"Small but nice - The place itself is very nice and tidy. You have peace and quiet and the babbling brook is relaxing.

"Barely maintained place, old facilities, humid climate - Acceptable for one night in transit. Quiet and nice site management. Sanitary facilities quite old. Surroundings appear unkempt (not mopped, dried plants, dog excrement on the footpath). Only cash payment possible, which is a bit out of date.

"Very nice operators - We had a very pleasant stay during the Christmas period and a very dedicated and friendly campsite operator. The bistro was lovingly decorated and furnished and the stove warmed us up. Very good starting point for excursions to Göttingen or Hann. Münden.

"A great week, even with corona rules - The campsite is run in a very informal way by a Dutch couple. Will is always on hand with help and advice when needed. Everything you need for a pleasant stay is there. Shopping facilities 6 km away (Dransfeld). In the morning there were always fresh bread rolls to order. The pitches are relatively large, partly separated by hedges. There are pitches with and without shade. We were there with a motorhome and got a pitch on the main pitch (next to the service building) in the low season. In the high season, the camper vans are a little further away.

"Child-friendly campsite - Small, simple CP. Ideal for families with children. A large "fleet" of different vehicles is available to the children free of charge. You can also eat there. The site's own burgers are very tasty. Not far from Göttingen, easily accessible even by bike.

Welcome on the website of Campingplatz Am Niemetal. Since January 2019 we are the proud new owners of this beautiful located campsite where Rest, Peace and Hopitality are naturally. With its 80 places, of which only 20 year-places this is …the ideal family campsite. The campsite is surrounded by woods and mountains and is divided into different fields with enough privacy. We also have 3 comfort-places which have their own water and drain. Campingplatz Am Niemetal is located in the beautiful nature of the valley around the river Nieme. From the campsite you can take a walk in what is known as the Weserbergland, the region where fairy tales as Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella find their origin. The idyllic river landscape lends itself to walking and cycling. For the real nature lover, there is a lot to see. You can see beautiful birds in the air and in the trees, you can hear a woodpecker or you might catch a glimpse of a deer or boar. In the river you will find trout, swimming up the stream. Even for people who don’t have their own caravan or tent, we offer camping opportunities in the form of simple cabins. In the "back to basic" log cabin you will find a place to sleep for four persons, a table with chairs and more. On the cabin-page you will find more information. In the Gaststätte you are welcome for a cup of coffee, a cold beer or a good meal. Campingplatz Am Niemetal is a great campsite for a short vacation, but also during an extended holiday you will not be bored one minute!
