At every parcelle you had to pass to get to the beach you were barked at. Sunbathing and play areas became dog waste, as did empty lots and paths. Basins intended for washing up or laundry were used as dog wash basins. Dog hair in the showers! Even the bungalows are full of dogs.NOT RECOMMENDEDWe had chosen the place for the middle and low season, as the website advertised "no pets". A no dogs sign at reception! After bad experiences and the resulting fear of dogs, we hoped for a few relaxing weeks. But far from it, the campsite turned into a dog park. Hardly a dog on a lead, dogs running... free and constantly barking, even at night. We were barked at at every parcelle we had to pass to get to the beach. Sunbathing and play areas became dog waste, as did empty lots and paths. Basins intended for washing up or laundry were used as dog wash basins. Dog hair in the showers! Even in the bungalows there are dogs. Despite complaining to reception, nothing changed. Our only option was to leave early. Also, almost no-one adhered to the existing site rules! Some guests left after two or three days even though they wanted to stay longer. The operators are probably not concerned with the well-being of individual guests, but with the highest possible income. Have on 6.7.21 with our camping / VW bus with pop-up roof at about 14.00 clock politely asked for a free place and were immediately rejected without further inquiry immediately unfriendly! The lady at the reception was absolutely uninterested and didn't even asked with which car/motorhome we had arrived; ABSOLUTE NO-GO!!! We travel every year in the Tarifa-Barbate area with Camperbus, but nothing like this has ever happened to us in the whole of Spain; we then drove to Tarifa and found a good pitch there straight away! Camping Playa De la Plata is very, very bad and should be avoided, the ADAC rating is not appropriate!Not recommended!!!Not recommended!!!

- René R.June 2012The site is very beautiful and quiet in an undeveloped area (apart from a few wind turbines). The level pitches on tamped ground are surrounded by mainly young trees. Some of the electricity columns and lamps are so inconveniently positioned that, together with the tree borders, the pitches cannot be... fully used. The size of the pitches varies enormously, sometimes not even the car fits on the pitch with a small tent. Cars are therefore often parked on the paths. The sanitary facilities are pathetic. They are housed in two plastic containers. The toilets are so cramped that your knees hit the graffiti-smeared door. The showers are just the size of a standard shower cubicle, with the door only covering the middle of the body. The water supply failed completely for half a day. At least there is a beach shower. The highlight of the campsite: a beautiful wide sandy beach, gently sloping and very empty in the low season. The restaurant has a terrace with a sea view and free wifi. I can't say anything about the quality of the food as I haven't tested it. There is a tiny store whose opening hours are very random in the low season. The next village has everything you need. Due to the poor sanitary facilities, I find the campsite quite expensive. The site is not signposted in the village, which is narrow in places. In the village, always head south.Automatisk oversatt.
