- Rüdiger S.august 2021Positive tingLocation Friendliness of the staffNegative tingRailroad line within earshotNice place, too good for just one nightA beautifully situated site directly on cycle and hiking trails. The pitches for caravans/motorhomes are parceled out, and there are also large areas for tent campers (hikers/cyclists). The site is ideal for overnight stays in a southerly direction.
The adjacent swimming pool can be used free of charge.
Only the railroad line within earshot can be perceived as disturbing by some.Automatisk oversatt. - Ludwig K.september 2019Positive tingProximity to the Voie VerteNegative tingSloping pitches, TGV route within earshotIt has gotten betterI can agree with the previous comments. There is a new sanitary building. That's good. Toilets with glasses and toilet paper!Automatisk oversatt.
- Michael H.august 2018Positive tingconvenient location, extremely cheapNegative tingToilets do not have glassesBeautiful campsite right next to ClunyThe campsite is only a few minutes' walk from Cluny. There is a good Italian restaurant nearby where you can sit in the garden. The staff at reception are very friendly and also speak English if you don't speak enough French. The pitches are very large and shady thanks to the trees. We stayed on one... pitch with two caravans and paid €150 for seven days (2 people). There is a very nice cycle path behind the campsite, but also the TGV route. You can hear the train noise several times an hour during the day, but you can get used to it. Although there are only four men's toilets, there are no bottlenecks. The only disadvantage is that the toilets do not have glasses. The showers are spacious and clean.Automatisk oversatt.
- Marcus S.juni 2018Positive tingProximity to the city / outdoor pool / park-like groundsNegative tingSanitary in need of renovation / TGV railroad lineRelaxation and cultureA lot has already been written here. I would like to agree positively with this. Only the sanitary area leaves something to be desired. The men's shower was very musty. This could be renovated. Great: free entry to the outdoor pool! Cluny is definitely worth a visit!Automatisk oversatt.
- I. M.september 2017Positive tingLarge pitches Beautiful grounds Close to townNegative tingnoneBeautiful place near historic cityQuiet, the train does not disturb at all and does not run at night. Large parking spaces in a park-like area. In 10 minutes you are in the middle of the city. We really like this town. The sanitary facilities are a bit older but very clean (only the missing toilet seat bothered me a bit). The showers... are great, as is the washing-up area (I've never experienced such hot water). In the low season you have a free choice of pitches. The reception was very friendly. The swimming pool was unfortunately already closed, it was probably too cool in September this year, we wouldn't have needed it anyway with the temperatures. We will definitely be back.Automatisk oversatt.
- Alfred P.august 2015Positive tingfree use of the swimming pool.Negative tingTrain noise.nice place for a stopoverBeautifully situated site by the swimming pool, which is free to use for camping guests. The site is a little older but clean. Right next to the campsite is an old railroad line that has been converted into a cycle path. Cyclists and horse lovers will feel at home in Cluny. The frequent passing trains on the nearby railroad line are annoying.Automatisk oversatt.
- Johanna S.september 2014Positive tingIdeally located for visiting Cluny Abbey, also on foot, a footpath leads from the CP to the town. The abbey is approx. 1.2 km away.Negative tingLocated directly on a railroad line, the constant train traffic during the day can be disturbing. Obviously the TGV rushes past here.Nice place, good location for visiting Cluny on footWe were on the site in September when the weather was good and it was accordingly busy. There are two sanitary blocks, but one was closed due to the late season. The sanitary facilities are simple, but there is hot water everywhere without water stops, which I always find pleasant. The lower sanitary... area can be reached via stairs, for those with walking difficulties there is a small detour via the driveway. The pitches themselves are grass pitches with a water point and electrical connections. Nicely planted with trees, but not overgrown. The municipal outdoor pool is right next to the campsite, but it was closed in September. WIFI was available around the reception, we didn't use it so I don't know if it costs anything. There is no restaurant, but the walk into town is short. I found it practical that you can still get through the barrier with a code, even if reception is closed during the lunch break. You simply register later, good service! I can recommend the campsite and we will certainly land there again. It should be mentioned, however, that the train traffic can be a nuisance as the campsite is right next to a railroad line. I didn't notice anything at night, which could have several reasons ... Earplugs, red wine - or the TGV doesn't run :-)Automatisk oversatt.
- Gregor B.juni 2014ClunyBeautifully situated campsite on the outskirts of the village (10-15 min walk to the center) with shady pitches. Very good sanitary facilities (with paper!), otherwise no extras. Price per night: EUR 6.90 for one person with tent and bicycle.Automatisk oversatt.
- Bo S.august 2012As described by Mr. Kretschmann. However, the sanitary facilities should be renovated. They are clean, but also very old (standing toilets!!) Pitches are huge and mostly shady. Nice little outdoor pool next to it, which can be used free of charge. Was surprisingly cheap in the main season. Pitch with 4 people & dog only 25€. I also didn't notice the train at night. It was very quiet.Automatisk oversatt.
- Werner K.juli 2010Cluny, a small medieval town in Burgundy, known - or rather: formerly famous - for its large Benedictine abbey, the remains of which can still be visited today. The St. Vital campsite is located on the edge of Cluny and makes use of the symbiosis of a sports and event hall and an outdoor pool. The pitches... are large and slightly sloping, there are two sanitary buildings and a small log cabin as a supply station for pre-ordered baguettes, croissants and various snacks. Entry to the outdoor pool is free for campers; you can collect coins from reception. The idyllic village with its restaurants, stores and sights is easy to reach on foot or by bike from the campsite. For further cycling tours, there are wonderful cycle paths away from the roads. For us, the proximity to Taizé, the ecumenical meeting place of Brother Roger, was crucial and the atmosphere is simply worth experiencing. We stayed here for a few days during the NRW summer vacations in 2010 without booking in advance and had plenty of pitches to choose from. English, German, French and Dutch guests, a mixture of old and young. It was quiet, even though a TGV train line runs behind the site, which didn't bother us too much.Automatisk oversatt.
