- Frank M.October 2020Positive tingThe location directly on the banks of the Rhine, the view of the Rhine and Reichenstein CastleNegative tingThe sanitary facilitiesSimple spaceAs we were on the site in the off-season from October 4-10, we had a pitch right on the banks of the Rhine.
There were only a few pitches occupied. We noticed that two campers only stayed one night because they were not satisfied with the sanitary facilities or the lack of WiFi.
Out of 7 washbasins,... 4 were closed due to defects. Of the 6 toilets available, 3 were blocked.
I wonder how that worked in the high season.
Urgent action is needed here.
Otherwise there were many opportunities to visit the castles on the Rhine, the proximity to Bingen and Rüdesheim or to cycle along the Rhine.
We also loved the ships that were constantly passing by,
You can watch them for hours.Automatisk oversatt. - Rüdiger G.September 2020Positive tingLocation and viewNegative tingSanitaryBeautiful, but ....We were on the pitch in September 2020. Even though the campsite was full, we were accommodated, which is not a matter of course. Thank you once again. The access road is hardly feasible for large caravans (2.50 m and over 8.00 m long). You should have good driving skills. The sanitary facilities and... the washing-up areas are definitely in need of renovation and do not meet modern standards. We don't want a wash temple or anything like that, but something more modern would be nice. There are also washing containers, and if you pay €2.00 more and get better washing and rinsing facilities in return? OK. Otherwise a very simple pitch. W-LAN not available. The traffic (train and road are audible, but not disturbing. Where should the sales go? Otherwise location top. Bike away directly from the square and everything easily accessible. We have not tested the restaurant. Shopping in about 5.00 km.Automatisk oversatt.
- Gisbert R. M.September 2020Positive tingView of the RhineNegative tingLoud, direct location on the Rhine in the valleyA place directly on the RhineThe location of the site is of course very good, directly on the Rhine.
Access for larger caravans and motorhomes is a challenge, not possible from a height of 3.2m!
As there is no parcelling out, tourists are set up according to the "oil sardine principle". It sometimes happens that the neighbor knocks... on the car with his outdoor furniture, his dog makes himself comfortable under someone else's car, etc.
I had more concerns about the sanitary situation in terms of viruses and bacteria than about corona.Automatisk oversatt. - Patrick K.September 2020Positive ting- Location - Very nice and friendly briefing - Price (flat rate 20€ WoWa + 2 adults)Negative tingToo full in September and the showers are getting on in years. The train line is very busy.Great campsite to explore the areaThe location of the campsite is very nice, right on the Rhine. With a bit of luck, you can get a pitch in the first Rhine location. However, you do have to get up close and personal with your neighbor. When we were there in mid-September, the camper vans and caravans were packed together. Unfortunately,... we had no luck and had to move to the neighboring tent meadow. Electricity was only provisionally provided here, which meant that we were without power at one point. The tent meadow filled up more and more over the course of the weekend. A really relaxing and restful place looks different.
But as we came without booking in advance and only stayed for one weekend anyway, that wasn't a problem.
The showers, on the other hand, dear owners are really in need of renovation. Very dated and it wasn't really clean either. For the showers you need 1€ coins, but the machine is a bit picky.Automatisk oversatt. - Annette U.August 2020Positive tingBeautiful location Very friendly Very good value for money Flexibility with the pitchesNegative tingSanitary could be a bit more modern No reservations possibleGreat location, nice operatorThe location is really nice. If you have a place in the front row, you can watch the ships in complete relaxation. On the first night we were still in the second row, but were allowed to change as soon as something became free at the front. The boss himself gave us a very warm welcome and showed us the... ropes. The price-performance ratio is excellent - €20 for everything - 8.30m Wowa, two adults, two dogs free of charge, and that in high season. The food in the restaurant was good and also available to take away, the staff were very friendly. You can take the dogs for a great walk along the Rhine. Just getting there was a challenge with our long horse and cart. You just have to hope that there is no oncoming traffic and that you can make a good turn when exiting an underpass.Automatisk oversatt.
- Dany G.January 2020Positive tingEverything, the peace and quiet, the nice campers, clean toilet facilities, clean showers, great surroundings and the Rhine. The castle above the campsite, shopping facilities approx. 10 kilometers. Nice operator!Negative tingThat the economy was closed.CampsiteClean, nice and helpful operator, nice and friendly campers. Beautiful location on the Rhine. Children and animal friendly...Automatisk oversatt.
- Petra W.November 2018Positive tingAbsolutely nothing to complain about for the price!Negative tingThe sanitary facilities should be renovated...You can still have a front row seat here!We were on the site in the off-season over All Saints' Day. It's pretty much the only site directly on the Rhine that's still open at this time of year. This one is even open all year round. The location at the foot of Reichenstein Castle is really beautiful. For the price of 18 euros, we were able to... choose a pitch of our choice and the tourist pitches are all located directly on the banks of the Rhine. This is really second to none and deserves a special mention here. The groundsman and his wife gave us a friendly welcome and the host of the campsite restaurant was also very friendly and cooked very tasty food. What is not so nice here are the sanitary facilities. These are very outdated and partly not functional. There is a great need for renovation here. But it was clean and that's the main thing. Unfortunately, the advertised bread roll service is no longer available. This is probably not worthwhile in the low season as the bakery is so far away. We went on lovely walks to the castles. You can also take a nice walk along the Rhine. There is always something to see. The train passes directly behind the campsite and also on the opposite side every minute... So it's not exactly quiet. But that's actually the case everywhere on the Rhine. The location of the campsite and the pitches right on the bank score points here!Automatisk oversatt.
- Arne-Kolja B.August 2018Positive tingBeautiful and very practical locationNegative tingClose to the road, but this did not disturb our sleepWonderfully situated at the foot of a castleWe visited this campsite as a stopover for one night on a cycle tour along the Rhine. The booking was very spontaneous and we were very impressed by the location, right between a beautiful castle and the waters of the Rhine. The staff were very friendly and the crowd was quite international. The sanitary... facilities cost extra, but are otherwise perfectly fine for the price. In my opinion, the cleanliness was kept to a high standard, but all in all it was "normal". We thought it was very good that the restaurant had a bit more to offer than just currywurst and chips. It also tasted wonderful. Many thanks for that! This campsite is primarily suitable for those passing through, which makes sense given the location. Touring cyclists get exactly what they need, but caravan owners also get their money's worth when passing through. If we ever travel along the Rhine again, we'll definitely book it.Automatisk oversatt.
- Norbert K.September 2015Positive tingPitches directly on the Rhine, brilliant view, friendly staff, fair pricingNegative tingthe "abteneuerliche" access road, sanitary facilities are already very oldCamping at the foot of the castleGreat, small campsite with a prime location directly on the Rhine and a view of 2 castles :-) The pitches are not parceled out; when it's busy, you're all over the place. The price-performance ratio is top!Automatisk oversatt.
- Wolfgang G.June 2015Positive tingGreat setting directly on the Rhine.Negative tingSingle-track access road. Noisy railroad line on both sides of the Rhine. Old sanitary facilities.Campsite directly on the RhineThe access road leads through the village and in one lane through a leafy colony which is also used as a cycle path. After a heavy rainfall, drooping bushes blocked the access road. The pitches for transit campers directly on the Rhine are great. The permanent campers are in the back rows. The sanitary... facilities are old, low and narrow and therefore not inviting. Shower tokens are required for showering. Apart from the spider webs on the ceiling and the dried flies on the window sills, the cleanliness was still acceptable. We only found supermarkets in Bingen, 5 km away. Bread rolls, however, could be ordered from the inn belonging to the campsite, according to the sign. I paid €18/night for 2 people in June, including electricity charged at a flat rate.Automatisk oversatt.
- A. H.August 2014Great placeGreat place, nice owners, the employees are very friendly, the facility and the sanitary facilities are clean, there is also a bread service, which is great, the place is right on the Rhine, there is always a lot to see, it never gets boring, go there more often.Automatisk oversatt.
- Susanne H.August 2014Positive tingEVERYTHING AVAILABLE: sanitary facilities, catering, 1st row on the water (Rhine), supply and disposal, electricity,Negative tingOpposite lane a little noisyONE-WALL-FREE space directly on the Rhine in the 1st row incl. gastronomyWe can not share negative reviews here at all, as we have had NO negative experience. Very nice - located DIRECTLY ON THE RHEIN (2 meters to the banks of the Rhine). Only the permanent camper pitches are in the 2nd row. SHORT STAYERS are in the FIRST ROW. WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT !!!! ???? Very NICE... and also extremely HELPFUL STAFF - THANK YOU !!!!! What more could you want !!!! ??? We also found the busy boat traffic positive - there is ALWAYS something to look at! Somewhat disadvantageous (and that was the only disadvantage we found), the constant trains on the opposite side and their background noise. However, this becomes less ..... at night and doesn't necessarily bother everyone. For normal-sized motorhomes (ours is 6.5 m long and 3.00 m high), the site is perfectly accessible. For oversized XXL liners, of course (like VIELERORTS) this is probably a problem. You get your breakfast rolls every morning - by pre-ordering ..... what more could you want !!!? ??? A restaurant on the pitch with indoor and outdoor catering also caters for you from morning until late in the evening. Supply and disposal, as well as electricity are flawless. Sanitary facilities are also in order. And anglers can cast their line directly into the Rhine. Dogs are also WELCOME here !!!! ALL-ROUND AND CONCLUSION: WE HAD NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT !!!! And we've been there twice now !!!! Greetings from KaiserslauternAutomatisk oversatt.
- Michelle v.August 2014Positive tingLocation and cycle pathsbeautiful campsite grade 1 plusBeautiful campsite, clean friendly staff can really be recommended!!!! If I look at the negative reviews it can only be a mistake.will definitely go back.Automatisk oversatt.
- Roman K.July 2014For young and old...Very beautifully located campsite directly on the Father Rhine..in the middle of the Rheingau vineyards Whether young or old or as a tent group, everyone will find their ideal and spacious place here and with the fresh bread service every morning we never had any worries..😊😊😊😊Automatisk oversatt.
- Tamara s.June 2014Positive tingDirect location on the Rhine, bootsslip, friendly and helpful the guest is king.Very nice campsiteI was on my annual vacation on this beautiful campsite, actually only wanted to stay one night and then spent 2 weeks there. I don't agree with some of the reviews about the sanitary facilities. They are a bit older but clean!!!! You have a free choice of pitches here at a price of 18 euros for 2 people,... no pitches. Operator super friendly and very helpful. You can go hiking, cycling, even kayaking or even a small sports boat would be no problem at all, as this place has a boat slide. You can also take a nice boat trip here, the landing stage is very close by. Highly recommended!!!!!Automatisk oversatt.
- andrea b.June 2014Positive tingDirect location on the Rhine, friendly operatorsNegative tingAccess to the campsitesuper campsite absolutely uncomplicated handlingVery nice campsite right on the Rhine, the registration process was super friendly and uncomplicated.Automatisk oversatt.
- Andreas T.May 2014Positive tingSuper location in the Rhine Valley, very friendly operators, dog-friendly, reasonably pricedNegative tingSanitary facilities well,Very good for price-conscious campersWe were here with our camper and dog for a short vacation. Direct riverside location with a varied view (if you like ships and boats). We were able to cool off in the Rhine at over 30°C. Not suitable for swimming due to strong currents. Very friendly staff. Gastronomy quite informal. Not a gourmet temple, but down-to-earth and reasonably priced. We will gladly return.Automatisk oversatt.
- Bert R.August 2013As a marginal hiker, you look forward to a shower in the evening. Unfortunately, the joy quickly evaporated due to the catastrophic condition of the sanitary facilities: very dirty, the carved slogans on the walls were partly from the 80s (not renovated for a long time!), there was a lack of paper everywhere (toilet, washbasin), no more aerators on the barely functioning taps (shirt and trousers splashed wet). Unfortunately only grade 5-6!!!Automatisk oversatt.
- Karl-Heinz A.July 2013Very beautifully situated campsite in scenic surroundings. The reception is friendly, the access road is very narrow, no one is allowed to approach, otherwise it will be difficult, the sanitary facilities are a bit outdated. But it is clean and quite adequate and there is a restaurant. The service is friendly. The food is inexpensive and tasty. The place is suitable as a starting point for bike tours and hikes. We feel very comfortable there.Automatisk oversatt.
- Dörte L.September 2012Very beautifully situated CP directly on the Rhine. Access is through narrow streets, but can be mastered. Pitches for tourists with a camper van or motorhome are right on the banks of the Rhine. Fresh bread rolls are available to order in the morning, and there is a restaurant with a small menu and... very friendly service. The sanitary facilities are not the newest, but perfectly okay for a short break. Showers cost €1, but that's enough for a long shower! We paid €18 per night for 2 adults, our child (already 13 years old) didn't have to pay anything. From Trechtingshausen there are countless great excursion destinations, a cycle path leads directly along the campsite, boat trips on the Rhine e.g. from Bingen, Oberwesel ... The only disadvantage is the railroad line on both sides of the Rhine, which is also busy at night. Nevertheless, we slept well :))Automatisk oversatt.
