Belcarra is an authentic Irish country village with one fine food store, one craft butcher, two Irish pubs, a sports centre, a tennis court, a Catholic church and a school. This year, 2017, we have a new fast food outlet. …The village is situated about 8 kms. south of Castlebar, the county town. Belcarra has won many prizes in the Tidy Towns competition. In 2014, the village has won the National Award in Ireland's "Pride of Place" competition. There are no strangers here, just friends you have yet to meet! There are many mapped loop walks through beautiful south Mayo. Our Riverside Walk is very popular. From Belcarra you can visit Westport, Foxford, Connemara, Achill Island and even explore part of the Wild Atlantic Way. The pretty caravan park is in the middle of the village convenient to all amenities. We cannot wait to meet you!
