A local resident threw a stone at our motorhome on the narrow access road. Side window broken. We received a nice welcome at the campsite at first, but after we had paid for two nights the help with the stone throwing was over. Not their problem. There is free wifi, but that is extremely bad, barbecue area yes but not delicious, showers men and women together, changing possibility only in the shower directly, pool is nice but smells extremely of chlorine, pitches large, extremely humid, because the campsite is in a forest.
Disappointing
The place was a disappointment for us. They are aware of the problem with the local resident and we are left with the damage.

A really nice and clean site with clean and spacious sanitary facilities, small and therefore quiet. The pool is rightly the pride of the operator.
Lucca is 20 minutes away by bike. The most beautiful place on our trip to Tuscany.

Small nice CP
as already described earlier - small nice CP with all sanitary facilities - is constantly kept clean, small pool with clean water, unfortunately there is no shopping possibility on the square, from 20.00 - 8.30 o'clock the barriers to the CP are closed and the operators (very helpful and friendly) are not present. The access road is as in the pictures - problem-free even for my 14m trailer - Looca is easy to reach.

Very nice little place......
...... with very friendly and helpful operators who organize the site with great commitment. The sanitary facilities and the beautiful pool were always very clean. After the renovation, the site is easily accessible via the central access road, even for long caravans. The concrete bumpers mentioned in... other reviews on the approx. 300m long (gravel) access road from the country road no longer exist. We had no problems even with a 12.2m long trailer. As the access road is winding and single-lane with no significant alternative routes, I recommend sending a "spotter" ahead on foot to avoid oncoming traffic. Each pitch has its own small grassy lawn with a large parasol, and there is a water connection at each pitch. The pitches are gravelled and nice and level. We would love to come back again.

Unfortunately, the campsite operator never responded to my repeated online reservation requests. I was only able to make a reservation by phone the day before. He was then very friendly. The next day on site we were rather disappointed. The terraces described were not directly accessible by car, so we... would have had to carry all our luggage up the hill (there are already handcarts). However, as we only wanted to stay one night, this was not an option. The pitches are also unpaved. It is purely earth/clay on the pitch. These have simply been dug away from the mountain, so when it rains, this is a "super disaster" for a camper. For motorhomes and caravans, there are nicely laid out, gravelled pitches further down. The pool and sanitary facilities are very nice. The access road is rather roughly gravelled.

Despotic groundsman with grotty access road
But beware: the access road to this campsite is not only countryside-like, as the owner emphasizes, but five high concrete bumpers have also been piled up here, which are almost impossible to negotiate for all normal to lowered vehicles. This can also be seen from the many scratch marks on the bumpers.... We had to uncouple the trailer and, fortunately we have a mover, push it over the bumpers and then couple it up again. The groundsman stood next to us and didn't help. This didn't stop the groundsman from snapping at us that we were visiting his site voluntarily and that he would point out the Countryside access road on his website. What's more, you are locked in from 8pm in the evening until around ten in the morning, when the groundsman turns up, so you can't leave the site. The groundsman himself is not on site, so vacationers are left on their own. The crowning glory, however, was that we asked for the exact price in advance by email and were then charged a higher price. When I pointed this out, the groundsman was very rude and threw the money at our feet. Conclusion: the site itself is in a very nice location, has a nice swimming pool and really good sanitary facilities. There is also a recreation room. However, in the fall the sun only shines on the site from noon to 3 p.m., otherwise you are in the shade of the mountainside. Access to Lucca and Pisa about 10 minutes. Wonderful cycle path to Luca available. Nevertheless, this campsite will never see us again!

For city visit Lucca or transit o.k.
but otherwise only a better motorhome site with pool and good sanitary facilities. Tight pitches less suitable for caravans. Lucca (approx. 7 km) easily accessible by bike. We had difficulty finding the site with a satnav and had to ask around as the software didn't know the routes.

Basically none. However, if you are looking for one, you will find that there is no changing room in front of the showers.
Perfect location for visiting Pisa and Lucca
Very nice place, which is somewhat hidden. However, finding it is not a problem as the owner has put up plenty of signs - please don't be put off by the access road, which is a bit bumpy. The site is beautiful and lies in a small valley. The pitches are terraced. This means that every pitch has a view... of the mountain panorama opposite. We spent two nights here and visited Pisa and Lucca from here. The train station is only a 5-minute walk from the campsite - 20 min drive to Pisa (2.60 p.p.); 5 min drive to Lucca (1.50 p.p.). However, Lucca can also be easily reached by bike. Good and inexpensive shopping facilities (Lidl) nearby. The site is very clean, well-kept and was only opened in 2016. The sanitary facilities are also in good condition and were cleaned several times a day. There is a room for washing up and laundry. Use of the washing machine is free of charge! Overall, the owner of the site is very keen to meet all individual requests and very grateful for feedback! We felt very comfortable and would love to come back!

Great campsite
The site is beautifully situated on the edge of the forest. Totally lovingly laid out with very nice large pitches. The sanitary facilities are very clean, warm and beautifully designed. Not typical of campsites but very homely... The owner is friendly and open to all questions, he shows everything that... is important. Everything you need is available. Lounge, laundry room with everything, beautiful pool and seating. Overall one of the nicest and best places we have ever stayed.

Beautiful "forest campsite"
We stayed at this campsite for just under two weeks in Sept/Oct 2016. Unfortunately, the highway and the train line are within earshot. Due to the tall trees to the left and right of the campsite, you have sun very late in the fall, and it is also gone relatively early. Great starting point for Lucca... (6 kilometers) and Pisa. Very friendly staff (speak English and other languages) keep the showers, pool and sanitary facilities spotlessly clean. Three kilometers from the CP there is freshly baked bread and focaccia, as well as ham, salami, etc. at "Buginelli" (a small "corner store") in Montoulo every day. -Definitely worth it - very friendly. I've attached a few pictures of the journey, it's not as bad as a CP colleague wrote here.

Very beautiful campsite, built with attention to detail
We stayed at the campsite for a few days in June to visit Lucca and Pisa and I can recommend it without reservation. The site is small and manageable and built with great attention to detail. The entire site is in great condition and is very well looked after by the site operators. Regional products... can be bought in the small store on site and (at weekends) bread and pastries are also delivered to order. Bicycles are also available on site and you can store in nearby stores 1-3 km away.

Beautiful campsite in a quiet location
We spent two days at the campsite to explore Lucca and Pisa. The campsite is located in a small valley and is terraced. In mid-September there was only one other pitch occupied. The sanitary facilities are very well maintained, and there are communal rooms with cooking facilities and TV. The pool is... also beautifully laid out with sun loungers and parasols. Those looking for peace and quiet will find it at the campsite. It is very well located for excursions to Lucca (5km) and Pisa (15km). However, the access road to the campsite is very difficult to find, especially in the dark, as in our case. The signposting is inadequate and the address was not available on our sat nav. Once you have actually found the turn-off from the main road, it is a very bumpy dirt road for several hundred meters to the campsite. Recommendation for caravans and larger camper vans: park behind the underpass after the turn-off, walk to the campsite and check whether you want to put your vehicle through this, or whether there is a space available that can be driven to. Hardly any turning possibilities! When I drew the owner's attention to the inadequate signposting, he became somewhat unfriendly, which was a pity, it was intended as positive criticism.
