The Omnia Camping Oven

The Omnia hob top oven is one of the most popular portable ovens available. With it, you can make almost anything you’d usually make in the oven right on the gas stove. It looks like a round cake tin with a hole in the middle, and it comes with a cover. Paired with the steel base, you place the Omnia over the stove’s gas flame. Its unique shape creates both top and bottom heat so you can warm up rolls, bake fresh bread or cakes, and even prepare casseroles in it. With a price tag of about €50 (£70), the Omnia Oven is also quite affordable.

The Foldable Camp Oven by Coleman

If you’re looking to save even more space, the Coleman camp oven is a fantastic alternative to the Omnia. This appliance looks like a cube, with sides about 30 cm long, and when you’re not using it, you can fold it up and store it in a cabinet. Using it is a bit like using the Omnia: You set the oven on top of a gas stove. Here, too, there are practically no limitations to what you can make with it because you can heat it up to 250 °C. For cakes and casseroles, though, you will need to get a baking tin that you can set on the grate that comes with the camp oven. The Coleman camp oven currently runs for about €80 (£45).

A Portable Oven and Stove in One

The Camp Stove Oven is a gas-powered combination device made up of an oven and a double-hob stove. The practical part: The stove and the oven can be used at the same time. The downside: It takes up a little more space, and you can only use it outside. That means it’s most useful when you’re camping in a tent or in a caravan without a kitchen. The Camp Stove Oven is a bit pricier than the others, and it’ll cost you around €200 (£200).

Mini Electric Oven

Some of you may recognize this from your first studio flat — mini ovens that run on electricity and often have a microwave function. Mini ovens and microwave ovens are very practical, but they do use quite a lot of electricity, which is why they aren’t very suitable for motorhomes running on the leisure battery. If you primarily spend your nights on a campsite, though, and you have enough space in your motorhome, you’ll have everything you need with a mini oven, since you can prepare all sorts of dishes that are usually made in the oven and, at the same time, cook on your motorhome’s stove. The cost of a mini oven can vary greatly between €25 and €150 (£25 and £100).
