Then the next thing you know is the groundskeeper O... . Who would hire such an out-of-time "lady" to look after a campsite? Unfriendliness seems to be her middle name. The term "guest" seems to be a completely unknown... foreign word for this "lady". I pay a relatively high price for the quality of the campsite and expect to be treated accordingly. Checkin went quickly and we were able to get one of the pitches right on the shore. It's nice that these pitches are not all allocated to permanent campers. There you stand on large concrete slabs, so you hardly had any trouble positioning the caravan straight and... level. Satellite reception was also no problem, but you need a long cable reel for electricity. We got water from the sanitary facilities, which only consisted of a mobile container. Due to the risk of flooding, the site is not allowed to build permanent sanitary blocks. The sanitary containers worked and were clean during our stay, but we didn't feel comfortable in them. And as the campsite was already full, there were often queues for both the toilet and shower containers because there were only 3 showers per gender and a similar number of toilets. The toilets were particularly full during social gatherings in the square's beer garden, as the (out-of-town?) guests also used the containers. The sanitary containers were relatively far from the start, so anyone standing far back on the site had a long way to go. The view from the pitches directly on the banks of the Rhine is fantastic. During our stay, however, the ships heading towards the North Sea came within an estimated 5 meters of our shore. What can be fun during the day, when you can chat for a few seconds with the guests of the passing river cruise ship, is annoying at night when the cargo ships slowly pass close to the caravan. Unfortunately, a good night's sleep is not possible. The railroad on the other bank didn't really bother us. You can quickly reach all destinations in the area from the campsite. Shopping facilities are not far away. There is a bread roll service. There is a small beer garden at the entrance to the campsite, but we didn't use it as it was usually packed shortly after opening. It seemed a bit as if the permanent campers there wanted a "closed society" among their own kind. But that's not a problem, as there's another beer garden about 100m further on with a terrace view of the Rhine. The last small point of criticism is the approach to the site, or rather the last 200-300 meters when you turn off the main road to the site. The road is quite narrow for caravans and motorhomes. They do fit through, but if another car comes towards you, you have to maneuver properly. This is not the site operator's fault, but guests should be aware of this anyway.Automatisk oversatt.

We had a front row seat right on the Rhine and could almost touch the ships. It was fun to watch the busy shipping traffic. The trains on the other side of the Rhine also gave the impression of model... railroads. The groundskeeper makes sure that everyone stands at the same distance from the Rhine so that everyone can see. The view went as far as the Drachenfels and is really fantastic. We cycled on the Rhine side as far as Linz and were thrilled. There are plenty of places to take a break. The sanitary facilities in the mobile wagons were simple but tidy. You should have a long cable drum with you to get electricity. You can also hear the ships/trains at night, but we didn't mind. We will definitely be back. You can also see the Rhine from the second row. We didn't go to the beer garden.Automatisk oversatt.

Shortly before arrival we should call because it was 3 days before the end of the season, the reception is no longer staffed and the beer garden is closed. We were also told that there was only one sanitary trailer left. Everything was nice and very friendly. As I said,... we arrived and the lady was on site. Beautiful pitches right on the water, all concreted so that you stand on solid ground. Bread roll service directly at the pitch!!!! Sanitary trailer: a professional trailer, a toilet with a hand basin, and a small room with 3 showers with curtains, 2 small washbasins with cold water and a fixed hairdryer. The place was very unkempt, the sanitary facilities in the construction container - terrible - that was stuffy, dirty only 1 women's toilet impossible. There was a 2nd container which was also available for the guests of the... bistro. There was an event in the evening and you can certainly imagine what the toilets in the designated container looked like. I spent most of my time in the toilet in my own caravan and only showered in the caravan. I couldn't sleep at night because the ship's engines were so loud and every now and then patyboats would pass by and I could sing along to the songs. The grass on the pitch hadn't been mowed and so the many potholes were invisible and therefore tripping hazards. Protruding tree roots also didn't make the night-time hike to the caravan any easier. Danger of falling. No lighting available. In any case, we were disappointed and won't be back. Some of the electricity and water connections were up to 50 meters away from the pitch.Automatisk oversatt.
