Given the good reviews we finally arranged to spend the night at this campground. We booked a spot for a small tent including electricity for 2 persons well in advance and also received a confirmation of this by e-mail. This was no problem at all. When we arrived, the managers were busy with a bbq and... did not have much time for us. No problem at all. The host gave us a place in the small front yard, where there was already a caravan and a camper from campers who had also booked well in advance, but for whom there was actually no place available. This despite their reservation. We were not happy with the assigned pitch and had at least expected a pitch on the campsite itself. The host was quite gruff and it came down to the fact that we were lucky to get a pitch at all. After my wife pointed this out to the hostess, she discussed it with her husband and we were suddenly able to get another spot at the back of the campground. Since we were both very tired after a long and hard bike ride and had already removed all our bags from our bikes, we decided to pitch the tent on the previously assigned spot anyway. There was little sign of any hospitality, as stated so nicely on their website. Finally, after a shower, we went to bed. The next morning we were informed by the hostess, that she had been so stressed by us, that she wanted us to pack our things and leave as soon as possible. We were very surprised by this, as my wife had only indicated, not being very happy with the previously assigned place. Apparently any form of criticism was "not done" and the hostess made that very clear. According to her, we had arrived at the campsite at the wrong time. I think the huge argument she had with her husband during the night, which I was allowed to witness ( we were only a few meters away from their home ), probably also contributed to her stressful experience. We ended up taking our time to quietly pack our things, despite the insistence that we leave sooner. The only positive thing about our stay at this campground was that we ended up paying nothing. The owner absolutely did not want this and quite frankly, for the way we were treated, we would not have paid her a cent either. In short: avoid this campground. Despite promises of hospitality on their website, we noticed nothing of this. We were treated downright outrageously by both "hostess" and "host". Horny seniors who party until late at night, lousy sanitary facilities and socially inept owners make this stay an experience to forget very quickly.

Terrible campsite, never go there!
we did not feel welcome, we were snapped at by owner for no reason and host referred us to their backyard where we were allowed to stand, despite our months in advance reservation! Apparently something had gone wrong, but we just had to accept having to stand there..... Electricity was out of the question,... as was the peace and quiet with partying and drunk seniors who made a lot of noise until the small hours, which is apparently quite normal there, nothing was done about it by the managers, on the contrary, they were also quite drunk. Madam was extremely rude to us the next morning, because we had commented on the fact that the reservation (despite several promises) apparently had not been implemented in their system. No apology on their part, only the accusation that we had arrived at the incorrect time, which left the hostess very piqued. There were other people in the front yard, who had also booked in advance, where things had also gone wrong. People; get out of this campground with a-social administrators! Sin of your well-earned rest! Plumbing is also wretched.....

Ideal senior campground to unwind. Hospitable administrators.
Very cozy senior campground
Very pleasant campsite. Permanent campers organize pleasant activities in cooperation with managers. Not recommended for children. Plumbing certainly not new, but clean. Very nice area for walking and cycling. Beautiful neat places.

Beautifully situated site in Baarlo. Certainly not for everyone, but if you like it "charming", "nice" and very "familiar", you're in good hands here. We will certainly be back if we are in the area. Two small cottages offer a lounge with a shower and toilet, as well as a men's and women's washroom,... each with a toilet and shower. Another cottage can probably be rented as a vacation apartment. The whole thing is very cozy and not at all stylish, but with a very individual character. Beautiful pitches, all with electricity. The birds are the loudest... Approach to the Floriade (2012) approx. 10 km, but very direct. Chemical toilet can be emptied, but no disposal for camper vans. Recommended because very cozy.
