- Paul W.May 2023Positive tingfriendly and helpful hosts, spacious pitches with privacy and wind protection through trees and bushes, very tasty bread roll service, peace and quiet, privacy, close to the lighthouse, numerous land and sea birds to observeNegative tingnonePure relaxationWe spent a long weekend at the Dyksterhus campsite with three people in two motorhomes and two dogs and had a great time!
The campsite is at the end of a cul-de-sac behind the Schäferhof directly on the dyke.
The friendly host family gave us a warm welcome. We were able to choose our favorite pitch ourselves.... Spacious pitches and a beautiful stand of trees and shrubs create a cozy atmosphere and good privacy and invite you to relax. We felt right at home.
Something we have never experienced before: The delicious and crispy bread rolls were brought quietly to the motorhome in the morning by the campsite operator himself (even on the Whitsun holidays!) and deposited! Many thanks for that! :-))
Numerous land and sea birds can be observed. From the dyke you can see the Ems estuary and the North Sea. Dogs are not allowed on the dyke directly at the farm because of the sheep, but you can quickly walk to the lighthouse Campen and take your dog with you on the dyke.
There is water and electricity at the site itself, so you won't want for anything. The sanitary facilities are clean and yes, as already described in part, are getting on in years. However, we liked the charm of the old building.
The permanent campers and the friendly shepherd next door always had a greeting on their lips.
We already feel at home on this site, would love to come back and can recommend it to anyone looking for peace and quiet!Automatisk oversatt. - Thekla W.September 2021Positive tingWe really enjoyed the peace and quiet on the pitch.Negative tingVery remote, narrow paths and access roads.A beautiful vacationWe felt very comfortable on this small family site, it is very secluded and quiet. The sanitary facilities were clean but unfortunately already very outdated, a modernization would be very upgrading. Here you sit in a lot of nature so that you are shaded by bushes and trees, which gives a cozy atmosphere. The Corona app didn't bother us at all, on the contrary, our vaccinations are stored on it. It was a wonderful vacation!Automatisk oversatt.

- Chris M.August 2020Positive tingOf course, the coastal landscape, the beaches and the proximity to Emden and the Netherlands are an absolute plus.Negative tingI can't find anythingSpace to feel goodI like the fact that everyone there has the Corona app on their cell phone. This gives me the security of knowing that I will be informed if I meet people infected with Covid and that I can contact a doctor in good time to test my health status. All campsites and hotels etc. should actually require this app, then many people could possibly be informed in good time and possibly treated.Automatisk oversatt.
- Christian M.August 2020Positive tingNothing that outweighs the disadvantages.Negative tingCorona app monitoring methods, compulsory exerciseCompulsion is a bad hostAnyone who demands compulsory monitoring methods from their guests (Corona app and possibly others?) despite the absence of a pandemic cannot be recommended in all seriousness.
Any coercion is a bad host.
The campsite has nothing outstanding that others don't have. Recommendation: leave it to the left.Automatisk oversatt. - Paul R.August 2020Positive tingthe location of the squareNegative tingIf you attach importance to an app, you should rather check and ensure the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities. - Arthur G.August 2020Positive tingnoneNegative tingCorona app mandatoryCorona app mandatoryNo stay is allowed without the Corona app! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I certainly won't be supporting all these scaremongers. I certainly won't be recommending this place to anyone and would advise anyone not to visit. I wish the owner as few guests as possible to keep the risk of infection as low as possible!Automatisk oversatt.
- Manfred T.August 2020Positive tingNothingNegative tingThe tyranny of the operatorSelf-aggrandizing violations of the GDPR and discriminationMaking the corona app compulsory is pure discrimination. Even those who are willing but don't have a suitable smartphone are discriminated against - that's their problem, they have domestic authority.
I don't believe that domiciliary rights cover violations of the AGG and informational self-determination.... Nor does it cover access to personal data (smartphone, coronavirus warning app) effectively obtained through coercion - even medical data in this case. And the personal reference is given here, since the person is standing in front of him!
That's not possible. In my opinion, this could even be a criminal offense, but that's for others to decide. I'm sure he'll be prosecuted.
What can we expect there next season? Maybe a sign saying "Corona deniers, blacks and Jews not welcome?"
It's all house rules - isn't it?Automatisk oversatt. - Ingrid S.August 2020Positive tingNothingNegative tingA CP that forces campers to install a monitoring app has disqualified itselfDiscriminationA CP that forces campers to install a monitoring app has disqualified itselfAutomatisk oversatt.
- Angelo D.August 2020Positive tingNone!Negative tingPure ignorance, other views and opinions are not tolerated.Never againStay canceled after long discussion!
We only have normal cell phones, and use a smartphone for navigation, only GPS, no SIM. It was our problem how to get the CWA on it...
It's outrageous how federal regulations are being ignored here.
Dictatorship in a democratic republic, we thought we had survived these times.
A little tip, if you're going to make such demands, you should also comply with the mask requirement yourself!Automatisk oversatt. - Fred M.August 2020Positive tingNOTHING AT ALLNegative tingAccess only with cold appDiscrimination against guestsAccording to the operator, only guests with a C app are welcome here. - Jörg W.August 2020Positive tingIn the north.Negative tingIt's really sad that such people are found in the camping sector.Uninformed operatorsI was shocked to see that something like the C app restricts access here. It's a shame that the operators don't educate themselves about this and that it's possible in Germany. As a couple, we would never have thought that something like this would be possible in the beautiful north.Automatisk oversatt.
- Thom I.August 2020Positive tingI think the mandatory Corona app is great! Real campers can remember the time when their hobby could no longer be practiced thanks to the shitty Corona. - Denis S.May 2020Positive tingPeace, quiet, family welcome, helpfulness in all matters.Negative tingYou should have a car or be good at cycling. The most beautiful campsite I know.I'm amazed at how people here rate this fantastic campsite. You guys are out of your minds.
I have absolutely nothing negative to say. I've been there three years in a row now and it's going to get a lot more frequent.
I can remember the first meeting with the groundsman very clearly. The groundsman... introduced himself to me with a joke. He was incredibly friendly and the ice was broken immediately. The first time I was driven by friends, when he saw that, he immediately offered me his help. He wanted to offer someone who was a complete stranger a lift. I'd never seen anything so friendly before. A kind-hearted person who wears his heart on his sleeve. I don't understand how you can find bad words against the operators here. I immediately liked the family.
I've been there twice this year. I haven't ridden a bike for 13 years because of an accident. The "bully" took the time to help me with my first attempts at riding. When I was more confident, I rode over the dyke. Do you know what this evil man said? "No matter where you get stuck, call me and I'll come and pick you up from anywhere." That made me realize again what a kind-hearted person he is. And some people here dare to call the operators bullies? What is wrong with you?
On the subject of hygiene.
That's not true either. This is a small family campsite far removed from luxury. Anyone expecting a highly polished campsite here will be disappointed. However, this site is more than clean. How can you call this place dirty? It's unbelievable what some people start saying here just because the operators want to look after the health of their guests.
There is no other place where I feel as welcome and free as here. All those who like it simple and are open-minded will love this place.
Dear operators.

The place was generally ok, the toilet buildings were cleaned daily. Of course not the newest, here and there a little color and it would be more inviting, but I would like to travel there again. If you need peace and quiet, 1000% the right place!!!Automatisk oversatt.
