- Pa N.October 2024Positive tingPossibly the proximity to the RhineNegative tingRude, arrogant, impertinent owners Wowa's and WoMo's were wildly positioned Rhine current incredibly dangerous for children - there are no extra warning signs on the beachRude and chaoticThe badly feigned politeness of the campsite owner is short-lived.
It was only a short visit ... after 20 minutes the daily rate was already due - despite the indication that it would be a short visit ... next came the indication that the wrong entrance was used: an open double gate that was even named... on their own website as a better way ... all in all, one cannot understand the high ratings.
The attempt at a normal conversation was unfortunately also not crowned with success - here too, obvious arrogance and arrogance.
The receipt for the daily fee had to be requested separately - a rogue who thinks evil!
Conclusion: drive as far around as possible - there are much better and friendlier ways to spend your time on the RhineAutomatisk oversatt. - Heinz und Birgit R.August 2023Positive tingSuper place, nice owner, dog friendly, sanitary super clean.5 stars from us.Negative tingNoneHeinz and Birgit RumensVery nice place directly on the father Rhine, sanitary super clean, fishing, boat tours super, very nice owner, everything is fineAutomatisk oversatt.
- Anja B.July 2023Positive tingVery friendly operator Lovingly furnished shower container Beautiful pitchesNegative tingNo bread roll service No W LAN Shower and toilet containers not barrier-freeBeautiful campsite directly on the RhineWe made a request at short notice and the owner made it possible for us to arrive, despite the place being full.
Registration was quick and uncomplicated.
The campsite is right on the Rhine with a sandy beach. Very nice.
Unfortunately there is no bread service on the site. The nearest bakery can be reached... by bike in 5 minutes.
W LAN is also not available.
The toilets and showers are located in containers and can only be reached via a staircase.
The ladies' showers in particular are very lovingly furnished and were always clean. Shower coins are required for showering.
Small dishes such as pizza and tarte flambée are offered on site (very tasty).
We liked it very much and will definitely be back.Automatisk oversatt. - Manuela M.August 2021Positive tingBeautiful place directly on the Rhine We've enjoyed coming here for several years, and we've currently been here for 3 weeks. For me, it's one of the most beautiful places. I can set up my camping chair directly in the sand on the Rhine and look out over the Rhine. I like to look at the passing ships and when I close my eyes and listen to the waves that the passing ships leave behind, it reminds me of the sea. In the evening I like to sit there for a long time and watch the most beautiful sunsets with a glass of wine, super romantic 😉. I can really switch off here. The campsite is very dog-friendly, which is very important to us. There are also free-range friendly chickens that lay super tasty eggs, it couldn't be fresher. The staff are very friendly and I feel very well looked after. The sanitary facilities are very clean and lovingly designed. Not far from the campsite there are various shopping facilities and a very good Italian pizzeria. There are also various other restaurants such as Thai and Greek, all of which are also highly recommended Conclusion absolutely recommended 👍 I'm already looking forward to next yearNegative tingI really can't think of any worth mentioning 🤷♀️A highlight for me every time, my feel-good placeI can well imagine taking a permanent place in time and spending my vacations there.Automatisk oversatt.
- Claudia B.May 2021Positive tingDirectly on the Rhine, nice place, quietNegative tingI haven't found any. Although, perhaps the price for the shower tokens is a bit too high.Beautiful placeAfter some of the bad reviews here, I went to the course with a stomach ache...
But lo and behold, it was completely unfounded. We were given such a warm welcome that my worries subsided somewhat. The lady (I wanted to find out her name) at reception is really nice and helps wherever she can.
The seats... are not separated as I was used to until now. This was completely new to me, but we had a very nice pitch, even with a view of the Rhine.
The toilets and showers are in containers, but they're beautifully arranged and don't get in the way at all. The cleaning lady does a great job, but unfortunately, like everywhere else, there are children who are not well-behaved and leave a mess behind, just like adults who don't know how to use a toilet brush. There are only two showers each for ladies and gentlemen, but I had no problems even though the place was full. The shower lasts 4 minutes and costs €1.20, a bit expensive but okay. It is pleasantly quiet on the pitch, at night you can hear the boats. I didn't hear anything ;-)
I can only recommend coming here, it's beautiful.
Oh, you can also buy little things like ice cream or beer at the reception. Edeka and Lidl can be reached by bike, very close.Automatisk oversatt.Besvart fra Camping Strandterrasse June 2, 2021Dear Claudia, thank you very much for your excellent review, which we were very pleased to receive. We very much hope to welcome you back to our campsite soon.
Your team from Camping-Strandterrasse.Automatisk oversatt. - Nicole H.April 2021Positive tingSmall and personal, simple but clean sanitary facilities, friendly and always helpful operators, centrally located between Neuss, Düsseldorf and Cologne, directly on the Rhine, in the middle of the green Rhine meadows, very quietNegative tingShower tent is too short for the amountVery nice, simple and familiar campsite directly on the RhineA very quiet family campsite located directly on the Rhine. There are wonderful sandy beaches, friendly and always helpful operators. The central location between Düsseldorf, Neuss and Cologne makes excursions possible. Zins is in the immediate vicinity. Supermarkets in the village are easy to reach... by bike.
The sanitary facilities are in trailers, but this is necessary due to the risk of flooding. However, they are lovingly furnished and clean.
The only drawback is that the 4-minute shower time per token is unfortunately not enough, as it takes a while for the water to heat up.
There were no other negative points for us.Automatisk oversatt. - Heinz S.September 2020Positive tingEverything top.Negative tingThere are none.Great campsite.Super campsite, right on the Rhine, great sandy beach. - Annette D.August 2019Positive tingSandy beachUnconventional, beautiful placeVery friendly welcome, nice, ice-cold beer, great pitch and very nice sanitary facilities - I'd love to come back!Automatisk oversatt.
- Miriam L.May 2019Positive tingSuper pitch right on the sandy beach. Very atmospheric.Negative tingNot many places to stop for refreshments in the immediate vicinity.RomanticIt was a wonderful short vacation. Relaxed, unconventional and worth repeating. The sanitary facilities are small, but lovingly furnished and well maintained. The team was friendly and helpful. It's not a luxury campsite, but we had a romantic getaway where everything was just right. The place is within... walking distance, where there is a great butcher (be careful! The opening hours are limited). Relaxed with dogs, but it was not possible to let them run free by the water. Lots of dogs.Automatisk oversatt.
- Ottmar E.May 2019Positive tingFor us a short journey of about 60km.Negative tingPrice performance too highAlways happy to return!!!We got to know the campsite through a friend, it was our first vacation at this campsite. We were there from 17.05 to 24.5 2019. Our impression: Nice staff friendly operators. Clean sanitary facilities General condition of the CP also clean. We got to know nice permanent campers and neighbors. Minus:... Price performance a bit expensive, and for showers 1.20 € too expensive, and unfortunately you don't have the opportunity to wash your hair briefly you have to invest a shower token again. But we Ottmar and Angela would love to come back.Automatisk oversatt.
- Angela D.August 2018Positive tingNature, water sports, cyclingNegative tingA few more places could be set up for washing dishes.Natural, informal campingI absolutely don't understand some of the reviews here. They are more evidence of a lack of travel preparation and the resulting disappointment. For example, the Rhine = a busy river = swimming (especially without adults) is absolute nonsense. The campsite is located on the edge of a nature reserve and... is not parceled out. Due to the flooding of the Rhine, the lovingly decorated and always clean sanitary buildings are housed in converted construction trailers, which can be quickly removed if necessary. The stairs are perhaps a little difficult for people with walking difficulties. Can't be helped. If you want comfort and glamping, you should look for something else. We enjoy the location and the proximity to nature. Bike tours, boat, jet skiing, canoeing - everything can be done without much effort. Excursions e.g. to Zons, Knechtsteden Monastery or Tannenbusch Zoo are definitely worthwhile. Shopping facilities: everything within walking distance. On the friendliness of the operators: as you call into the forest, so it sounds out. We come often and with pleasure.Automatisk oversatt.
- Nadine 1.July 2018Super dangerous!Campsites should be obliged to put up warning signs. We were not informed of the current of the Rhine either personally or by signs on arrival. We are not familiar with the area and the location of the campsite (directly on the Rhine, sandy beach) is ideal for swimming. Result: Despite the ban on going... beyond the calm area, my niece was also caught by the current in the bay. Fortunately, nothing worse happened. However, in my opinion, this campsite is anything but recommendable.Automatisk oversatt.
- Ronnie B.May 2018Positive tingLocation on the Rhine Clean sanitary facilitiesNegative tingStaff unfriendly Very expensive price/performance (electricity, showers)Only the location is convincingThe only positive thing worth mentioning is the location directly on the Rhine. Very unstructured site, sanitary facilities clean but cold and far too few for the number of campers. Staff consistently unfriendly, cleaning lady on the run, janitor grumbles about full containers and not a polite word at reception either.Automatisk oversatt.
- Petra O.May 2018Positive tingI can't think of anything.Negative tingNoisy - unfriendly CP operator - shower tokens outrageously expensive - unattractive surroundings - untidy CP - unpleasant atmosphereDisappointing and annoyingI was there with my tent for a long weekend. The first thing I noticed was the chaotic arrangement of the caravans and mobile homes, everything was criss-crossed. It really isn't a nice place. Only a few permanent campers benefit from the proximity of the Rhine, because you couldn't see it in the 3rd... row (where I was). Only the day and night traffic of the ships was an annoying noise nuisance. But the most unpleasant thing was the atmosphere on this square. I have never experienced anything like it in over 30 years of camping. As a guest, you seemed to be a nuisance to the campsite operator. I was treated with snotty words. Example: I wanted to buy 2 shower tokens (by the way, at €1.20 for 4 minutes in a**** cold construction trailer, this was a real outrage). But now she only had ONE left and commented: "I think THEY'll eat it." - Well, I was ONE of THEM who wanted to take a shower. I guess she thought that was cheeky. If this place couldn't advertise with Father Rhine and had a cycle path nearby, but had to rely on word of mouth, I'm sure it wouldn't exist anymore. I don't think there are many repeat offenders. I for one will definitely never be seen there again. The sanitary facilities are in converted construction trailers. They've been spruced up with lots of chi-chi, with flowers, pictures etc., but are terribly cold and draughty. However, it was clean at all times - a big compliment goes to the cleaning lady. And if nobody on the pitch had diarrhea, even the toilet paper was enough. Otherwise you were unlucky, there was nothing. Not a single spare roll. (Perhaps the campsite operator is afraid that THEY eat paper too.) I was unable to leave the campsite on time due to a storm on the day of departure and had to leave my (very small 1-person) tent until 3.00 pm. I informed the campsite operator, who had just earned €500 from our group. Nevertheless, she said she had to charge half a day's pitch and person fee, i.e. another €5.50. In response to my objection that I wasn't even there (I had to borrow a car for the return trip and come back again, so I only occupied the parking space). She replied that she couldn't check whether I was there or not. I would have to pay half the passenger fee in any case. Incidentally, I was lucky that I could leave the tent there at all. Incidentally, the tent field was empty, it was during a storm and you wouldn't necessarily expect a huge rush of campers on a Tuesday. I still can't believe that I had to pay a single euro extra. So my recommendation: take a wide detour.Automatisk oversatt.
- Saskia S.April 2018Positive ting-beautiful location directly on the Rhine with sandy baysNegative ting-only two showers per gender and expensive and short shower time supermarket 20min walk -Quite noisy boat trafficNice location but nothing moreShowers very short and expensive. (1,20€ for 4 min) sporty with children and long hair. Only 2 showers for the whole site sanitary otherwise clean. Only ran out of toilet paper once around noon. Quite loud due to the ships and also the other surrounding traffic esp. airplanes can be heard. Playground... nice but children should not be left unattended as close to the Rhine. Unfortunately no campfire possible contrary to the HP. Quite a long walk to the nearest supermarket. (about 20 min) Partly unfriendly staff. will not come againAutomatisk oversatt.
- Heinz S.April 2018Positive tingnoneNegative tingallIn a nutshell: Never again !!!The most annoying thing first: I can't understand how a place can exist at all under such unfriendly, snotty management. There are probably still enough people who, as customers, are happy to submit to the ruler at reception. To be so hostile to a group of campers who have spent over €500 on pitch rental... alone over a long weekend is really something. We booked a good 2 weeks in advance. On arrival, the tent pitch was still a wilderness with 50 cm deep holes in the ground, which guests had to fill themselves so that they didn't break their necks in the dark, WITHOUT receiving a thank you for doing so. You should have taken the chance of an accident !!! The tent meadow was only mowed when the first tents were already up. And rather haphazardly at that. It went on with cheeky snotty answers during the stay, if you had something to ask about campfires, toilet paper, shower tokens, etc., so that at some point you didn't feel like meeting this woman operator at all.Automatisk oversatt.
- Miriam W.April 2018Positive tingA good cleaning ladyNegative tingUnfriendly operator, poor location, no service, poor infrastructure.Worst campsite everWe were there at the weekend, booked weeks in advance. A large announced group of campers. 6 people, 2x 4 people etc. Arrival day. Location. Small town on the outskirts of Neuss and Cologne. In the middle of the industrial area on the Rhine. The small place is manageable. The most important things like... Edeka are available. Registration. The operator has hair on her teeth and was so unfriendly, I don't understand how the place survives. The majority are WoWa. DAUERCAMPER . No structure. Everyone stands as they want. No arrangement, no nothing. Unattractive picture. The reception is inviting. The attempt to upgrade the whole thing with decoration and flowers is successful. Toilets. Due to flood danger in a construction trailer. Clean. The cleaning lady knows her trade. One toilet roll per day. On Monday at noon all toilet rolls were empty. Nothing was refilled despite a request. Shower container. Nice decoration but still an imposition. No possibility to wash at a sink in a separate room. It was only possible to shower for 4 minutes for 1.20 euros. Totally exorbitant. The showers had a modern rainfall shower. And a hand shower. You could choose between a rain shower or a hand shower. But it took a while until there was hot water. That means for 1.20 euros it had to be quick. The purest rip-off! When you had finished showering, cold water dripped out of the rainfall head onto you. So you always had to get out of the shower quickly. Very unpleasant. A place just for washing dishes. A rabbit hutch. A playground that was ok for children. The possibility of a campfire is not tolerated. Not even on the Rhine, although this is a permit from the shipping office. It was also good that the meadow was first mowed on arrival and when the tents were set up. Although it could have been done in advance. Zero service and amenities. All in all... a grotty place. Unbelievably unfriendly operator who has earned a lot of money from a group of campers and has no manners. No catering on the pitch, no offers etc. All in all ... Just don't go there . Not even for just one night on a bike. This place is only for caravan owners who have not been to nice places.Automatisk oversatt.
- Lelu 2.August 2017Positive tingNoneNegative tingEverythingI have never encountered anything so unfriendlyI really can't find the words and can't understand how such unfriendly operators or employees can keep a campsite alive. Unfortunately, you fall for such people and spoil your well-deserved vacation. Never again......Automatisk oversatt.
