to participate.Automātiski tulkots.
- Reinhold B.April 2014Aqua park ???First German, then English + the staff is very very friendly + really everything available (including a cheap supermarket) + nice children's entertainment and children's disco + only a few hundred meters to the beautiful sandy beach ---I was assured in writing that three of the four pools would be heated.... The fact is that only two pools were filled. The lower one was so freezing cold that no one was ever in it, in the upper one there were only children from time to time. - The heated pools were the booking criterion for us - because of the children. Completely lied to => therefore never again - the fitness room and spa were only open for the four Easter days. After that it closes again abruptly ==================== + very friendly staff + everything existent, incl. cheap supermarket + nice children's animation and disco + just some hundreds mtr, till very nice sand beach ---they stated, that three of the four pools will be heated. In reality, only two was opened. The lower one was much to cold for anybody. The upper one was sometimes used by children's. - the statement of heated pools were our main reason to select this aqua park - just for the children's. But the completely laid => therefore never ever again - the gym and the Spa just opens over the four Easter day's. Out of sudden it closes afterwardsAutomātiski tulkots.
- Iwoki I.July 2013In my opinion, Playa Bara is one of the most beautiful places in Europe. The entire square is planted with trees and plants and looks like a huge oasis. The entertainment program includes daily evening shows with various musical and film productions in an arena directly on the square (Hair, Mama Mia,... The Lion King and many more). Here are a few videos from the arena: http://www.youtube.com/user/kowiaustria There is a discotheque directly under the arena, which opens after the shows (midnight). Around the arena there is a mini golf course, tennis court, football pitch, children's entertainment, bike rental, car rental, 2 bars. In the middle of the arena there is a huge pool area with water bar, restaurant, amusement arcade, yakuzza, children's pool and slides as well as a new wellness oasis with massages and much more. There are also daily children's entertainment and gymnastics programs. At the other end of the campsite there is a large supermarket, hairdresser, ATM, washing machines and dryers, excursion office offering bus trips to nearby towns and leisure facilities. There is also another nice restaurant. There are several sanitary facilities on the site itself, each of which looks more like an oasis with statues and palm trees than sanitary facilities, and they are clean. There are several bars on the nearby beach and in the evening from 8pm there is always a market where you can buy numerous things from clothes to souvenirs. There are some great restaurants nearby. The site is also a motorcycle paradise and invites you to take numerous trips in the beautiful region. The site is well guarded and the security staff are not squeamish. Anyone causing a disturbance or misbehaving will be expelled from the site immediately. It may sound harsh, but it guarantees a great atmosphere. In general, the staff are super friendly. If you want to spend a nice vacation with children and want to experience a lot, this is the place for you. However, party-hungry "IBIZA vacationers" are in the wrong place here.Automātiski tulkots.
- Sven H.July 2012was an absolute super vacation, such clean sanitary facilities as they were there on the campsite, you look in vain in some 4 star hotel, 2 restaurants and an imbis to take away were enough. our two children 1 year and 16 years had their fun there, so that we could relax really nice, like to go there again.Automātiski tulkots.
- R. K.August 2011We were at Playa Bara for a good 14 days in Aug./Sept.2011, i.e. in the full high season. Reservations are not possible, but there is always a place. The sanitary facilities were ok even when fully occupied, great pool area, the beach is quite narrow, but very long and very clean, so you can always find... a spot, the distance to the sea is between 150 and 500 meters, depending on where you have your pitch. There's lots on offer for the whole family, entertainment, shows in the evenings (although I'm not a fan of them), which really weren't bad. A wellness oasis has recently opened and the massages on offer are very good. There is also a disco on the campsite. W-Lan is lame and quite expensive. In the low season there are cheap offers, e.g. for pensioner couple 12,00€/night (all incl. for 2 pers.), for those seeking peace and quiet this place is not recommended, due to the nearby national road in the north of the place the noise of the vehicles can be heard at any time of the day, also in the north of the place is the amphitheater with the evening shows and there it goes until 24 o'clock mercilessly to the thing. In the south of the site, i.e. towards the sea, you also need to be careful, as the railroad line runs right through the middle and the trains often rush through. My recommendation is a pitch in the middle of the campsite, roughly at the level of the pool area. What I liked best: The unique landscaping of the site, beautiful stone walls, stone benches and plants and trees in such a well-kept condition. The name "park" is absolutely appropriate.Automātiski tulkots.
- Andreas B.July 2011This is the third time in a row that we have stayed at the campsite. The best time to arrive is mid/end of June. After that it is usually fully booked until the start of the off-season. Not without reason - the campsite is excellent. It differs from the other campsites in terms of its architectural design... and landscaped grounds. However, this is also at the expense of the size of the pitches, which is generally sufficient, and there are 4 parking garages on the campsite where cars can be parked. This again reduces the size of the pitches. Due to the increasing number of Eurocamping rental caravans, the number of pitches is unfortunately decreasing. However, I am of the opinion that the lower part of the campsite will be resized to 50x100m next year. New this year is a paid sauna and whirlpool temple with massage etc. below the swimming pool, but this is hardly used. With the high outside temperatures, hardly anyone goes to the sauna. The low prices in the early and late season are very good. As the temperatures in July/Aug are only a few degrees below the daytime temperatures at night, air conditioning in the caravan is recommended. The beach is about 100m away, along a railroad line. The beach is clean and the sea is clear. Evening entertainment shows, which take place in the large amphitheatre with a capacity of almost 1000 people or at the campsite's own Oasis Bar on the beach, round off the evening program. The campsite has a supermarket, but there is also a Consum supermarket outside the campsite - directly on the Arc de Bara. Otherwise, everything is great. The only disadvantage is that it is not possible to reserve pitches. This can get tight in the high season.Automātiski tulkots.
- Christian M.August 2010A dream place at first glance. Lots of "scenery", almost like an amusement park. Very friendly reception. Everything you could wish for was available. One disadvantage for us was that the campsite is on a slope and there are lots of stairs and steep paths to climb to the wash house, reception, pool,... restaurant and especially the beach. This is a steep walk and ends on a public road with a narrow tunnel used by reckless cars. The beach itself is rather small and heavily frequented by all the surrounding hotels and vacation apartments. Therefore a lot going on and also dirty. This meant that the planned 3 weeks only lasted one day for us. We like to go to the beach several times a day, which would have been stressful here. So back to the book of Roses where everything is at ground level and very close to the beach. Too bad, because the place itself is very nicely designed, with a lot of love and detail, also clean.Automātiski tulkots.
- Giancarlo P.July 2010Beautiful campground with large sandy beach in front, clean and equipped with essential services. Beautiful indoor facilities for the enjoyment of young and old, wonderful swimming pools and large amphitheater. Helpful and welcoming staff, even without reservations.Automātiski tulkots.
- Simone M.July 2010Very nice campsite with sufficiently large pitches. Quite full from mid-July - but the staff keep things quiet. We look forward to the time when we can go in the low season. We would love to come back.Automātiski tulkots.
- Achim S.July 2010Very beautiful garden-like grounds. We have been there 8 times with our children. But I have the impression that the place is no longer developing. The sanitary facilities are clean but have not been modernized for 8 years. Some are beautifully planted with flowers. Unfortunately, the quality of the... entertainment has deteriorated considerably. They used to be real professionals at the evening events, now they are young people who make an effort but still have a lot to learn. Apart from Spanish, almost no foreign language is spoken. The place has also become more restless at night. The operator lets new guests onto the pitches even at midnight and the new guests set up their tents and caravans until the early hours of the morning. In 2010, the pitch was not 100% full for the first time in July. The operator now lets every possible guest onto the site without much pre-selection. Especially the Spanish permanent campers are very loud at the weekends. Otherwise very nice botanical site but declining quality. It is particularly noisy in the south of the campsite, where the train runs through the middle of the campsite day and night. For people with children up to the age of 18, however, the site is worth a recommendation. The children have lots of entertainment and are well supervised on the campsite. Then we parents also have a vacation. But if you are looking for peace and quiet, the site is unfortunately not a recommendation.Automātiski tulkots.
- Eberhard D.May 2010This is a super place and we would recommend it in all its beauty. We feel very comfortable here and will definitely be back.Automātiski tulkots.
