Petra G.August 2024PozitīviThe lido is very suitable for children as the lake is shallow. The landscape is very beautiful and ideal for cycling. Good bus connections to Mainau and Constance. Ferry to Überlingen.NegatīvaisThe site has too few sanitary facilities for its size. There is very little gastronomy nearby, the restaurants I think are in Constance or Überlingen. Unfortunately, the last ferry leaves Überlingen at 17.45 and returns to Wallhausen, which is not ideal if you want to eat out in the evening. For me as a dog owner the place is not suitable because there is no possibility to swim and romp with my dog (who is an absolute water rat) in the lake. Dogs are allowed on the site but otherwise not really welcome.Beautiful locationOn the whole, the place was fine, but not perfect for me as a dog owner when the dog is with me. The children had a Punch and Judy program, singing, handicrafts and much more on offer from a Protestant church.
Unfortunately, we no longer have small children ourselves, but we thought... the program was wonderful, especially in these times when children are growing up almost exclusively with social media.
The call over the microphone was so funny and not at all pressurizing.
We should all think about where we stand.

Schlaffass expensive for what it is. Questionable eco credentials.Good location, but can be cramped and very noisyWe stayed for a week in July 2024 and booked a Schlaffass and a pitch for our caravan. A nearby “kids disco” at the beach wasn’t advertised or announced by reception. The Schaffass was right next to the disco sound equipment, which blared out music until 23:00. I complained about the noise to reception,... but was given a luke warm apology. Apparently the disco was out of the Campsites control. That’s fair enough, but my problem was that none of this was communicated. The campsite and local council prides itselfof their environmental standards and values, yet is happy to noise pollute the nature reserve next to it, which doesn’t make sense. Another downside were the daily “mass announcements”, which started at around 8 am. Further announcements were made during lunchtime curfew times. It all just doesn’t make sense. My overall impression is that Klausenhorn, due to its size, doesn’t have to give 2 Hoots about what customers think, because they will always have enough interest because of their good location to the lake. It can be a cramped and noisy site, with conversations and parties going on until long after 2am. You have been warned!

The children's program was taken over by a mission-conscious deacon who wants to turn people into Christians with low-threshold offers. During the camping... week, the loudspeakers were used three times a day to call people to "paint benches", "make wine" and "good night stories". - The whole thing is only really visible on the campsite website if you search for it. - We felt so harassed. The operator at the reception was very friendly. The location is ideal for excursions and with the Lake Constance guest card and the bus stop about 400 meters away, e.g. to Constance. Direct access to the lido is ideal for cooling off in the lake. The bread roll service and the barbecue bar for small snacks round off your stay.NegatīvaisContrary to many negative reviews, we were unable to confirm many things. The fact that there are spiders and flies in the toilets is not the fault of the operator. The cleanliness of the toilets is up to each individual how they leave the toilet. They are cleaned and the showers are also spotless. The only critical comment would be that you have to pay for the showers in the form of shower coins (EUR 1 for 3 minutes). However, this is also justified from an environmental point of view, as this is the only way to save the precious commodity "water".Very nice campsite with a great location on the lakeWe couldn't understand the many comments and generally don't give a damn about reviews, as you always have to make the experiences yourself.

The campsite is right on the lake. There is a lido with a sunbathing lawn.
Unfortunately, the campsite does not meet the requirements of a 4-star campsite.
The sanitary facilities are getting on in years and the hygienic conditions leave a lot to be desired. There is only one... cleaning schedule per day. At full capacity this is far too little.
You need shower coins to shower. 1 euro for 3 minutes. There is also no squeegee for the showers.
There are also no disinfectant dispensers.
We think this is a shame as the place itself still has a lot of potential for improvement.
We don't think we will visit the campsite again or recommend it to others.Automātiski tulkots.

Place unkempt. One employee at reception is very incompetent... and sees guests as annoying appendages. Kiosk staff on the other hand are very friendly. Snack bar on the pitch is very good. No more fresh bread rolls from the Kopp bakery in Dettingen. No coffee beans in the new kiosk (24€ deterrent price for 1 kg of coffee)dry rollsBread rolls are no longer available from Kopp bakery in the bakery van. Ordering online results in more expensive and stale smaller rolls with less choice. Tip: walk to the bus stop (departure 6.59 - 7.29 - 7.59 etc.), turn right, get off after 9 minutes in Dettingen-Ortsmitte, shop directly opposite... at Bäcker Kopp with a large selection, get on the bus next to it (every 15 minutes) and return. Makes for a 30-minute morning trip and a happy breakfast with money saved.

That has changed since the new manager, Mrs. Froschmuth, took over.
Motorhomes are now parked all over the site. They make deep furrows in the grass when it rains (if there is anything left).
Everyone at reception... is overwhelmed and barking at you. The showers are overcrowded, the toilets not enough. The same goes for the pitches, the hedges look like they're in disarray. Weeds everywhere, the grass has been torn up. The pitch management is already overwhelmed with one pitch, now they have to manage two. Very bad mood among the seasonal campers. The speeches are all bad from the management of the city of Constance.
CONCLUSION: There are better places to leave your money. I can't stand being annoyed as a customer. This lady really has the wrong job.High fence around the entire siteUnfortunately, it is not clear from the site plan that the site is separated from the lake area by an approx. 1.5 meter high wire mesh fence plus barbed wire. We booked a panoramic view for our children (unfortunately only when standing on tiptoe) in order to be close to the lake, but we had to stand... OUTSIDE, although we were right next to the public lido. When our son climbed over the fence, the groundskeeper gave us a run-in 3 times, he even said he would like to put the fence under electricity and at the same time the reception called on the cell phone to let us know again! What is this all about? Why don't they just install a door with a code? Is that a sore point? I have never seen a campsite that is so closed off. Otherwise the site is quite nice, the sanitary facilities are adequate and clean. However, the lady at reception was quite unfriendly when she told us on arrival that it was not possible to arrive at 11.30 a.m. (after all, we had traveled 930 km), even though our booked pitch was free. The next day, neighbors were able to arrive at 11.30 a.m., which was justified with site maintenance, which did not take place on the day of arrival but the next day. Overall, we did not feel that we were treated objectively and were outright lied to by reception.Automātiski tulkots.

The staff are extremely unfriendly and completely overwhelmed. You feel like a nuisance. The reception staff don't think it's necessary to say hello or good morning.
I arrived at lunchtime and had a question about the shower tokens. Everything... was sitting outside, including the manager. I got the answer: You can see that we are having a meeting, come back later. Afterwards, when I bought 6 shower tokens, I asked why I needed so many.
The corona rules were not adhered to in any way and the site management just shrugged their shoulders when you pointed this out. On the positive side, it has to be said that the cleanliness has improved.
The night watch did not consider it necessary to announce to the bawling groups at 2:00 a.m. that they should be quieter. Children are only moderately welcome. There was a sharp announcement that they should please be quieter on the village square (playground).
In short: Since the new site management, the competence in dealing with guests has gone down the drain. Some people should rather work in an office and not in customer service at an accommodation facility.
We will probably look for another place in future.
