- Roswitha R.June 2023Positive tingPublic transport to BilbaoNegative tingoverpriced, unkempt placeAlmost not suitable for caravansLocated on a slope with small pitches, almost unsuitable for caravans. We had rain and all areas were muddy, the caravans had to stay on the side roads. Water is only available at the wash house, so sometimes longer distances. The sanitary building was newer, but with 5, or if the second part was open,... with 10 women's toilets simply too few for the number of visitors and reasonably clean. Incidentally, the store sells Lidl products for a lot of money! We paid €42.75 per day for 2 people with our caravan, which is totally overpriced.
Not mentioned on the Internet is the lunch time from 14.00 to 16.00, the reception is then closed, please note on arrival. Obviously the radio signal was disturbed because our mover (Truma xt) did not work there. However, it is very easy to get to Bilbao from the town by public transport, the train station is a 15-20 minute walk away.Automatisk oversatt. - Klaus A.May 2022Positive tingQuiet location, great starting point for Bilbao.Negative tingSome of the pitches are difficult to accessIt is worth itSopleana is not located in Andalusia, but is a municipality in the province of Bizkaia (Basque Country) near Bilbao. The site has a somewhat peculiar charm, just like the owner. Many pitches are difficult to access, everything is very narrow. The sanitary complex is new, really great and very clean....
The site is an excellent base for Bilbao. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the metro, then you can go straight into the center. The subway station is about 5 to 10 minutes away from the Guggenheim Museum.
We also recommend the sandy beach or a visit to the suspension bridge at Areeta.Automatisk oversatt. - Raphaela H.October 2019Positive ting-Beach is within walking distanceNegative ting-dirty accommodation but still expensive -unfriendly and aggressive groundskeeperWith your own motorhome ok, otherwise not recommendedOn the positive side, the toilet facilities are new and still well maintained. Unfortunately, this is the only positive thing we took away from our visit. The groundsman is extremely unfriendly (sent an elderly British couple away because they had parked "incorrectly" in front of the entrance) and was... aggressive when we pointed out the shortcomings of the lowest category bungalow, which nevertheless cost 70 euros. He quickly became insulting and didn't listen. Therefore a big minus point for friendliness. Disrespectful towards customers and negative comments towards Europeans in general. Bungalow was dirty, hair, sand and dust on the floor, musty smell, spiders and their webs everywhere.Automatisk oversatt.
- Josephina H.October 2018Positive tingNear the seaGood price/performance ratioWe were here at the beginning of October 2018 with 3 children (9, 11 and 13) and 2 dogs with an almost 7m long caravan. Yes, we had to stand at an angle, but we had a pitch with a sea view in the bottom row. The hedges around each pitch are trimmed and ensure peace and quiet. The pitch was about a third... full and we didn't have any noise around us. We paid just under 70 Eur for 2 nights and thought it was good value. Sea within walking distance, town very close by car. The only downside is the failing hot water, but this will be renovated next month and will be better on our next visit. Staff friendly and helpful. We would love to come backAutomatisk oversatt.
- Karin B.June 2018Positive tingNear metro to BilbaoNegative tingDesolate condition and expensiveDesolate conditionSanitary facilities very dirty and in desolate condition. Entire campsite unkempt and carelessly kept. Very expensive (34 euros in low season!!). Not recommended!Automatisk oversatt.
- Michael W.August 2017Positive tingClose to Bilbao, where there is only one (recommended) WOMO parking space.Negative tingPrice Pitches small Sanitary facilities Infrastructure on the pitchMiserable!Completely overpriced, pitches tiny, sanitary facilities completely outdated, the so-called supermarket has virtually nothing on offer, but what little there is is overpriced and old. Absolutely not recommended! Never again!Automatisk oversatt.
- Cobi O.September 2016Positive tingClose to bilbaoNegative tingTotal no customer friendliness,in my opinion you are anywayExpensive, dirty campingWere here in September 2016,2 people and caravan,I do understand why no one puts this campground in a book, soggy place, cold dishwater, cold showers, store closed,so no bread,we should have asked then when we asked what the service meant for 37.50 per nightAutomatisk oversatt.
- monka r.September 2014Positive tingConnection to Bilbao, (29 min by train) but 2.5 km from Bilbao is a better, cheaper Womostlellplatz.Negative tingexpensive, dirty, run-down, noisy, crampedrather not go thereIf you're not mad about your money, it's better not to go there. We were there with the Womo, 5.95 m long. It is totally cramped, super loud and the sanitary, washing and dishwashing facilities are partly defective, everything is crumbling apart and many things are broken, and also very unkempt. The whole thing for a measly €35.50 is cheeky.Automatisk oversatt.
- Carmine !.August 2014Highs and lowsWe stayed at this campsite in early August 2014. The place is not bad; the campground is located on the coast of a hill close to the sea, so it is all terraced. The pitches are clean, quite large and bordered by flower beds, but often, due to overcrowding, they allow two clients to be stationed on the... same pitch. I recommend making reservations, because it is not easy to find a spot right away: the place is mostly frequented by young people, surfers, school groups, and families with children. Nevertheless, apart from the public areas, the rest of the campsite is always quiet and peaceful. The bathrooms are dirty, hot water is free but does not always come to your tap. The laundromat for us was a disaster, because there was a problem with the meters and the electricity was constantly going off: more than two hours to complete a wash and running up and down the recepition to warn the staff to get the meter reattached... Free Wi-fi, only bar area, but very slow connection! Sopelana beach is very nice: from the campsite there is a path you can walk to it in 10-15 minutes. Good location for visiting Bilbao and the coast.Automatisk oversatt.
- ARMAGNAT M.August 2014excessive ratesa well-located campsite close to the ocean and Bilbao. Excessive rates, especially when you see the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities, which really leave something to be desired! What a shame!Automatisk oversatt.
