Close to the lake with swimming opportunities, super-friendly service, incredibly helpful, restaurant, bread roll service and small shopping facilities, beautiful walks around the lakes, absolutely quiet location in beautiful nature, spacious pitches, clean sanitary facilities

If you are at the bottom of the lake, the path to the showers is a little further
So beautiful, come back again and again
This was not our first stay and will not be our last. The host family is super friendly and helpful. The pitches are spacious and very nice. You are only meters from the water and the lake is wonderful for swimming and SUPER.

Short term only
Tourist campers stand far down on a gravelled area with no shade. Everything looks careless and makeshift, the paths are covered with the coarsest gravel. No WLAN in the tourist area. The lake is occupied by locals at the weekend and the little bit of lake access is then hopelessly congested.
The site... looks half-finished, with building materials and loveless areas everywhere. There is a toilet container in the tourist area - showers are high up in the main building.
Garbage is simply thrown into a garage on top of the other garbage bags.
The restaurant makes up for everything, a very well run place.

The campsite is great.

The landlord of the pizzeria is not at all, something so unfriendly.....First came the wrong food, which we kindly accepted anyway....thanks to the bill being cheated by 11 euros. An apology?...not a word. You'll never see us again

We are sorry if you had a problem with the landlord. We have spoken to him about it.
It is not helpful for us as operators if we do not receive a good rating because of poor service from the tenant of the restaurant.
It is very difficult to find good landlords.

Successful expansion
The two disadvantages of the two previous reviews are gone. The reception is now brand new (Good Friday 2018) directly at the entrance and there is now also a restaurant. It is said to be very good.

Our 2nd CP in this region - absolutely recommendable
Our 1st CP was the "Am Sonnenbach" directly on the Sonnenbachsee in Ellwangen, only a few minutes and kilometers away is the CP Häsle directly on the Häslesee. Both campsites are recommendable, but the more beautiful lake is clearly and indisputably the Häslesee. The registration is 200-300m away from... the actual campsite, but this is not a problem as we drove right past it anyway. Stop briefly, jump in and check in, have everything explained to us and drive on to the campsite. From then on you have peace and quiet, we didn't see the operators the whole time. At Sonnenbach, the operators lived directly on the site, the reception was also in the campsite and you often saw them at work, so there is a little closer contact (but no surveillance). Here you have nothing to do with the operator apart from checking in and out and rarely cross paths, so on the one hand you have absolute peace and quiet, on the other hand you can feel a bit left alone. Everyone has to decide for themselves what they prefer. We didn't find it bad, it was just a bit unusual at first. In any case, we received a friendly welcome. While there is a great pizzeria at Sonnebach and the operator offers a bread roll service, here you are left to your own devices. I.e. no restaurant but during the vacations there is a small house on the CP Waldeck, which is right next door, where a regional baker offers bread rolls for a few hours. We just walked over and got some. Outside of the season and vacations, however, you have to drive into town and go shopping yourself. If the operator offered a bread roll service like at CP Am Sonnenbach, that would be another plus point. The price is very good, we would definitely come back! A plus point compared to many other campsites, you are often sent from the campsite at 10-11 am or have to pay for a full or half day extra. Here the check-out is only at 3pm, which is great so that you don't have to leave early in the morning. After that you pay 2.00 or 2.50 per person for late departure (I can't remember exactly). Only the CP "Am Sonnenbach" and the CP "Fuchs" are even more generous. At the Sonnebach they only charged 2 days for our stay from Fri.-Sun. (whether this is always the case or was only accommodating in this case, I don't know). The Fuchs campsite, however, only charges for the nights, so we could have stayed until the evening on Sunday and still only paid for 2 days. (Report about the CP will follow) All other CPs charge 3 days. After all, there are 7 of them in the region. CP Häsle is a recommendation in this region, we recommend it together with the two others mentioned above. Waldeck is a permanent campsite only.

Good space, but with a few quirks
There is no space in front of the barrier to park a car and trailer during check-in (or a suitable space is blocked by cars), the reception is a few hundred meters away from the campsite - a walk is required as there is no suitable turning area for car and trailer. -=-=-=- At the reception you are welcomed... in a friendly manner and have to pay a deposit of 15 euros per lanyard (key + transponder). With the transponder you can later get through the access barrier, into the sanitary building and to 8 minutes of hot water for showering, the key opens and closes the gate to the lake in the evening/night. -=-=-=- Almost the whole site is occupied by permanent campers, but there are about 8 to 10 tourist pitches near the sanitary building, 3 of which have a strip of grass pavers and gravel. Power supply 16 A with CEE, there are also 2 water connections and 4 waste water connections on the pitches. The pitches are spacious, so even larger caravans and motorhomes should have no problems here. -=-=-=- The relatively clean wash house is nicely and functionally furnished, toilet paper, soap and paper towels are available. There is also a family shower room and a reading corner stocked with books. The motion sensor lighting in individual rooms is a little annoying - fortunately not in all of them. The access restriction to the house by transponder is very annoying: while two of the family are showering, the others can't even go to the toilet from outside if they have two key rings. -=-=-=-- There are no shopping facilities on the site, but you can at least buy baked goods at the neighboring Waldeck campsite between 8 and 9:30 am in the high season. -=-=-=- The permanent campers we met were friendly throughout, but occasionally they drove past the playground a little too fast in their cars. -=-=-=- If you want to spend the night on the site without your own camping vehicle, you will find something very special: two "sleeping barrels". -=-=-=- Waste disposal: A yellow bag and a plastic bag for waste separation are available at reception. However, you have to carry all the garbage with the bags several hundred meters along the country road to the reception - really not a camper-friendly solution. -=-=-=- However, we think the option to stay on the pitch until 3 pm on the day of departure is really great and generous - without any additional charges. The prices are generally very reasonable. -=-=-=- In terms of the overall rating, I fluctuate between three and four stars, but due to the inadequate waste disposal and the restricted access to the wash house, I think the lower rating is more justified.
