- J D.May 2021Positive tingLocationNegative tingDealing with guests in Corona times.Outrageous behavior in Corona timesFor many years we have booked campsites and several chalets over Whitsun with a large group.
We currently (May 2021) have no chance of a legal visit due to Corona. We have waited until today (18.5.21) to see if it can work out.
ZERO concession from Camping It Soal. How can you treat your guests like this?Automatisk oversatt. - Peter B.October 2020Positive tingSuper kite opportunitiesNegative tingSee commentGreat place, but ...As long-standing regular customers, we had again booked a week with five people and two caravans for October and paid in advance (410 euros).
Due to Corona, Friesland in Holland became a risk area, so we were unable to travel ...
Our request to leave the money there and rebook the vacation for next year... was dismissed with the smug remark: "If the German government were to make Friesland a no-go area, they would be sorry, we are cordially invited ... "
The money is gone!Automatisk oversatt. - Je F.June 2019Positive tingLocation, water sportsNegative tingSanitary building too small and a bit old in high season.Beautiful place - especially for water sports enthusiastsWe have been going to this campsite for many years. We always enjoy it because we do water sports. Our small children also have fun on the beach and in the playgrounds. In my opinion, the sanitary facilities are undersized, especially in the high season (especially when camping is also allowed at the front of the beach). The front sanitary building (towards the restaurant) should be extended.Automatisk oversatt.
- Martina K.May 2019Great place in a beautiful Friesland location. We have enjoyed coming back to Workum for many years. The surroundings are perfect for cycling. The campsite is very nice. The small supermarket has everything you need for your daily needs. The restaurant, with its outdoor terrace by the water, is cozy. We will be back again.Automatisk oversatt.
- Gerhard K.April 2019Positive tingLocated directly on the beachNegative tingOld and not in really good condition. Mosquitoes without endCP directly on the beachThe campsite is right on the beach. Unfortunately, dogs are once again not allowed on the beach. The pitches are very small. The space we were first allocated for our camper van was perhaps sufficient for a VW T5 or so. Anything larger would not fit there. The view of the site is getting on in years... and doesn't look particularly well looked after. When we were here, there was an endless plague of mosquitoes. I have never seen so many. I have no idea whether this is always the case here at this time of year, but when we asked, the response was rather relaxed. Somehow this is not our place. The sanitary facilities are more or less ok.Automatisk oversatt.
- David S.May 2018Positive tingLocation, facilities, cleanliness, catering, leisure facilities, friendliness, serviceNegative tingPricing, lack of sockets in sanitary facilitiesNice clean place with good facilities and catering, a bit expensiveThe site is located directly on the IJsselmeer, separated only by a public green strip. There is a wide range of leisure activities, and kite surfers dominate the site when conditions are favorable. Cleanliness and service are excellent. Many mobile homes and bungalows, but many seem to be permanently... rented. The sanitary facilities meet the requirements without standing out. There are no sockets for razors etc. at the individual washbasins. The pricing is perhaps the only shortcoming. The pitch is already quite expensive, and there are additional costs for showers and waste disposal. The small supermarket is very well stocked and you can get practically everything you need. But if you are prepared to accept the costs, you can have a great time here. Highly recommended!Automatisk oversatt.
- Arne O.August 2017Positive tingdirectly on the IjsselmeerPlace directly on the IjsselmeerThe site is located directly on the Ijsselmeer. Dogs are allowed but not in the water. Prohibited by the municipality! Pitches are large. Some of the sanitary buildings are getting on in years. You have to pay extra for flushing water. The best way to explore the surrounding area is by bike. Workum and the other small towns are really worth seeing. Would love to come back againAutomatisk oversatt.
- Leonhard H.June 2017Positive tingClose to the beach, own harbor, very tasty bread rolls. Beautiful, well-developed cycle routes.Negative tingLots of insects buzzing around you. Very loud until 2:00 a.m. during festivals on the beach. Only conditionally suitable for dogs.Close to the IjsselmeerVery nice location, but about 2km from the village. This is no problem by bike. Good supply and delicious bread rolls from the supermarket on site. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Thanks to the online registration and advance payment, you can drive to your pitch without further registration... thanks to video recognition. The pitches are divided into groups of 4 or 6 (dog area) and are not excessively large. The beach is a 100 to 300 m walk away.Automatisk oversatt.
- Melanie Z.April 2017Positive tingGreat location directly on the Ijsselmeer (several pages)Negative tingEnd of April 2017 already with a gigantic mosquito plague :-(Great systemA huge site by our standards, consisting of a campsite, mobile home/chalet park, 2 harbors, beach, etc. Situated on its own island. Friendly staff, somewhat outdated sanitary blocks, but always clean. Due to its own shallow beach, a hotspot for kiters and surfers, who then also populate the site.Automatisk oversatt.
- Irmgard B.April 2017New guestIn April we spent a week on this site in beautiful weather, everything was very appealing, clean sanitary facilities, green pitches, friendly staff, kiosk, restaurant and close to the water. We would have liked a bus connection to go to Workum, for example, because we are not so mobile with the camper for small places. We will definitely be back in September (with the bikes).Automatisk oversatt.
- Angelika B.June 2016Positive tingBeautiful beach, shade,Negative tingDogs are banned, even on the pitch,No room for dogsWe wanted to spend a nice week on the Isselmeer with our dog, but we left after just one day because it's not nice to be there with a dog. There were lots of prohibition signs and the beach was also off-limits to dogs. The operators should consider not accepting dogs any more, that would be better.Automatisk oversatt.
- Andrea N.October 2015Positive tingQuiet (at least in October), clean, friendly, on a plot (with us with 6 pitches) you are among yourselfNegative tingNo direct water connection at the pitchAlso recommended with a dog in OctoberDogs are allowed on the beach from October to March. The beach is very spacious and slopes gently into the water, making it ideal for a vacation with small children in summer. When it's windy, kitesurfers are allowed here all year round. Be careful with the lines on the beach. There are large meadows... behind the small dunes. Everything is generously laid out here anyway, just like on the C pitch. Very quiet here. There are plenty of parking spaces for cars. The pitches are generously laid out, surrounded by tall trees and bushes. Take a long hose with you for the water supply! Sanitary facilities (in the "dog area") are a bit dated, but offer everything and are clean. Beautiful footpaths, also for dogs. Everything is well maintained, lawns are cut regularly. The store has everything you need. Open daily 8-18h. Fresh self-service bread counter. We'll be going back next October.Automatisk oversatt.
- Hans-Jürgen M.September 2015Positive tingWater sports are written in capital lettersNegative tingfar too few fresh water and waste water pointsAll goodPlace very clean, staff quite friendly, snack recommended, unfortunately the amount for the period of the booking must be paid in advance when registering.Automatisk oversatt.
- Nadine W.September 2015Positive tingSurfing and kitingNegative tingRather unsuitable for a vacation with a dog on the water. Sometimes dangerous due to the equipment used by water sports enthusiasts.Ideal place for kiters and surfersIdeal for kitesurfing and surfing. Rather unsuitable for a "normal" beach vacation, unless you do other things such as cycling. We were with a dog and were only allowed to stay on the pitches designated for dogs. We felt a little discriminated against with a dog, as there were no-dog signs everywhere... on the other large part of the campsite. The campsite should rather decide whether it wants dogs or not. The nearby marina is very nice. We used the sanitary building at the beginning of the campsite. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired, as many people cleaned their surfing equipment here.Automatisk oversatt.
- Helmut A.August 2015Positive tingyou are not allowed to have a dogNegative tingif you have a dog, avoid the area as far as possibleDeparted again despite registrationDespite registering, we left without saying hello. Reason: dog owners are discriminated against. Although we had registered by phone and told them that we had a dog, there was no room for us. They wanted to put us in front of the campsite on the campsite's soccer pitch. It doesn't get any worse than... that. The lady at reception was also very unfriendly. When a colleague said that there were also places available in the campsite, this information was ignored. We then drove on, even though we were registered with two motorhomes. This is incomprehensible to me. Perhaps the site should be closed to dogs straight away and potential guests should not be allowed to arrive and then park on the soccer pitch. We will certainly never go there again and will spread this behavior on the pitch far and wide. Tip to the operator: Even if we are dog owners. We are also human and know how to behave with a dog.Automatisk oversatt.
- Marc W.June 2015Positive ting-Clean place -clean sanitary facilities -good prices -good price-performance ratio - nice locationNegative ting-Too many surfers and kiters besieging the beach - Beach unsuitable for children because too many kiters and surfersAll in all quite goodVery nice, well-kept site. We camped with 5 people. Price performance simply top. No overpriced supermarket, fair prices and a large selection. The beach is beautiful, the water relatively clean. Unfortunately totally overcrowded with kiters and surfers. Dangerous for children playing in the water. The sanitary facilities are tidy and are cleaned 3 times a day. The staff are friendly and courteous.Automatisk oversatt.
- Klaus M.April 2015Positive tingLocation on the Ijsselmeer with beach, well-kept overall appearanceNegative tingBeach already besieged by kiters in the still cold month of AprilWater sports on the IjsselmeerClassic camping site directly on the Ijsselmeer. Typical Dutch standard pitches. Everything well maintained and nicely laid out, sanitary facilities also typical and slightly outdated. Location for excursions in the Ijsselmeer, ideal for surfers, kiters and boat owners, therefore probably unsuitable for bathers in summer as the only beach far and wideAutomatisk oversatt.
- Hannelore S.September 2014Positive tingTop sanitary facilities, ideally suited for kitersNegative tingDog owners are somewhat discriminated againstClean well organized campsiteWe stayed for 3 days with our dog on this clean, well-organized site. Unfortunately, dog owners feel somewhat discriminated against here, as there are only a few places available and you are not allowed to enter the rest of the site - let alone the beach - even with a dog on a leash! You can't even go... on the beach when it's windy and at weekends because it's teeming with kiters. The restaurant on the site is not to be recommended as it is expensive and not very good quality. The sanitary facilities are excellent, but the showers etc. can only be used with a credit card. Unfortunately, you can't set the water temperature yourself.Automatisk oversatt.
- Edgar M.April 2014Ideal for kiters and excursionsWe were there over Easter, but it was still a quiet resort. The beach is great for kiters. From there you can make wonderful trips to the regions on the northern IJsselmeer. Spacious pitches.Automatisk oversatt.
- Peter W.August 2013A dream for surfers and kiters, but also for nostalgics who want to chug through the canals to the old towns of Friesland in a small sloop. The places are beautiful and large. Recommended at any time.Automatisk oversatt.
