- Christian T.August 2022Positive tingGreat nature and pitches right on the water. Very friendly staffNegative tingToo few showers and toilets, partly cold waterAbsolutely incredible, in the middle of natureA wonderful spot in the middle of a large lake landscape. The campsite has 150 pitches and is kept quite simple to match the natural surroundings. If you want to be right next to the water, you should book in advance. There are relatively few showers and the water is not always quite warm. But the view and the nature make up for it. The team is extremely friendly and always eager to fulfill the guest's wishesAutomatisk oversatt.
- Annett H.June 2022Positive tingClose to the lake, bread roll service, boat rentalNegative tingSanitary, distance to infrastructureToo expensive overallCampsite directly on the lake. Pitches very different from the ground. Sanitary and cooking facilities do not reflect the price level. The café and bread roll service as well as the hire of boats, kayaks and bicycles are positive. Overall beautiful nature. Too remote and too expensive for us personally.Automatisk oversatt.
- Josef M.August 2021Positive tingLocation, location, location!Negative tingUnkempt, old sanitary facilities!Idyllic campsite in the middle of the forestSo far our most beautifully situated campsite in Sweden, although it does require a few compromises in terms of sanitary facilities. We arrived without a reservation and had no difficulty getting a very nice pitch near the lake. The supply lines to the nearest electricity connection are sometimes quite... long. An additional extension cable may be required here. Each pitch has a possibility to light a campfire in the evening, idyllic. The campsite is located on an island, which we circumnavigated in the canoe we had brought with us. It's a shame that the operator attaches so little importance to the facilities, condition and maintenance of the sanitary facilities. Nevertheless, we will be back.Automatisk oversatt.
- Rebecca B.August 2021Positive tingGreat locationNegative tingUsually long waiting times at reception, washing up mostly only with cold water, only one working washing machine for the entire campsiteGreat location, but would not come backThe site is beautifully situated, very secluded and quiet. Our first impression was great. Unfortunately, we waited about 30-40 minutes every morning at the reception to rent a canoe or organize other activities. Washing was a challenge as there was only one working machine for the whole place and rinsing with cold water took some getting used to. Too bad, but we wouldn't come back despite the beautiful surroundings.Automatisk oversatt.
- Anke B.July 2021Positive tingSpacious, natural site set back between woods and meadows directly on Åsnen. Typically Swedish. Each pitch has a wooden seating area and fire pit. Good for tent campers.Negative tingUnfortunately completely overloaded in high season. Sometimes long waiting times at reception, sanitary facilities, showers, toilets, flushing facilities.Beautiful, close to nature, typically Swedish. To the HS with minus points.Beautiful, spacious, natural campsite away from the main roads and towns. Nice and quiet in the middle of meadows and woods right by Åsnen. The terrain is very natural and hilly. Each pitch has a wooden seating area and fire pit. Wood is available cheaply at reception. There are three service buildings.... There are 4 toilets and 4 showers, each individually accessible from the outside, for all guests on the site. At full capacity there were always waiting times. The same applies to reception, where you can sometimes wait over half an hour for your reserved canoe. There is a small store with ice cream, cakes, pastries, souvenirs and a bread roll service. Bicycle and canoe, motorboat rental. Canoeing from the campsite is great and can go on for hours. Beautiful walking and hiking trails from the campsite. Many German families. You can explore Åsnen and the surrounding area from the campsite. We had pitch 114 behind a small stone wall with a view of the lake. A few steps to the lake via a footbridge and direct access to the deep water. There is also a bathing platform. However, there is also a shallow sandy beach and another long jetty with two bathing platforms in the water. The lake was very clean and warm.Automatisk oversatt.
- Andrea R.August 2019Positive tingnoneNegative tingsee commentSpace with very narrow access and wide pathsTo reach the site, you have to drive a few kilometers on a single-lane access road where two vehicles cannot pass each other. There are a few passing places, but pushing a caravan a long way back is not everyone's cup of tea. The reception was not exactly friendly. You rather had the feeling of being... "processed". The access road from the reception to the pitch itself was also more than tight and there were no alternative routes. There were old truck rims on every pitch that could be used as a barbecue or fire pit. Unfortunately, we were smoked in from all sides as there was only wet wood in the forest. The shower facilities and toilets are very limited and you have to walk relatively long distances through the forest, depending on the pitch. There were no washbasins for the morning toilet. You had to brush your teeth at the hand basin in the toilet - an absolute nogo for us. There were no sockets in the anteroom of the shower to blow-dry hair. We had to walk back to the caravan with our wet hair, which is not pleasant in rainy weather or colder temperatures. We didn't use the bread roll service as it was a long way to reception and we didn't have a bike with us. We will certainly not visit the site again.Automatisk oversatt.
- Gunter S.July 2019Positive tingLocationNegative tingFar too few toilets, showers and water points, also filthyGet no. If you want to experience Germany in Sweden...First the good news: the campsite is wonderfully surrounded by water and forest on a peninsula in beautiful Asnen. You can go canoeing or hire a small motorboat to go fishing on the lake. The fire pits made from truck rims, which practically every pitch has, are a good idea. Some of the pitches are large.... But now it's getting thin on the ground. The parking facilities for those arriving are poor, sometimes it is no longer possible for others to get through. The site is too full. There are fewer than 20 toilets available for the 160 parking spaces. There is also a lack of showers, which you need after a dip in the peaty lake, and especially a lack of water points. Who came up with the brilliant idea of using the dishwashers as water points at the same time? Waiting was normal (when the campsite was full). Both when fetching water, going to the toilet and when washing and showering. Some of the sanitary facilities are old, in any case dirty even after "cleaning". The water was often cold, once there was no water at all. The paths are long. You have to plan 500 meters to fetch water and it is worth using a car from many places to empty the chemical toilet. Don't fall for full-bodied descriptions such as "Midsummer Night's Meadow" or "Beach Promenade"! The rather resolute service at the always overcrowded counter is not particularly customer-oriented... We didn't find the place to be typically Swedish.Automatisk oversatt.
- Leonhard H.July 2019Positive tingPeace, nature, relaxationNegative tingMosquitoes, the nearest supermarket is 15 km away.NatureCampsiteHere you are in the middle of nature, right by the water and miles away from any stress. You don't have to travel to central or northern Sweden, it's just as beautiful here.Automatisk oversatt.
- Sascha M.July 2018Positive tingIn the middle of natureNegative tingnoNature-oriented placeCame here more by chance and was very pleasantly surprised. Idyllic site in the middle of nature. Pitches are numbered and you may need a longer line for electricity. Shade or sun - the choice is yours. Unpleasant smells can sometimes occur underneath the sanitary blocks if the air pressure is unfavorable.... Water sports enthusiasts (canoeing) and anglers are in good hands here (canoe hire and fishing equipment in the store). Every now and then the place mice look around curiously. A lovely place that is also suitable for longer stays. The problem of too few toilets was not noticeable and walking a bit further does not harm anyone. Unfortunately we couldn't try out the saunaAutomatisk oversatt.
- Ralito C.July 2018Positive tingPitch Fishing, canoeing and swimming in 50min Växjö, 45min Ikea Museum and 60min to ElchpartNegative tingStore Cold or no water / WCNature campsiteWe stayed at the fully booked campsite during the NRW summer vacation and really enjoyed 2E K13. Canoeing, fishing and swimming were our favorite activities. No. 83 had a great view of the water. There was a complete fire ban and the fire pit set up for each pitch was unfortunately not allowed to be... used due to the risk of fire. We visited Växjö (50 min), the moose park (70 min) and the Ikea Museum (40 min). Bread rolls, milk and sausage are available on site. Barbecue package can be ordered. 1x week there was live music and 6 Euro beer (0.5 liter). Coke 2,5 Euro. The nature is the trump card of the place and is great for southern Sweden. Junior caught lots of small fish and I caught a big one on a spinner. The weekly ticket costs 30 euros. Sanitary toilet and showers have light and shade from good to cold or no water. But it was still ok 2-3 stars out of 5.Automatisk oversatt.
- Michael W.July 2018Positive tingPeace, nature,Negative tingShopping facilitiesBeautiful Swedish campsiteWe had booked our pitch in advance and were able to check in after 9pm without any problems. The team at the site is very friendly and helpful. The beautiful lake is perfect for swimming, fishing, boating and canoeing. I would like to say that the sanitary facilities are very basic. However, the toilets... and showers were never dirty. Of course, if you expect a cleaning lady after every shower, you are in the wrong place. Holidaymakers with tents must be prepared for the fact that some pitches are not completely straight. Caravans and motorhomes can compensate for this by using wedges and timbers. Getnö Gard is definitely worth a visit, either as a stopover or for a longer stay.Automatisk oversatt.
- Peter H.May 2018Positive tingFriendly staff. Great location of the CP on the lake.Negative tingMosquitoes.....Beautiful location and generous spaceFriendly staff. Check in in German. We stayed in May with dry weather, few vacationers and few mosquitoes. Therefore very quiet and relaxing. Large "plots" and a view of the lake a little further away. Partly shady, partly in the sun. Showers/toilets were checked and cleaned twice a day. Kitchen and... lounge/dining room available. Making a wood fire was only allowed in designated areas (not on the plot). For a short stay (overnight), pitches are available. Washing up with lake water. Drinking water taps well marked. Supply and disposal for Womos. Small store and bistro. Trollberget National Park easily accessible by bike.Automatisk oversatt.
- H. S.August 2017Positive tingLocation! Relatively cheap canoes for hire. Owners speak German. Versatile and varied.Negative tingCleanliness in high season. Too few toilets and showers. Please note: Reception is closed from 12:00 - 14:00.Great location and many possibilitiesNice place! The "deluxe" pitches are not the best. They are close to the water and a lot of children make a lot of noise here. If you want peace and quiet, you should choose the pitches further back. Satellite reception is not possible everywhere. Few showers and toilets for the crowds in high season - hence slight problems with cleanliness. During our stay, the campsite was mainly frequented by German vacationers.Automatisk oversatt.
- Yvonne F.July 2017Positive tingFriendliness Cleanliness Boat rental Price/performance ratioNegative tingSanitary building too few toilets and showers and unfortunately sometimes cold water when showeringSweden is greatWe were here in July 2017, it's a great place. Unfortunately the sanitary facilities were not so good. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We had our own fire pit on the pitch. Our child always had friends to play soccer with. It was another fantastic vacation in Sweden. Unfortunately you noticed... that there were a lot of Germans on the site, Swedes are simply friendlier and cleaner, they clear away their garbage themselves. For some people from Germany you have to be ashamed of their behavior. Dear team, keep up the good work, it's great with you.Automatisk oversatt.
- Carolin E.July 2017Positive tingDirectly on the lake, no camping resort feeling - but has many leisure facilities, quietNegative tingCanoes can only be rented from 9 am to 7 pm (if you pay per day)Quiet, close to nature, largeWe stayed at this site in July 2017 and had low expectations (based on the reviews here) of the sanitary facilities. The site is spacious and you should try to stand as close to the water as possible. There you have a partial view of the lake, but also shade. There are two or three bathing spots. You... can also go fishing, canoeing, cycling, geocaching, play chess (big), tennis, beach volleyball or hiking. There are about 2-3 playgrounds on the site. There is also a kitchen with a microwave and stove. The sanitary facilities are small, e.g. one shower for the ladies and two toilets. Toilets - but I never had to wait. Family showers are also available. The sanitary facilities are not dirty, as has been described here elsewhere. You can buy bread rolls in the morning from 9.00 am or order them the day before until 3.30 pm. The pitches cost between 280-175 crowns per day (depending on the location on the pitch), electricity costs 50Kr/day, a rowing boat 350Kr/day and a canoe 300Kr/day.Automatisk oversatt.
- Willi M.August 2016Positive tingSuitable for youth groups, canoeists and ideologized nature loversNegative tingSanitary facilities and inadequate infrastructureOnly recommended to a very limited extentThe place deserves a maximum of two stars with great courtesy. The sanitary area corresponds to the state of the 60s. The toilets and showers are far too small and there is very little hot water. The number of toilets and showers is far too small. Drinking water is only supplied in the washing-up area.... Disposal is in the farthest corner of the site, so you have to use your car. A large number of minor damages cannot be overlooked and add up negatively in the long term. The site is noisy and not quiet. The place itself no longer meets Swedish standards, the price-performance ratio is unfortunately not right.Automatisk oversatt.
- Alexander S.July 2016Positive tingSituation Situation Situation Making fire FriendlinessNegative tingperhaps too old showers and too few So what? It's just a nature campsiteWhat my predecessors have written is somehow all true: too few showers that are also old and sometimes too far away but nature camping fires make beautifulAutomatisk oversatt.
- Malte R.July 2016Positive tingPure nature, directly on the lake, shallow bathing area, a paradise for childrenNegative tingIf you are looking for comfort with bells and whistles, this is not the place for you.A Smaland paradise for usWe were here with a motorhome and our daughter. Gentö Gard is a nature campsite, there are permanent pitches, but they are not parceled out. The sanitary facilities, which have already been described a lot, were perfectly fine for us. In one of the older buildings there was no hot water under the showers,... but right next door in the new building everything is up to current standards. As the showers are often used directly after bathing with sandy feet, they often look like this. This was never a problem for us. On the other hand, the campsite is located directly on the lake, in the middle of beautiful nature. The nearest supermarket is about 8 km away, which was a relaxed bike ride for us. The friendliness and service on the campsite were excellent. We really enjoyed our stay in the summer temperatures. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to light a fire on the site due to the high fire risk (set by the local authority).Automatisk oversatt.
- Olaf B.July 2016Positive tingNature and tranquillityNegative tingtoo few showersRelaxing days!We spent some wonderful and relaxing days here. If you are looking for peace and nature, this is the place for you. The only drawback was the sanitary facilities - but we could live with that.Automatisk oversatt.
- Peter W.June 2016Positive tingNature, tranquillity, lake, paddling opportunitiesNegative tingSmall storePure nature! Our absolute favorite place on our trip to Sweden! Here you can enjoy nature in peace and quiet. Ideal for paddling. There are so many different routes that even after a week we still haven't explored all the bays and islands. Swimming is best from the jetty, as there are some stones on the beach. This... is a nature campsite. So you shouldn't expect too much from the sanitary facilities. There is some seawater. The store at the reception is not really appealing either. In the morning there are bread rolls (unfortunately, no reference is made to the need to order in advance ... - but the buns are ready quickly), otherwise the selection is very modest. For shopping you have to go to the town 15 km away. The price-performance ratio is very good. We paid SEK 195 per night (but without electricity and without a surcharge for a premium pitch).Automatisk oversatt.
