- Erich O.July 2024Positive tingYou can get to Cologne city center quickly thanks to the good public transport. Very good WLAN.Negative tingPrice/performance too high. The WLAN had to be paid for. Reduced swimming pool entrance feeGreat proximity to Cologne, but otherwise nothing specialWe chose this campsite for a few days because of its proximity to Cologne. It was still possible to reserve a pitch 2 days before arrival.
We were initially offered a pitch near the parking lot. As we suspected that this would be very busy due to the adjacent restaurant and swimming pool, we were able... to choose another pitch.
More work needs to be done on the whole site. The access roads should also be cleared of weeds.
The sanitary facilities were reasonably good. Showers spacious, without shower coins.
However, the cleanliness could generally be better there.
There was a 50% discount for the swimming pool at reception. In previous years it should have been included.
The swimming pool itself is also getting on in years, but it's enough to cool off.
But to charge 4 euros extra for a sun lounger is a rip-off.
All in all, the price/performance ratio is not appropriate. But due to the good location you can apparently demand it.
It's okay for a few days' stay, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for a longer vacation.Automatisk oversatt. - Torsten B.July 2024Positive tingNear Cologne Forest pool next door Restaurant next doorNegative tingUnfriendliness Strict guidelines Wifi very expensive Price-performance ratio Virtually no bread roll serviceNice location, but...Back in Germany (previously on 5 pitches in France): You were not allowed to choose a pitch, had to position and align the caravan according to instructions. Only normal bread rolls from the previous day.
Since we were placed right next to the parking lot, it was quite loud during the bathing and restaurant... operations.
Wifi costs 2€ per day per device (completely out of date). Car on site costs extra (2,50€), so better park in front of the door.
When I wanted to clarify something at reception and a downpour started, the groundsman stood me in front of reception in the rain because he had to quickly close the windows in the sanitary area and I was soaking wet afterwards - unbelievable.Automatisk oversatt. - Hans K.May 2024Positive tingSimple but clean plumbingNegative tingDisinterested staff. Rigidity: We wanted to leave the campsite by car at 1:02 p.m. to go to lunch in town, but unfortunately the chain was just on and the doorman could not be swayed. Yes, 13:00 is 13:00!!! So we had to wait until 3 p.m. before going into town. Nice for an afternoon in Cologne! Very tourist and customer unfriendly! We just went across the street for lunch. From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. the chain goes on the gate!Fine to close the reception from 1:00-15:00 p.m. but please leave the gate open for guests who want to get out!Automatisk oversatt.
- Edwin K.July 2023Positive tingThe campsite is in a very quiet location on a meadow with tall trees in the middle of the forest. Right next to it is a beautiful large forest pool with a mini golf course. The restaurant is also right next door, as is an adjacent game reserveNegative tingPitch with approx. 70 pitches, unfortunately 50% of which are occupied by permanent campers. (Flagpole; geraniums; garden gnomes...partly also neglected) Sanitary facilities outdated but clean. Staff...slightly annoyed, dogs are welcome, but there are no poop bags or waste garbage cans for them on the entire site. Restaurant is beautifully situated but with the food quality of a snack barclose to Cologne and yet in the middle of the forestCP with advantages and disadvantages (see evaluation)

The site itself is a typical campsite, with building sites here and there and the sanitary facilities literally screaming for it. The latter... are getting on in years and in no way justify the price paid. Otherwise, the location in the middle of nature and far away from any roads makes it very quiet. A restaurant right next to the site can be used to relax in the evening. The site is conveniently located for exploring Cologne itself, whether on foot, by public transport (a short walk to the bus stop is necessary) or on foot. All in all, a quiet place in the middle of nature at a slightly exaggerated price in relation to the substance. And always remember, camper van drivers greet each other.Automatisk oversatt.
- Stephanus F.October 2016Nothing for the disabledThe former gem in the big city is becoming increasingly run-down. The disabled toilet is a disaster. The shower stool is broken, the grab rail at the washbasin is falling off the wall, the trickle of water in the shower cannot be kept at the right temperature etc. etc.Automatisk oversatt.
- Thomas H.July 2016Positive tingSwimming pool included. Very good restaurant right next door.Negative tingToo expensive for the services.Centrally locatedPitch very cramped. Sanitary facilities are fine. Admission to the swimming pool is included. Right next door is the "Wildwechsel" restaurant with very good cuisine. One night for 3 people with a camper van costs €32, which is too expensive.Automatisk oversatt.
- Björn S.September 2014Negative tingExpensive electricityVery expensive electricity calculationThey charge a flat-rate electricity connection fee of €3 and an additional €0.6 per kWh. All other campsites we have visited charge either a flat rate or according to consumption.Automatisk oversatt.
- Wilfried H.August 2014Positive tingYou can get to Cologne quickly, even by public transport. The bus stop is approx. 800 m from the squareSimple but clean campsiteFriendly staff, very eager and helpful. The sanitary facilities and showers are clean and in order. Good value for money. I've been to the site twice so far and have always been satisfied and will be back.Automatisk oversatt.
- Christian S.July 2014Positive tingSecluded and quiet location, very nice operator, swimming pool next door.Negative ting12km from Cologne main station.A really great placeBeautifully and quietly situated campsite on the edge of the village in the forest. There is a swimming pool and a small wild boar enclosure nearby. The forest is ideal for hiking, and not just on hot days. The pitches are very well organized: Tents, caravans/mobile homes and permanent campers are located... next to each other. Although the site was quite full during my stay, I had enough space around me with my small tent. I can't say whether it's a bit noisier there during the day because of the swimming pool (I was in Cologne all day and only came back when the swimming pool had already closed).Automatisk oversatt.
- rico r.August 2013The campground near the A3 is located in the middle of the green game park super connection to the city of Cologne I always feel very comfortable here I can only recommend it to othersAutomatisk oversatt.
- Benjamin K.August 2013The groundsman was very nice and helpful, and on the 2nd night he also energetically ensured that we had a good night's sleep, which fortunately helped. The location of the site is in itself very nice as far as the natural setting is concerned, unfortunately there are a few points that prevent us from... coming back. - No electricity for tents - pitches only suitable for caravans, as most of them are very sloping, so no straight surface for camping (mattresses are slanted) - sanitary facilities sometimes extremely dirty - in the 2 days we were there there was mostly no water in the showers, so hygiene failed, and unfortunately that's not good at all. It can happen, but then it should be taken care of - part of the site looks like a junkyard for forgotten caravans that have been waiting to be disposed of for 20 years - what a shame, the site could be very nice if it was looked after.Automatisk oversatt.
- Jens V.November 2012Thanks again for the nice time on your place, I can only recommend you, for me as a mechanic a super place, which also keeps everything the owner promises in the price-performance ratio, I always like to come back, this is due to the team of your place and the warm way in which you are welcomed, the place is super central and the toilets are well maintained and clean, also the price is right.Automatisk oversatt.
- Jürgen T.July 2012July 2012 was our 3rd and certainly our last time at this campsite. Despite having enough space, we were allocated a pitch that was extremely small and sloping. The staff were very unfriendly. The sanitary facilities are ok, but there is room for improvement.Automatisk oversatt.
