Beautiful vacation
We stayed at the nature campsite with the caravan in September 2023. We were able to choose the pitch we wanted, right by the water. The absolute peace and quiet made the vacation a very relaxing experience.

The location is great... unfortunately not much more
Once you've made it up the adventurous slope to the campsite, it's a great place right on the lake.
Fresh bread rolls can be ordered daily. The staff are friendly. The ice cream van also comes by regularly.
Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities leave a lot to be desired and the station for emptying... the chemical toilet is not for the faint-hearted. Old outhouse facilities probably from GDR times. With a corresponding appearance and smell. It almost borders on bodily harm :-) If we go there again, I will probably prefer to use the toilets on site again so that I don't have to go through the emptying process again.

The location in the pine forest and by the water is very beautiful. The access road is a bit bumpy, but ok - it's a nature campsite.

The sanitary building is actually very modern but unfortunately very unkempt. Nobody cleans the cobwebs or the dead mosquitoes on the wall. The floor in the showers is... usually very dirty.
Opening only 2-3 toilets out of 10, which everyone has to use, is not possible in the current situation!
This has nothing to do with keeping your distance - it's just about having to clean as little as possible.

Lots of permanent campers.
Electricity boxes very widely distributed.

Loud drinking parties with a fire in the forest under a tarpaulin were simply tolerated - nice for the participants, unpleasant for the neighbors.

NATURE PURE
The campsite lives up to its name. There are pitches in the pine forest or on a non-parceled meadow, there is something for everyone. The meadow has a small toilet block, a large sanitary building with sufficient washing and shower facilities as well as washing-up areas, washing machine and dryer. There... is also a kiosk with a bread roll service and snacks for emergencies. If you arrive with your own boat, you can use the campsite's own slipway or hire canoes and kayaks on site. What bothered us most during our stay was that the sanitary buildings were only cleaned sporadically and that there were very few power points on the entire campsite - you have to have a lot of cables with you to ensure you have a power supply even in the furthest corner. The last New Year's Eve party had left its mark and these remnants can still be seen now (mid-April). The access road from the village of Fleeth to the site is a test track for the caravan's chassis. Conclusion: If you don't spend the whole day on the site, you can overlook the minor inconveniences. You can also get a grip on the cleanliness if you want to.

Beautiful campsite for nature lovers
We were with 3 friends (25 - 30 years old) over the Whitsun weekend at the campsite at Mössensee. The campsite is beautifully situated - we also liked the bumpy access road over cobblestones and sandy paths, because it really gives you the feeling of being a bit removed from civilization. It certainly... gets a bit uncomfortable here with a large motorhome or caravan. We liked the campsite itself very much - there are no fixed pitches - you simply stand where there is space and can also choose the size relatively freely - as long as there is still room. There is an area in the forest, which has a very idyllic and cozy effect and an area on a large meadow right next to the forest. There are designated fire pits in both areas where you can make a nice fire together in the evening. When we arrived on Whit Saturday, we received a very friendly welcome and were then able to simply drive onto the site and find a free spot. We chose a spot on the open meadow with a view of the Mössensee. As some large groups were already setting up, we had to "spread ourselves thin" - but that was no problem with 2 Bullis and 3 people. Once we had settled in, we were able to sit in a sheltered spot between the cars and watch the very busy boat traffic on the lake. There was also a constant movement of arriving and departing boaters on the site. The structure of the guests on the Whitsun weekend was very mixed. From families with children to water hikers of all ages to large (30 people and more) groups of friends, everything was there. The site management left all guests in peace - there was no insistence on adhering to any rules, you could move and behave very freely. However, this also leads to a negative comment: unfortunately, the larger groups were in a party mood and didn't seem to be very familiar with the term "consideration". As we were a group of men ourselves and certainly not children of sadness, our own tolerance threshold was certainly quite high. But when you go to bed at 2 a.m., you want to get some sleep and not be bombarded with different music from three sides. Of course, when asked about this, the already quite high alcohol level meant that they were not really understanding. It's a shame that the site management didn't take a little care to ensure a good night's sleep. It would have been okay to allow music until 1 a.m. due to the party atmosphere at the Whitsun weekend, but at some point it has to end - at least in my opinion. Outside of these "peak times" such as Whitsun, however, this site is certainly very beautiful, very close to nature and very quiet! The main building with all the sanitary facilities is located in the forest right next to the reception and is relatively new and well equipped. There are certainly a few shelves missing here and there, but you can improvise. There is also a very simply equipped trailer with toilets and a sink for washing up in the large meadow - but only with cold water. The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities was not always a hit - certainly also due to the large number of people. But that's usually down to the users themselves.

Beautifully situated
Beautifully situated site off the beaten track. Ideal for water hikers, anglers and campers. Nice and helpful operators. A small kiosk is available and has the most necessary items in stock. Boats and accessories can be hired. Toilets and showers are of recent origin and the facilities could be improved.... There is a lack of storage space for towels and wash bags. In addition, the entrance area is very narrow so that changing shoes often has to be done in very cramped conditions. This is not recommended with children at peak times. The lack of toilet paper and soap dispensers was disconcerting. There are very few power points. There is only one plug socket per power box. In my opinion, there is still room for improvement here. The disposal station for chemical toilets has been around for what feels like a hundred years and certainly no longer meets today's standards. The access for caravans and motorhomes is very bumpy (cobblestones or a sandy path with large holes). All in all, very scenic, friendly and helpful operators, infrastructure could be improved.

Great nature campsite
We were here at Whitsun 2014. Even though the site was quite full, we still found a very quiet spot. Sanitary facilities were clean, staff friendly, kiosk had everything you need, prices ok. Wonderful location right on the water.

When we were there, the campsite was very quiet. At that time, only the northern half of eastern Germany was on vacation. The pitches for tents are mainly on a large meadow and relatively unprotected. But there are also pitches in the pine forest. We had a camping hut. It's a simple log cabin with a... pull-out bed, a chest of drawers, a gas heater and a garden settee. Everything was kept extremely simple. No electricity or water. Most of the huts have a mosquito net in front of the window, but once the insects are inside, it is very difficult to find them on the wooden surface. Recommendation: bring a large mosquito net for the bed. The sanitary building was fairly new, tidy and clean. For naturists there is a nudist area right next door which is run by an association. The staff were friendly. However, my impression was that they only took care of the bare minimum. We felt very comfortable because of the peace and quiet.

We came to the campsite by canoe (water hiking) and stayed there for one night. A nice water hiking rest area with everything you need. Only the trailer toilets were unclean, but you could use the modern sanitary building further away from the tent meadow. A beautiful beach in the evening and bread rolls in the morning made up for it.
