But it is more than cheap. So everything would be great if it weren't for the super friendly groundsman..... we are all adults (or so I thought) and if something is wrong you can talk about anything.
But here you have... to be told off in two words and then you get "well-intentioned advice"... Keep your eyes open when choosing friends.... The number of showers is very limited.Short stay, perfectWe had two nights with a family tent. The reservation was very pleasant and wishes were taken into account. You won't find a groundsman. When you arrive, you look for your reserved pitch and set up. There are three pitch areas. The tent meadow is a little off the beaten track and is probably intended... more for 1-2 person tents. Otherwise, there are some pitches directly on the Weser and a large camper area on the meadow. Sufficient supply and disposal facilities are available. You can have even... more fun there with a boat (unfortunately we don't have one).
You can cycle across the fields to the town of Nienburg in 15 minutes.
The price-performance ratio is absolutely ok.

The site is located directly on the Weser cycle path and invites you to go on extensive bike tours. Due to the corona protection measures, the sanitary facilities were closed, so no rating can be given. The pitches are of a sufficient size. The site managers are friendly... and helpful. Everyone is on first-name terms and trust is very important on this site. If you leave when the operators are away, you simply put the pitch fee in an envelope in a letterbox. Pure nature, my angler loves it. And where else can you get that for the price?Negative tingThe cleaning lady washes her cleaning cloths in the washing machine. Your own laundry smells the same, what a shame... The cleaning takes place daily in the shower (and also WC) but unfortunately there are always users who leave a real mess behind. I strongly advise not to accept the English groups with 20 or more people, riots and dirt everywhere. It was good that we left after 24 hours. It was impossible to sleep at night as there was no control and no emergency service for rioters (apart from the police), which was too extreme for us. But it was nice and we would love to come back...Small and beautifulA week's rest at a mega price. We went fishing and explored Nienburg and the surrounding area.
The restaurant nearby was great. We are going back in 2021, that says it all or.
Not so good was that the sanitary facilities/showers were so dirty from guests in the course of 24 hours. The operator can't... help that, but you should take shower slippers with you if you are not the first one in the morning. I found it difficult to find someone to talk to on the day of arrival, as there is no real office that is staffed. Someone is running around somewhere :-).
WLAN worked perfectly and free of charge. Watching movies was great without a SAT system.
If you are afraid of mice (they live on the hedges) you should set up camp in the middle of the guest meadow, we had fun with them and plenty of photos adorn our adventure vacation in the photo album with them. Definitely recommendable, because I think every place has its little flaws and I can live with those here.
The bird life is something special there and the fish also come right up to the jetty. Nature in the Weser area with lots of peace and relaxation. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, fog on the water in the morning, if that's what you're looking for, this is the place to be... Boats rarely pass by. The nearby weir is also worth a visit, as is the historic Drakenburg Gate. And if you've never seen groups of wild geese by the hundreds, you can marvel at them in the meadows here. The advantages far outweigh the minor drawbacks, so don't let that put you off. We won't and we'll go again...Automatisk oversatt.

There were already difficulties with the approach. Firstly, the turn-off to the road that leads to the campsite is somewhat hidden and if you come from the eastern bank of the Weser (i.e. over the bridge beforehand) you have to negotiate a very tight... and sharp bend (almost 180°). And from the end of the town, the remaining kilometers to the campsite begin on rough cobblestones with lots of potholes. The dishes on the caravan shelves will thank you. When we arrived at the campsite, we wanted to register, for which you have to go to a signposted caravan. Although it was still afternoon when we arrived, there was a party going on in the restaurant at the same time, which the registration people also attended. Despite asking several times via other campers whether we could register, we were allowed to wait for over an hour until someone from the party came to register. If we hadn't already driven 700km, we would certainly have gone to another campsite. At least the registration went quickly and we were kindly told where we could stand. As there wasn't much going on at the time, we had a free choice. Right at the beginning there was an unparceled meadow, further down the path there were also plots for 3-6 caravans. Theoretically, you could have parked directly on the banks of the Weser, but some of the pitches were already occupied and the others were closed due to grass seeding. A pity, but at least it was a campsite where the "exclusive pitches" were not just reserved for permanent campers. As we wanted to continue our journey the next day anyway, we pitched up on the large meadow. There were only a few electricity boxes (probably because the Weser regularly overflows its banks), we needed a whole drum of power cable and another 5m of cable. There were hardly any trees around the meadow, so there was plenty of sunshine in the evening and satellite reception was also no problem. We actually wanted to have an after-work beer in the pub, but the staff seemed overwhelmed by the party going on there. At least I didn't see a "closed to the public" sign. Too bad, the weather was nice. The sanitary facilities were less nice. On the one hand, they are probably the same sanitary facilities as the restaurant, and on the other, they still seem to be the original equipment from the 1980s. Modern is something else. Due to the flood protection, the facilities can only be reached via a staircase (i.e. not suitable for the disabled). I didn't want to take a shower in the evening when there was a party next door, and of course both shower cubicles were occupied in the morning. I don't remember whether there is a bread roll service on the site, but there is certainly no small camping market. We left after breakfast. Paid €18 for 2 adults + car + caravan + electricity.
