"This place does not deserve 5 stars - We were at Les Bois du Bardelet in September, we had actually booked (and paid for) 2 weeks but left after a week. We didn't feel so comfortable there, the first few days there were a maximum of 10 people on the site. All facilities were closed, there was no bread service or other shopping facilities, everything had to be bought in Gien. I would rate our pitch with the rental bathroom with 5 stars, the entire campsite with large pitches is also very nice, also 5 stars. But that was about it. The general sanitary facilities would not even be enough for a 3 star pitch, they are quite outdated and dingy. The electrical connection is also not up to standard. The 5 star campsites that we know otherwise offer a lot more. The pool was already closed and the "indoor pool" didn't look very inviting. The two lakes are actually a dirty broth. We were also disturbed by what felt like 10,000 pigeons. On the one hand, the caravan, awning and car were all scattered and on the other, you could hear the cooing from morning to night. But we are one experience richer.

"Disappointing - where do the 5 stars come from? - The campsite adorns itself with 5 stars - the price level already goes in this direction. But the service doesn't keep up. Yes, the staff are friendly, it's clean and the pitches are good. But that's basically it. The sanitary facilities (mixed m/f !) are in contradiction to the 5 stars. The facilities are old and their best days are long behind them. The restaurant is chaotically organized. The promised 30 minutes turned into 70 minutes. But only because we asked - without asking we would certainly have sat even longer... And the range of products in the campsite's own store can definitely be described as poor. As the campsite is quite remote and lonely, there are no alternatives around the corner. Our conclusion: Disappointing, never again. The 5 stars are far from appropriate.

"A nice family place, also for bad weather (indoor pool/wellness) - Absolutely beautiful pitches and a wide range of leisure activities. Ideal for OMA/OPA and the grandchildren (smaller children). We were there during the Bavarian Whitsun vacations and had full use of the leisure facilities.

"Parts of the infrastructure closed from the end of August - We were very disappointed, the store and restaurant were closed when we visited in September 2014 and it was not possible to order bread. We were not informed of this at reception, on the contrary, we were given a beautiful glossy brochure and decided to stay a day longer. The site is outside of any infrastructure. Otherwise, the site was well-kept and very quiet, the staff were friendly and the sanitary facilities were cleaned regularly.

The Les Bois du Bardelet campsite is located in a beautiful area just a few kilometres from the town of Poilly-lez-Gien. Enjoy a family holiday in the heart of nature in this quiet environment between lakes and forests. You will …find all the amenities of a five-star campsite around the lakes, which are ideal for fishing or canoeing. You can look forward to an excellent restaurant, a small shop, an outdoor swimming pool and a covered water playground. This means that even the youngest children can experience plenty of water fun throughout the season! The pitches are all very spacious. In addition to the usual mobile homes on the campsite itself and the chalets by the bathing lake, you can also rent charming holiday cottages by the fishing lake at Camping Les Bois du Bardelet. They are suitable for four to six people and are equipped with every comfort. In addition to the fishing lake, the campsite also has a swimming lake. On one side of this lake are the chalets, on the other side there is a sandy beach with a sunbathing area. There is also a great children's pool with a water playground. There is also an indoor swimming pool with a hot tub. The campsite also offers an extensive entertainment programme for children. Next to the reception is the restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious meal. Meals can also be picked up. You can also book a very affordable half-board package here. Snacks are available here throughout the day. Next to the restaurant is the tennis court. You can use it to lose a few pounds...
