Sanitary outdated but very clean. Pool area well maintained and good for swimming. Bacquetts and croissants were available to order in advance.
We felt very comfortable on the pitch.Automatisk oversatt. - Thomas T.March 2024Positive tingBeautiful location in the countryside and small villages within walking distance. Large pitches Sanitary facilities are well maintained and numerous, shower heated. Shopette and restaurant available (only from May) Baguettes can always be ordered. Table tennis tables, "fitness studio" swimming pool from May.Negative tingNot all pitches with electricity Toilets are unheated and typically Frenchbeautiful campsiteWe were here in March with three families. The site impresses with its spaciousness and natural character.
The supermarket is 3km away.Automatisk oversatt. - Fendti B.July 2022Positive tingBeautiful mountain villages in the area and not quite as crowded as on the coast.Negative tingLong way to the coast... Very remote and too quiet for young peopleSummer vacation above the rooftops of NiceWe had finally made it to the Cote D Azur. We had chosen this campsite
campsite because we hoped to get from the hinterland to the interesting places like Nice, Cannes
Nice, Cannes, Monaco etc. from the hinterland. This also worked if you were prepared to use the highway and pay tolls.
The campsite is... quietly situated in the mountains and borders on Vence. It is already signposted in Vence and the access road is a bit bumpy. We realized that we liked the places in the mountains much better than our actual leisure plan for the coastal region. The tour through the mountains towards Grasse and other mountain villages/towns was really beautiful and we had a great view. As it was our first campsite in France, we had nothing to compare it to.
Everything is very uneven and natural, which also has a certain charm. It is very poorly lit at night. Pitches are available in
different sizes and there is a good stock of trees. This is absolutely essential in July.
The sanitary facilities are large and adequate. They are old, but always clean.
It is better to avoid pitches by the warehouse. There is a very big mosquito problem there. The friendly German-speaking receptionist was able to give us good information about some things in the area. (e.g. there are several supermarkets here, of course pharmacies, a small weekly market in Vence and in the old part of the town you can eat and stroll around. )
The pool area is really small. There is also a small playground and you can get baguettes and croissants in the mini supermarket if you order in advance. We didn't use the restaurant on site, but it was busy in the evenings. The path to the sea is at least 10 km away and it takes some time to get down to the beach.Automatisk oversatt. - Irmgard F.June 2022Positive ting-Quiet location - beautifully laid out - very friendly -free bus to VenceNegative ting-Pitch totally unkempt -toilet paper in front of toilets -bad WLANunkempt pitchesWe were looking forward to our 200 square meter pitch. It is very rare to find such large pitches in the south of France.
Unfortunately, the pitch was totally unkempt and the weeds were knee-high, so we laid out several rugs to make us feel more or less comfortable. Why wasn't it mowed? In the high season... this is probably not necessary as the sun burns everything away, but we seemed to be the first guests on this pitch in the season. As a result, our stay was not as positive as we had hoped.
The sanitary facilities are old but clean.
You can take the dog for a nice walk and a free shuttle bus takes you to the beautiful town of Vence.
We enjoyed using the swimming pool after our excursions, although it is definitely too small when fully occupied.
You can pick up delicious baguettes every morning if you order in advance.
Friendly information about the area is also provided.
The access road is very bumpy. In general, the road network in the area is very old and bumpy.
The traffic is immense and we would never have thought that it would take ages to cover short distances, even in the low season.
Conclusion: We won't be coming back.Automatisk oversatt. - Markus L.June 2017Positive tingQuiet complex with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Good value for moneyNegative tingTheGreat facility in the quiet hinterlandThe site is well maintained and is only a few kilometers from the sea. Here you can spend a vacation by the sea without the evening hustle and bustle that is usual on the campsites directly on the coast. There are countless beautiful mountain villages in the surrounding area.Automatisk oversatt.

- Nathalie W.August 2015Positive tingNice and quiet and yet close to the Côte d'Azur. We would love to return to this beautiful place! We were there last summer and loved it. Quiet and yet close to the Côte d'Azur. We had a nice big pitch for a caravan and a large tent for the 3 children. Despite the high season, the site was not too full. Our dog, who didn't cost anything extra, also felt very comfortable and was able to join us on... the sunbathing lawn in front of the swimming pool without any problems (in the shade, of course). Friendly staff, who quickly sorted out any problems with the electrics, because even with the new 10 amp fuse there were unfortunately small outages from time to time. They also spoke a little German at reception, which was particularly useful for the children. The restaurant was good but quite expensive, the small grocery store was well stocked and fresh baguettes, bread and croissants were available every morning. Bus stop right at the entrance to the campsite. The sanitary facilities were always clean and sufficient, even in high season. Nice swimming pool with sun loungers and two pools.Automatisk oversatt.
- Gerhard S.June 2014Positive tingPeace and quiet, large pitchesQuiet, clean campsite with plenty of spaceBeautifully situated campsite in a wooded area with very large pitches not only for caravans but also for tents. In the front area there are about 60 pitches with electricity, water and drainage. Behind the two swimming pools many pitches with electricity and behind the sanitary buildings about half... of the site is still without electricity. Night-time peace from 22:30 is strictly observed. Small grocery store at the entrance to the campsite with fresh bread every day. Very friendly staff. Clean sanitary facilities centrally located in the middle of the site. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you. The campsite is also suitable for excursions to the sea (approx. 13 km), Nice, Cannes, Monaco, Grasse, St. Paul de Vence or the Maritime Alps. Bus stop in front of the campsite entrance.Automatisk oversatt.
- Maranda S.April 2014Positive tingGood value, away from the trafficNegative tinga drive away from the coastGood value for the areaWe chose Domaine de la Bergerie as our place to stay near the Cote d'Azur. We were trying to avoid the traffic, crowds, and expense of the Cannes/Monaco area. We enjoyed our stay there and would definitely go back should we find ourselves in the area again. Domaine de la Bergerie is a large campground... with facilities set up to handle what we assume are the large crowds of summer. We were there in late April when very few people were there. There was no one within 100 meters of us. Bread was still delivered in the mornings, and we received a 25% discount because we were there in low season. With a party of 6 people, I believe the cost was less than 40 euros per night. The weather was great, and we can enthusiastically recommend the area in the late spring. Restrooms are older but clean. We cannot say what the crowds or weather are like in the summer high season. Electricity can be an issue there. This is not the only campground in France which is this way. Here you can get a site/pitch with 3 or 4 amps, but we paid more for a site with 5 amps. This was still an issue with our fridge, laptops, and water boiler. My suggestion for this campground and many in France is that they update their electrical system to address the modern times. This place is a solid 15-20 minute drive from the coast. Signage is fairly good. This drive gets you peace and quiet, lower costs, and Vence, which is a more normal town. We found as a whole, however, that the Cote d'Azur area, as pretty as it is, was just a bit too crowded for us. The traffic could be a real problem. We wanted to see Monaco, etc.; but then we just really wanted a few quiet days on the beach. This region is not really that place. This does not reflect negatively on Domaine de la Bergerie, however, which is a peaceful retreat from the Riviera scene. (For the quiet beach on the Mediterranean, we found the area between Martigues and Sausset les Pins to be quite nice).
- Bernhard S.August 2013Super friendly welcome, very spacious pitches, very well supervised night's sleep, excellent location for visiting towns on the coast and then escaping the hustle and bustle again. Also well suited for excursions into the Maritime Alps. The store is well stocked, but the restaurant is mainly oriented... towards Dutch cuisine. Bicycles (for sporty types), motorcycles or cars are a must if you want to do something here. However, there is also a bus service from the campsite. Ideal for our needs (short vacation), too expensive for the location for a longer stay.Automatisk oversatt.
- dare b.July 2011The biggest advantage of the campsite is that it is never fully occupied. A good base for visiting coastal towns and inland. It provides good basic provision for those who know what to do, the camping is mainly in the woods and provides good shade. The only thing is that there could be more sanitary facilities.Automatisk oversatt.
